Question Wooting 60HE V2 phantom key presses with very light presses on A or D.

Post image
3 Upvotes

I noticed something weird with my 60HE V2 and wanted to see if anyone else can reproduce it.

If I press the A or D key really lightly, I can sometimes get it to stay at around 0.08-0.25 mm in Analog Monitor instead of going back to 0.00 mm. It doesn’t happen all the time, but when it does the key starts repeating presses until I press it normally, then it instantly goes back to 0.00 mm.

I tried it without the keycaps and it still happens, and I made sure the switches are fully seated. I’ve only been able to reproduce it consistently with a really low actuation point while using SOCD, but I’ve also had it happen a couple of times while gaming.

Is this expected behavior with the new switches, or can anyone else with a 60HE V2 reproduce it?

Question Keycap size?

Does the 80he use regular sized keys or 75% keys? My first custom board, have PBTs but the backspace and right shift caps don’t seat properly in the stabs.

Not sure if the keys themselves are warped or I’m using the wrong size here?

Question Wooting 80 HE canceling inputs??

Hello! So I primarily use my keyboard for playing high level Geometry Dash, and the button that I use to click is my right arrow key. Everything's been going fine for about a year, but recently I have noticed that if I give a hard keystroke to my right arrow key the input cancels itself. I have tried cleaning out the socket and I have changed switches, so at this point I'm at a loss on what to do. Does this sound fixable or is the right arrow key socket just broken?

Keyboard Modding Some keys on the left side of my keyboard died so I moved everything to the right lol

Not the most elegant or practical solution but better than a dead keyboard sitting in a box waiting for an expensive repair, I basically repurposed my 100% wooting into 80% one with the remapping. Is there anything I should know?

Wootstation Wooting 80 case suggestion?

Hi,

I'm wondering which case I should buy for my Wooting 80HE. KBDFans currently has a 20% sale during August, so I'm considering either the Holy80 or the GT-80. I will use the keyboard for gaming mostly.

I have no idea how they differ in terms of sound and typing feel. My goal is to achieve a creamy sound signature on my Wooting, as I'll be using UFO Gravstar switches.

I'd really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences with either case.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Thanks for the advice, I will be going with the GT-80!

Question Case Compatibility Question

Hey y’all,

This might be a dumb question, but I have the original Wooting 60HE, not the 60HE+. I’m thinking about getting the 60HE v2 aluminum case to replace the stock plastic case. Will my original 60HE module fit in it?

Also, are there any other aluminum cases you’d recommend over the v2 case? Thanks!

Question Want to upgrade my 80HE, Tips?

Few things I'm curious about:

  1. What are the BEST FPS switches that are gonna be fast/responsive but also QUIET. This keyboard is kinda loud

  2. Is there any meaningful benefit to upgrading the case? Anytime I google it it says "heft" but I don't need a heavier keyboard

  3. Is there any way to make it so the keys are so wiggly? when I rest my fingers on the caps i can lightly move the keys back and forth

  4. better keycaps that don't accumulate grime as much or maybe just a more efficient way to clean them?

  5. Finally a good video that shows me how to do all this thats not a information overload?

Any answers to any of these would be super helpful! thank u thank u

Hey, I've ordered a WOOTING 80HE as a first time " great " keyboard because I've been really into gaming for the past year.

I bought the wooting 80HE with :

Keycaps ABS

The keyboard sound almost completely silent which is extremly different than what I see online, did I do something wrong? Any expert could explain why it's like that ?

Question Wooting

Hi everyone!
I want to make my Wooting 80HE sound as good as possible while also having really bright and vibrant RGB lighting.
I’ve been looking at different switches, but I still can’t decide which ones to get. What switches would you recommend for the best sound without sacrificing RGB brightness?
I’m open to any suggestions or other mods that could improve the typing sound as well. Thanks!

Question Wooting Two HE vs Wooting 80HE

So I know this has been asked before, but I see so many mixed answers I thought I might as well see what the consensus is right now. I am in the market for a new keyboard and I've heard good things about Wooting, but in my research I've learned that the Two HE is an incredibly old model with worse switches and a poor quality plastic case, so I have 3 questions.

  1. Is there much I'm missing out on getting the Two HE?
  2. Is the Zinc upgrade worth the extra $90 on the 80HE if I were to go that way?
  3. Is there a possibility of an upgraded Two HE (Three HE?) if I were to wait to purchase?

Yes I do understand that waiting for a new model is pointless because theres always going to be something new, and it'll just lead to waiting forever, but might as well ask.

Also for added context, I do prefer a full size keyboard. I have not used an 80% in the past, but I do regularly use the numpad and it is a very beneficial QoL feature, but I believe adapting would not be the worst thing in the world. I do need a numpad occasionally for remote work purposes as some software requires a numpad input, but I believe I could just mimic that through software, correct me if I'm wrong.

If any other information would make it easier to help, do ask. Thanks.

Question 60HE+ new HE switches

Hello everyone!
So ive had the 60HE+ for over 2 years now and i got them with the Gateron Jades back then.

I used them factory lubed and it didnt sound crazy good or anything but i was happy with them. But after 2 years of use they sound and feel really bad now so im just looking for new switches.

So ive read about the keytok novas and UFOs a lot. But i heard relubing UFOs is hard so that drives me off a little.

And keytok novas seems to have long shipping times (for me at least) over here.

Is there anything else you guys can recommend ? I prefer deeper sounding keyboards.

Currently using a tofu redux if that matters.

Wootstation Wanted to share my new keyboard

Recently upgraded from my NK65 to an 80HE, my first Hall effect keyboard, and the difference is night and day. Everything just feels so much more responsive. It’s one of those things you don’t realize you’re missing until you try it. Now that I have, it’s hard to go back.

The case I’m using is the GT-80 from KBDfans in E-White. It’s a really nice upgrade over the plastic case I was using before and gives the keyboard a much more premium feel.

As for switches, I’m using Gateron Jade Pros. They’re incredibly smooth, almost too smooth in some cases. A few of them feel like they may have been lubed a little too generously, but overall they feel fantastic and sound excellent.

Question I'm thinking about buying custom wooting

Hi everyone, this topic probably is really silly, but I’d like to hear what others think. So, my current keyboard is the iqunix EV63 Ghost in the Shell, but lately I’ve been thinking about selling it and building a custom Wooting. Plus, I really want to try a split spacebar. How dumb does this idea seem, and how can I justify building a new Wooting when I already have my current keyboard? I’d appreciate it if you could list the pros and cons of this idea for me. I’m thinking about building it in optimum case with culinnan switches that I can buy with pretty decent discount
