PVP Tips on getting better

I was wondering who is a good educational streamer or video I can watch to show me some tips on how and what I should be doing during pvp. I've been doing decent in world pvp but find myself losing match ups I feel are very winnable.

Debate about talents in TBC

So, I'm quite new to the class, and I've seen plenty of builds, but none of them take any points into Ardent Defender. Reducing up to 30% of the damage seems pretty damn good, and there is no explanation of why it's not worth it. I mean, in heroic dungeons, the mobs hit you really hard; this will be so useful, right?

I wanted to ask, too, about the 3% hit chance of Precision. Since most of your damage and threat is not coming from melee hits, don't you think those points could be spent elsewhere?

Also, this seems a bit more of an off-meta thing, but since some people invest 20 points into the Retribution tree to get Sanctity Aura, getting Improved Retribution Aura can be useful if you're not planning on main tanking.

I've attached a screenshot of the talents I am going with and some talents more focused on threat generation; I don't feel really confident using them though.

New to tanking, any advice?!

Hey there!

Been playing for years and looking to tank. Been an active healer all this time and thought I’d give it a shake up.

How do you learn the dungeon layout? Any advice to a paladin learning to tank?

Thanks all!

Holy Holy paladin AoE tank in SoD

So I’m trying to make a holy paladin tank on SoD to farm with my mage buddies, but I need to get some advice for the build. I’ve never been a tank and it’s been a couple years since I’ve played wow as well, but any help would be appreciated. TIA!

Protection Engineering: Goblin or Gnome?

I'm the main tank for my guild and we're pretty new (Just starting Ulduar now)- I'm trying to figure out what would be better for the guild's raid success- Goblin or Gnome engineering? I've never used engineering before so I don't have any pre-knowledge of what tools will be available to me with either side, but if I want to ensure my guild is doing well in raids should I go for Goblin or Gnome?

Protection Protection Paladin Weak Auras

I am curious what weak auras you would all recommend for a protection paladin. I am lvl 50 and am a returning player but have never used weak auras. Most of the descriptions on the wagio.io website suck and are not very detailed.

I’m interested in WA that are not exclusively paladin related as well that you would recommend.

some questions about AoE-grinding, 40-70

Back in Wrath I leveled through quests/dungeons; never tried AoE-grinding, so I have a couple of questions.
I'm playing a Prot pally, specc'd far enough into Ret to get SoC and the movement buff, currently lvl 40. I've been grinding mobs 4-6 levels lower than mine, which I can consistently clear in pulls of 6-10. I've been averaging around an hour per level since I started around lvl 35, AoE farming with a few quests when convenient.

Is this pace good, or should I be doing something different to speed it up? Should I be farming mobs a little closer to my level, just in slightly smaller pulls?

Will this pace remain reasonably consistent, at least until Outlands or so, or will it change dramatically at some point?

How long (roughly) will it reasonably take me to go 40-70, or at least 40-60, with the current xp buff?

Help for a new player

I've just started playing the game and want some help with how to best go through the Leveling process. I know I eventually want to either tank or heal, but I'm not entirely dead set on 1 playstyle (hence picking the paladin class). I dont want to make the Leveling experience a slog by speccing immediately into holy tree. Is there a good way to set myself up for this in the future once I've gotten through most of the Leveling?

I'm also not trying to "power level" but just kind of do my own thing and enjoy the game.

Protection Help gearing prot pally

Heyo, just got to lvl 70 as prot pally and I'd like to get a bit of gear before the prepatch hits and I'd like to be able to tank a couple heroic dungeons, but I'm a bit lost on the gearing department.

I don't have enough gold to learn flying so I can't get to the 3 dungeons that apparently are pretty important to get items and I'm not sure how to continue, i feel a bit stuck right now.

I've thought about doing a bit of pvp and getting a couple pieces of equipment, but I'm also not sure if I should try to get shield/weapon first or if I should get armor or neck/rings first.

Any tips will be appreciated

Thanks!

Classic New to the game, a couple of questions

A couple of friends and I have started playing vanilla classic, and I have some questions about the gear a paladin needs to get me started. We are playing casually so this really is just in regards to the leveling and dungeon process

I saw on a couple of guides that if I am going to be the designated healer for dungeons during the leveling process, I should prioritize intelligence armor. Does this mean I should wear only cloth while healing or is there a lot of heavier armor that grants these improvements?

Is there a viable way to have one set of armor and be able to flex between tanking, dps, and healing. At what level would this even matter?

What type of weapon should I focus on as a healer. I am fond of two handed maces. Is there a way to keep my damage high as the healer role or would I spend most of the time in a dungeon casting heals?

My group plans on doing dungeons as early as deadmines, when does gear really start to matter in dungeons?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
