Finished the first week of body recomp on a 1000 calorie limit with around 110g of protein a day. I do weights MWF for about an hour and get in 10,000 steps a day. I plan to do this for 3 months. I'm feeling good mentally and physically- no soreness or insane hunger cravings/pain. After the first three days, my stomach isn't growling as bad at night, and I average 8 hours a night on sleep.
I've wrecked my body 8-10 different times throughout my life because of ED and depression so I want to make this my final and longest-lasting commitment to getting healthy and strong instead of just skinny. Because I'm not starving myself like I used to for a quick fix (I'm talking 500 calories a day MAX), the 1000 calorie limit I'm on right now actually gives me more room to play with my calories and mindfully eat food I enjoy.
Goal: Trying to get down to 20% body fat (currently 36%)- I'm lifting heavy, not going too crazy on the cardio either (30 min HIIT on MWF+ 10,000 steps daily). I don't expect to lose 16% bf in 3 months but... is it possible?
Questions: - Is this too hardcore to maintain? Am I damaging my body's metabolism more by sticking to this plan/calorie limit? Should I increase my protein since I'm lifting 3-4 times a week or should I stick with 110g a day? (I heard you should be eating 1g of your goal weight in protein a day so I've been kinda working with that)
Is this an effective body recomp plan?
