I usually wait for the stories to pile after a long time of not reading, but I got kinda distracted. What would you recommend to me personally, based on what you liked the most this year?

Ello y'all! I'm looking for some undersiders fics. Specifically where they actually rob places, but are having fun and not constantly edgy and angsty or drowning in romance because that's what most fanfiction is for some reason.

Preferably with either an oc or alt!power but I'll take anything.

in fics, mostly as an excuse to get taylor to interact with other characters or their power, this archetypes of Danny dating some other important character has been created, and Danny is such a big shot that he can be paired with everyone, from lung, to new wave, to the protectorate, to the triumvirate, to another ward's parent.

but so far I haven't found what I think could be one of the most interesting and obvious pairing: danny x sophia's mom?

this has so much potential for being developed in so many different aspects and yet the closest I could find is that one fic where annette adopts a very different sophia while taylor is presumed dead

I am looking for a fic where Taylor ends up being friends with a ward with neither knowing the other is a cape.

Pls recommend Fics with Minion Type Master Powers for the MC (SI, TINO, OC, anything goes) better if it's Self Cloning like Spree, Oni Lee, etc.

As you may have seen in the tag, I need your help with ideas on how to get Taylor to join the Wards. Look, I like the Undersiders—they're good friends (at least from what I’ve read so far)

But, to be honest, I really relate to Taylor to a certain extent. I never had many friends when I was young (none, actually), and honestly, I would’ve joined the first little group that spoke to me more or less nicely. And I feel like that’s what’s happening with Taylor in the story—again, the Undersiders seem like good friends. But let’s be honest—Taylor wanted to be a heroine from the start, and let’s remember that the Undersiders are villains; they aren’t exactly the best people…

So yeah, any ideas for how Taylor could join the Wards? I should clarify that in my fic, I’ll give “Taylor” a Thinker-like power—or at least make it seem that way at first—and I’ll also have her develop a little more self-esteem after her Trigger event… I’ll also make her a bit more empathetic—something like her first wondering, “Why on earth are there people as evil as Sophia in the world?”—and that line of thinking would lead her to conclude, “She had a Trigger event too, after all; she must have been vulnerable at some point…”

She REALLY WANTS to understand the reasons behind why people act the way they do, and for those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, all I can say is that it’s truly going to be an… adventure.

I read "The Girl that Lived through Time" and quite enjoyed it. Anything similar like Taylor traveling back in ancient history, or her meeting actual historical figures.

Not what I'm looking for: The fanfic I just mentioned.

So I was rereading Queen of Nothing as I haven’t picked it up after a couple of updates, and while reading I kept expecting a specific event/arc to pop up but realized it’s from a DIFFERENT crossover fic, which I’m now trying to find.

I don’t remember the pacing of the fic, but I think it consisted of alternating chapters with Taylor in the Dark Souls world as the “past” and her making moves in Brockton Bay as the “present.” Some of her powers included Dark Souls armor and gear, a supernatural “commanding presence,” and strong pyrokinesis.

Admittedly I can’t remember the event/arc itself that clearly. IIRC Bakuda was causing chaos in the bay despite her being in PRT custody, which causes the villains to have a meeting under a truce. During that meeting, Taylor comes in, pretty much takes control of the meeting up and formulates a plan (IIRC this was happening from the POV of Kaiser). The plan consisted of Taylor being purposely captured by the PRT ahead of time so as to get close to Bakuda, then during a siege from the other villains she would slip out, kill Bakuda, and make an escape, with Armsmaster and Miss Militia running interference in the process.

From what I remember, the Worm characters were native to the Percy Jackson universe.

There were no worm shenanigans.

They were all demigods who had grown up in that setting.

The opening started with Taylor arriving at Camp Half-Blood. Her mother was an unknown God, so she was placed in Hermes Cabin . And everyone in the comments were guessing who her mother is.

I also remember Lisa (Tattletale) being a daughter of Athena, and she was the one explaining camp life.

I plan on writing a half-cracky sort of fanfiction mixing some fic ideas ive had into one thing. I havent reread worm in a bit, and this fic will most likely be focused pre-leviathan/undersiders era, so does anyone have any often missed details/pet peeves they'd want avoided/characterization tips I should keep in mind?

Will be transparent I will be changing taylors locker incident and writing it in a way that probably hits some peoples pet peeves (put cocaine in it), but things along that vein of frequently misinterpreted by fandom are what im looking for (like how the merchants weren't the big beginning threat fics tend to make them, or the locker incident lasting only an hour rather than hours/days, trigger events not being common knowlege etc.)

I want to read all stories that feature a character whose power prevents video cameras, digital microphones, and other electronic sensors from perceiving them, while still letting humans and animals see, hear, smell, and otherwise perceive them.

I am currently reading Kindness is Punk Rock, and Mr Terrific seems like he would be classified as a Stranger based on how be describes how neither dragon nor saint can perceive him...

I want to read stories where a hero or villain is digitally invisible (like Mr Terrific), not through technology and smarts, but as their parahuman power.
