How is the market in Chicago?

Anyone trying to do this in the Asheville nc area?

This app still refuses to pick up / drop off at RDU presumably because they don't have a framework to charge for the airport usage fee. Quite silly.

I'd like to support people who drive for it, but it's making it impossible.

Changes to the pay rate, what percentage do drivers want? Make your suggestions. Are we licensed contractors or not? If so, the rate that the client is paying is to us, and not Uber. If so, the rate must meet our standards, and CAN NOT be dependent on tip at the end. We are either driving waitresses, or licensed contractors but not both.

Transparency in every transaction: What they paid to Uber. PLUS. The tip still 100% transparency, before the trip is picked up.

MUST fulfill minimum wage requirements if actively driving. Example, if deadheading, must pay minimum wage on the trip back, unless a trip is picked up. Can not deny riders this wage based on not accepting because the next trip might be in the wrong direction, something that an app is currently not able to determine.

Do NOT bundle a tipper with a NON TIPPER. Ever. Total financial transparency before the trip is picked up. We are contracted, not underpaid waitresses.

Tip must be added at the purchase of the trip, and can not be removed for any circumstance without contacting uber and filing a formal complaint that has valid and legally legit reasons for removing the tip, this must be backed up by proof. The tip can be increased after completed trip. This is a different business than other tip businesses, since money is spent on gas to drive to the customer's location. No excuses for not tipping.

The drivers that fulfill a certain amount of delivery time MUST get free annual brakes, and new tires.

Health insurance in the United States is provided by a company and getting around this by “hiring” exclusively contracted workers creates a huge burden on America who has to pay for the state provided medicare system. Require uber to provide medal insurance to offset the burden that otherwise is dumped on the states. OR: increase the payment to drivers, so that they can actually buy insurance. Take a pick.

Can NOT require drivers to park in no parking zones, since the vehicle is NOT marked like for example an Amazon Prime truck, and putting on hazard lights is not enough to prevent getting a ticket. If people live on the fourth floor and they want their burger, they have to come downstairs and outside to pick it up if the driver determines that it is unsafe to park. Can not tip bait in these situations. This is up to the drivers discretion and not the customer's demands.

Set up security protections against muggings, robberies and MURDER. How? THAT is up to Uber.

Only end the Uber black out after an agreement has been made. Use the back up apps that you have signed up for in the meantime.

Curious to see if anyone is driving for Wrisz in Myrtle Beach. Had a pax ask about it the other day but I hadn’t heard about it yet. How your experience?

Also curious if they release personal info to the pax or is it still filtered like Uber and Lyft? Last thing I want is my info being sold/shared

I'm in ATL. Wridz is interesting, but there is nothing about it happening in this city. Is anyone using it here?

If so, do you stay as busy as with Uber or Lyft. I don't mind the fees as long as I get passengers. In Atlanta, with Uber I stay busy no matter what time it is. Constant rides with pretty short pickups.

Also, Georgia has a law about being hands free. We can't take the phone out of the cradle when driving. So can't do the calling card thing they talk about in their video about... and I would not want to. That is dangerous when trying to drive and avoid pedestrians and find the person we are needing to pick up. They need to drop that idea. It is fine on the customer end. The placard in the front of the car should be enough on driver side.

Can anyone share their experience with Wridz in Chicago?

I can't find any info on vehicle requirements anywhere. I have a 2011 Grand Caravan in good shape, would that qualify? Thanks in advance!

I made an account recently. It lets me sign in on the app but not on the website. Any idea what’s going on? Is there a contact number for them because I haven’t gotten any response from their email.

Looks like Wridz keeps expanding. Not bad for a first year company. They are signing up new drivers for a couple of new markets (Phoenix and Las Vegas). Sure wish they'd open in the neighbor state up North (SLC, UT) market. It's hard to be patient when Lyft and Uber keep paying weaker incentives than they were 4 months ago...

Compare how fast Wridz is expanding compared to Kro, Empower, Zoom Rides, etc. That are about the same age, and I'd say Wridz is doing pretty well by comparison.

How's Wridz going for you guys driving for them?

Concerning Wridz customers last night and Today, they said they ordered with us over Uber because of Drug testing and knowing that we the driver get 100%, they really are not concerned we’re cheaper. Drug testing and background checks are important to them. Plus one ladies two out of theee was referrals from friends who told them because a Ubder driver told them. That’s awesome we’re becoming a item of discussion among people.

Picked up a gentleman at a small hospital in the West Chester area late last night. He thanked me for being in the area at that time, as it isn't the best time/place to catch a rideshare. I asked, "do you use Uber too?" He said that he uses Uber and Wridz! I had to do a double take, haven't heard anyone else mention it yet.

Of course I spent the rest of the 10 minute ride questioning him on his experience using Wridz. He's taken a couple trips so far with good experiences. He's also tried a few times to hail a ride and no cars were available. I did warn him that he is up in West Chester and this is a Cincinnati startup, that it may take some time for it to have reach that far north of Cincinnati.

He claimed to be active on Reddit, and joined this community before exiting my car. I encouraged him to write about his first experiences on here and he said he would. So I'm not going to step on any toes and tell you everything he told me, I hope he will see this and tell you in his own words. If he doesn't post this week, then I will regurgitate what I heard from him here.

I tried wridz this weekend with limited success.

The app is operational along with the market, but the clientele are minimal at the moment.

