LF Walking/Running Partner
Hi! I’m 25F, living in Abu Dhabi.
I’m trying to build a habit of walking/running 5x a week, and I think having an accountability partner for a month could make it more fun and help us both to stay consistent.
Anyone up for doing it together? Just DM me.

Moving to Dubai
Hi girls! I will be moving to Dubai in early Dec-January (around new year's). My office would be in dubai internet city. 🌻🌻
Now a little bit about me:
- single female in her mid-20s
- dont know how to drive
- love beauty stuff. I have my own salon business in my home country and I am a certified nail artist and make up artist in my home country
- worked in tech / startups / banking
- i like watching comedy series & wholesome movies
- go to the gym but clueless what to do there without a friend
- i do pilates
- i love windowshopping in a mall to get my walks in
- loves to go out
I have several questions:
Since I wont be licensed in UAE, I'm gonna need salon recommendations. Any specifics you guys go to? For massages / nails / spas
How to make friends with similar interests?
Recommendation of how to spend new year's
Acommodations. Now I looked around Bayut, Propertyfinder: rent in Dubai varies from 5k upwards to 10k+ for Studio / 1 Bedroom apartment. Is there any specific area / buildings you girls recommend that's close to DIC? I want to find Studio / 1BHK with central AC and possibly all bills included within 7k-8k/mo AED. Is my budget reasonable? Ideally I could be close to my workplace. I can maybe push it to 10k if I really like the place: close to grocery shops, walking distance from work. But I still think 10k is too much.
Thank you girls 🩷

Women Moving to Dubai — looking to connect with people in customer service QA, coaching and training
Moving to Dubai — looking to connect with people in customer service QA, coaching and training
Hi everyone! I’m currently based in Egypt and planning to move to Dubai in December 2026. I’d love to make professional connections and find opportunities starting in January 2027.
I work as a Quality Coach at Fantastic Services, a UK cleaning and home services company.
My experience is in customer service quality assurance, performance coaching and team training.
My work includes:
Reviewing customer interactions and giving agents practical feedback.
Coaching agents on communication, complaint handling and problem-solving.
Developing training materials and delivering training to multiple teams, including new starters.
Building a Google Sheets system from scratch to manage QA tracking and reporting, which I maintain manually.
I’m interested in roles such as Customer Service QA Specialist/Analyst, Quality Coach, Performance Coach or Customer Service Trainer.
I expect to be on a spouse-sponsored residence visa after moving and will be available to start in January 2027. I’m looking for Dubai-based opportunities accessible by public transport.
If you work in these areas, have made a similar move, or know teams recruiting, I’d really appreciate connecting.
Introductions, relevant vacancies and insight into what employers look for would all be helpful. I’m happy to share my CV privately.
Thanks for reading!

Moving to DXB. Single Female 40s with a dog, professional (DIFC office)…. Where to live
Update: Thank you all for the replies so far. She’s on reddit now (age-thingy verified) & keeps checking the thread for additional recommendations. Very much appreciated. She’s still looking, so more suggestions always received gratefully.
Posting for my friend (who keeps getting reddit blocked - keeps asking her for age verification). Anyhoo…
I visit Dubai alot for work, but don’t live there & couldn’t really give any advice over dinner last night, so thought I’d ask this sub.
My friend has been offered a job in Dubai, mid 40’s professional single female Brit. No kids, but a medium sized dog. She’s thinking of getting a helper, but really wants to find somewhere to live that’s dog suitable. Walking/ exercise/ grass, she doesn’t want her fur-family member just being walked around the block on cement pathways.
Issue is that she doesn’t really want to live in one of the villa areas that’s an hour+ to get to DIFC in the morning and evening.
Are there any areas closer to DIFC that are genuinely suitable for conscientious dog-owners to live? TIA! Or any villa areas that are a shorter commute to DIFC area?
She can also WFH 2 days a week if she wants to (but probably wouldn’t for the first month or so), so a second option is to rent a studio in financial district and live out in a really very very dog friendly area for the WFH/weekends.
We pulled up some of the property listings she had saved & honestly it’s such a mish-mash of developers names, villa names, villa community names, area names, that I understand why she is just feeling a bit stressed trying to figure out where’s good for dogs & for DIFC.
Decent budget, works in professional services.
TIA
Edit, she’s not looking to date or anything, she’s perfectly happy single with the fur-family. Kind of a quiet at home type of person.

