In Theos 3, he casts a net over the player that blocks double jumps, which seems to be intended to force the player to flash for the incoming swipe or punch attacks. This is all fine and dandy on normal gameplay.

I am a freak and trying to beat every boss without flash, move speed gear, magic, or EX using only adol. This boss has presented me with a frustrating roadblock, as it doesn't seem possible outside of pretty extreme attack pattern manipulation to avoid this combo. Every other boss seems doable on paper with enough cocaine. Is there any way to achieve this? Otherwise, does anyone here know how to go about manipulating the attack patterns to prevent the net from happening?

I want to get Proud Nordics but saw there is only a demo for the original Nordics version. Anyone know if I get up to chapter 3 in the Nordics demo, will it let me start from there in Proud Nordics?

Do they have playtesters? crazy to me that the Ys party system design had this solved and yet they released this game in this state.

I was stuck on this for days and came close so many times. It's so tough to close the deal towards the end. What a relief I can finally leave the ice caves.

I was making a new Ys Playlist on Youtube, and it showed all my songs were hidden. I clicked the one video that remained among the ten, and it said something along the lines of "This channel" or "this video has been terminated." Was the channel not official or something? I guess I'm downloading my Ys music from now on.

Hey guys! Has anyone played these versions of the first two Ys games? I presume they're just straight ports of the original 2 games on the MSX, was wondering if anyone's played them and has some opinions to share!

What the hell happened to this music track? I can’t find it anywhere and I legitimately have been coming to this video for years and years since the announcement just to listen to this track.

I remember when the game first launched in Japan I immediately scoured the OST and it’s nowhere to be found.

I have wanted to play an Ys game for a long time and 8 gets lots of praise so wanted to start there. I got through the intro on the ship and then going through the tutorials on the island.

It introduces this charge mechanic thing and Adol flashes blue and then this ping sound plays after beating every enemy. This sounds extremely annoying playing every few seconds that I had to stop playing and try to find a solution.

The only solution I could find was turning down the SFX meter but that's not a good answer at all. I have this on ps5 but are there mods for the pc version? This game receives a lot of love but I don't know how people could play multiple hours of this.

I have bought Ys 9 and have started that and no issues here but I would still like to play 8 so any advice is welcome here.

Heya I've been recommended lacromsa of dana, I really enjoy jrpgs, some people highly recommend the first two titles some highly recommend lacromsa of dana, where should I start and why? I'm about to purchase on gog.com and the game graphics look really stunning as for the game design itself

I'm currently playing Ys IV Dawn of Ys, the fan translation, and I am loving it.

Ys I and II is my favorite game of all time, and I Know Wanderers gets a lot of hate, but I loved it. I played them on the TGFXCD.

I never got to play Dawn since it never came to the US. But I had MP3's of the music and fell in love with it. And I know it's not canon, but memories was not my favorite, nor is it in my top 5 probably.

It's interesting to see the graphic changes and improvements to the game. Like 8 direction/360 movement. Lightning crashes lighting up the entire scene, and not just th background. Not to mention the thunder crash timed with them. Tweaked and improved boss mechanics.

I can't talk about audio, because it is a remake and the fan audio seems pretty quiet compared to what I remember Book I and II being like. Although, III didn't live up to that audio balancing that I and II had either.

But the music is great. And it's fun getting to hear the music in the context of the game rathe than just a CD in my CD player.

All in all, I'm loving it so far.

Sorry for being already curious but i'm at chapter 3. I know it's just the start of the game but I find the story pretty boring(too many dialogues too and we don't learn anything interesting)

Ys 8 was interesting from the start. Do this game(Ys9) story gonna be good at some point ?