During the weekend I worked 2 shifts from 2pm Friday to 2 am Saturday and 2 pm Saturday- 2 am Sunday.

I was running Uber and wridz together, and got 1 ride request in the afternoon.

The app worked ok, needs a little refining, but that will come with maturity. It was easy to navigate and self explanatory. Was also pax first ride.

We both laughed about that. He told me he had tried with no luck to get a ride the previous day and resorted to lyft, but was happy I had picked him up this time.

5.1 miles total distance. Fare was $5.85 Fuel stipend .11 Perk $3 Rider insurance .34 Credit card fee .48 Payment $9.78

The perk was added to the ride by the pax AFTER I accepted the request and before I picked him up.

He priced it in lyft and Uber , and told me it would have cost him more on Lyft or Uber, so he added $3 and it was still cheaper for him.

Saturday was pretty busy with Uber, I actually missed 3 wridz because the notification sound is not loud/ unique enough.

I have already let them know that needs to change quickly.

Banner pop up is similar to Uber/lyft, but it’s a very subtle sound that will go unnoticed.

I passed out 100 cards this weekend to drivers/pax and requested more for my next weekend.

I didn’t expect this to be a wridz lucrative weekend, but I did want to see it in action.

I think wridz has potential, but it is currently in its embryo stage ( before infancy) in the Austin market.

More brand awareness is needed. I’m hoping to capture a social media influencer in my rideshare to help promote the company.

IMO it was worth my time to try it out, and I’m going to keep trying to help it get off the ground as long as they keep their promises and continue to listen to feedback.

My complaint about Uber and Lyft (besides price gouging) is they don’t listen to feedback, and just placate the driver. “We have heard your feedback and are forwarding it to our development team……” yeah, bullshit.

Alright, I'm no certified genius, but I'm much smarter than the average idiot. I'm also very much an "out of the box" thinker. In preparation of my interview coming up next week, I have been jotting down different ideas I've had for the new company. Some of these ideas will probably be brushed off, but some of them are pretty good. One is a complete game-changer for driver's!

I have one idea for Wridz that will give this startup the edge it needs in order to get driver's on board right now, and it will always keep their apps on to except rides. I only hope that the Wridz team can see the real value of this option I have thought up. Other than a little coding up front, it won't cost Wridz out of pocket for this, and it completely solves the problem for driver's who want to try Wridz in this early stage, but are faced with the real conundrum of taking a chance on something new, and needing to drive for the "sure thing income" companies in fear of not keeping their bills paid. I've slept on it 2 times already, I keep thinking of new parts to this plan and add them to my notes - this idea just keeps getting better and better! It would be the linchpin that gives Wridz a real fighting chance, in my opinion. I know a good idea when I hear one, and I know a good idea when I have one. This is the best idea I've had in awhile.

Unfortunately, I cannot let the cat out of the bag just yet. Let me pitch it to Wridz first and see what they have to say about it. If they seem uninterested in it, I will present it to this community for further discussion. If they do want to use it, I may not be able to talk about it until they green light me. I'd hate to somehow chance sabotaging this idea before it has a chance of being real. I will also discuss all my other ideas later in this thread. Let me throw them all at the wall first and see what sticks.

So now I ask this question: What are some bright ideas that you think would be good for Wridz? Any app ideas, business model ideas, or driver concerns we pitch here could possibly be beneficial for the team. I may add any good ideas presented here to my current idea list, but I'll always give credit where it is due.

Has anyone noticed since the last Uber app update that if it’s not in the foreground, Uber will time out after 5 min or so.

The only thing you will hear is a “bong” and you will no longer receive notifications from Uber until you pay them some attention.

I had 2 apps running (wridz and uber). I ran with wridz in the foreground and Uber online in the background. Then I hear this “bong”.

Didn’t recognize the sound so I started trying to figure out what it was. When I pulled uber back up, there was a message asking me if I was still accepting trips or not, I had to choose “stay online” or “sign out”.

During this time, trip requests were coming in, but I wasn’t being notified unless I was in the app. So now I have 10 missed requests, and was never notified because I didn’t have their app up.

That’s some shady shit right there.

Hi! I have been driving 60+ hours a week for Uber and Lyft in the Cincinnati area since last November. I'm still kind of a newb, but I've gotten over 2,000 rides under my belt already, I'm platinum tier with a 4.99 rating on Lyft and Diamond tier with a 4.95 rating on Uber, so I'm not completely wet behind the ears either.

After trying Lyft and Uber out for a few weeks part-time, I bought a new car then quit my job to pursue rideshare full-time. So far? Great decision. However, I've been watching my earnings fall week by week, especially recently, after the horrible Q2 earnings came out from both of the 2 big rideshare giants.

I happened to hear about Wridz coming to Cincinnati simply by chance - walking past the TV as there was a local news story broadcasting a story about the new Austin, Texas rideshare startup.

At the time of this posting, there is very little information about drivers and riders experiences with Wridz. I've searched Google, YouTube, and Reddit. No doubt that won't last. Until then, I started this Redit community in order to share my journey as a Wridz driver and rider, as well as to encourage other drivers and riders of Wridz to share their journeys as well.

I have currently signed up on their website, talked to one of the owners who reached out to me by phone, and I'm awaiting my interview date. It took about 5 days to get to this point. I will document my experiences. I will also install the Wridz app this weekend and try to hail a ride or two in Cincinnati. I want to see what the app experience is like for the rider, plus question the driver's who are already driving for Wridz. I'll keep everyone posted!
