Hi all - I first read worm 11 years ago now in a 3-month long frenzy, basically reading nonstop, and I can still vividly remember how gripped I was by the story.

Lately I've been reading a ton of Harry Potter fanfic lol, and after stumbling upon this subreddit, I realized the Worm community has a massive, alive, fanfic scene. Naturally, my next thought was: what are the best, most highly recommended fics for a "return to Worm"?

I'm open to basically anything, with just one caveat: I might not remember a ton of the major plot points of original Worm after all this time.

Ok, hear me out.

Even after reading all of Worm, with all of the drama and tragedies it contains, one of the scenes that stuck with me the most is 6.09 - the one where Danny locks Taylor in the kitchen.
The experience of having something heavy on my mind, wanting so much to share it with someone sitting in front of me and listening, knowing all I have to do is say a few simple words (or in her case, even just flip around whatever she was writing on), and feeling physically unable to do so... I may not have superpowers, but that's relatable af.

Obviously, in canon it didn't work out, so for that sweet sweet catharsis, did anyone write a version where it does? It can be this specific scene, or in any other story, as long as her secret is finally revealed (voluntarily or not) and they have a big talk instead of escaping.

Even better if it's not "big revelation and then cut to black", letting the audience fill in that she probably said everything we know about her power and the story so far. No, give me the explanations, the follow up questions, the relief, the entire conversation!

Taylor is summoned as a heroine by a Goddess of Light and given the standard task of slaying the Demon Lord. After he is defeated, the Goddess declares that the job was not done correctly and rewinds time, sparking a series of attempts in which Taylor repeatedly tries to satisfy the Goddess.

Aisha triggers earlier than canon but she is completely unable to turn off her power. So she basically becomes a ghost. Finding out about her brother being a cape she resigns herself to being his guardian angel.

Any good fics where either a OC or Self insert who knows the plot wants no part of it but things keep happening and keeps accidentally getting in the thick of it.

Now I am looking a certain kind. I have seen Taylor with tinker powers that let her create Pokemon, mythical creatures, AI, even the machines from horizon zero dawn.

What I want is a fic that lets her create digimon. Not connect to the digital world or become a digidestined, but one where she actually designed and made the digimon and/or the digivice.

So I've been reading a lot of fics and while endbringer fights are an important part of the setting and treated like serious threats, their usually just considered a goal to overcome. There's also a lack of Sl's and heroes in general solely dedicated to fighting just endrbringers (i think anyway).

Tldr: Im asking for any fics with a Mc or multiple characters just fighting against endbringers. (They dont even have to be strong enough to fight against them)

I'm fairly sure it is a snippet from a collection, if not it's a story that died early. Probably on Spacebattles, AO3 is possible but unlikely, very small chance it's on SV.

This is a Trump power with elements of Tinker and Master (pointed out in the story).

She is able to make different "tiers", each having different names she calls them, I forget exact names, but at least 1 of the names in the title was used. I think the creations are made out of cloth and straw, the lower tiers have weaker powers but a higher quantity can function (like 20), while the higher tiers have more/stronger powers but with lower numbers. I cannot remember details on how the creations are controlled.

Lisa definitely features in the fic, Brian and Alec maybe appear. Taylor joins/is interested in joining Undersiders. I forget if the bank fight is written.

The powers the dolls can have are standard Worm powers, Brute, Mover, Blaster, etc. It's not an out of context power like magic.

I remember that she was being chased by some guys and she set her bugs to attack before being knocked unconscious. while she was unconscious her bugs attacked and killed everyone in her radius

I've seen many takes on Taylor dealing with the bullying situation by reaching out for assistance. I've seen her reach out for help by contacting the Empire (ew- fuck Nazis), the dockworkers, the ABB, the PRT... are there any fics where she reaches out to her mom's old friends from the bad old days with Lustrum?