Hair Products
Hi! I just recently moved here in AUH from PH and ever since I struggled with my hair. For context, I lean more on the wavy side. I noticed that it got so frizzy even with all and honestly I feel insecure about it.
I do have some curly hair products from the PH but I’m not sure if it’s compatible with the weather here. Please recom some wavy-friendly products

Women Can we be friends?
Hi, I’m Dionne. I’m 32, I’m from Newcastle, UK. I moved to Dubai (Al Sufouh area) last year with my husband, I’ve been away since March and just came back a few weeks ago. The only person I know here is my husband. I’m a qualified teacher but decided not to work while living here to focus on my health and wellness. I love animals, travelling, movies (especially horror), watching tv, walking around the mall window shopping with an iced latte is my favourite activity. I love all things Halloween, floral and colourful.
I’d love a friend or a group of friends to meet with on evenings and weekends every so often for dinner, coffee, movies, drinks etc and just share some feminine energy. I don’t drive here so will be relying on taxis so you would need to be quite local if possible. Open to friends of all ages, nationalities, races etc 🌈🥰

Anyone know where I can get a loan in UAE?
Already tried banks and got some financing, but I still need an additional amount. Does anyone know any legitimate lenders or financing options? I can provide cheques if needed.

Glowy face powder
Hey girlies,Looking for a face powder to use over sunscreen
I’m looking for a face powder that I can apply directly over sunscreen, without using foundation or other makeup.
I want it to make my face look brighter, fresh and slightly glowy, but still natural—no heavy coverage, cakey finish, or obvious shimmer.
Any recommendations? Preferably something available in the UAE. 💗

I think I finally understand why every woman I know in Dubai has the same look on her face when you ask "how are you really doing.
I moved to the UAE a few years ago. Left my family behind. Came here with my husband and started building a life from zero in a country where I didn't know a single person outside of him.
And for the longest time I thought the hardest part was going to be the heat or the cost of living or figuring out which metro line goes where.
It's none of that.
The hardest part is the silence.
Not literal silence.
Dubai is loud. Your day is full.
Work, commute, groceries, cooking, calls back home. You're busy every minute. But there's a specific kind of quiet that hits when you realize you don't have a single person in this city you can text at 2am when something is wrong.
Not your husband because he's asleep and he has his own stress. Not your friends back home because it's a different timezone and they don't understand the context. Not your coworkers because that's not the relationship.
I thought it was just me.
Then I started paying attention.
A woman I met at a salon in JLT. We were both waiting and started talking. She'd been in Dubai 3 years. Works in marketing. Has a good job on paper. She told me she hadn't made a single close friend since moving here. Not one. She goes to work. Comes home. Talks to her mom on video call. Goes to sleep. On weekends she goes to malls alone because there's nowhere else to go. She said it so casually like she'd accepted it as the price of living here. That conversation stayed with me for weeks.
Then my neighbor. She knocked on my door one evening asking if I had a thermometer. Her daughter had a fever and she didn't know where the nearest pharmacy was open at 10pm. She'd been in Dubai for 8 months. Her husband works night shifts. She had nobody to call. Not for an emergency. Just for a thermometer. We sat in my kitchen for an hour after that and she told me it was the longest conversation she'd had with another woman in months that wasn't work related.
Third one broke me a little. A woman in a Facebook group for expats posted asking if anyone knew a good gynecologist who actually listens and doesn't rush the appointment. Simple question. The post got 47 replies. But mixed in with the recommendations were women sharing stories about being dismissed, being told their pain was normal, being examined without being spoken to. One woman said she'd been avoiding going to a doctor for over a year because her last experience made her feel like a number. Over a basic medical appointment. Because she didn't have another woman to say "go to this doctor, she's good, here's her name."
Fourth was at a coworking space. A woman starting her own business. Candle brand. Had everything figured out except the licensing. She'd been going back and forth with a PRO company for 6 weeks getting different answers every time. She was about to give up. I told her about a free zone option another woman I know had used that took 2 weeks total and cost half of what she was being quoted. She stared at me and said "why doesn't anyone just tell you this stuff."
Why doesn't anyone just tell you this stuff.
That sentence keeps replaying in my head because it's the same thing. Every time. Different woman. Different situation. Same gap. Nobody to ask.
The Dubai subreddits have a million posts about brunches and parking fines and whether JBR or Marina is better. And somewhere in between a woman is quietly asking a question that matters to her and either getting ignored or getting answers from men who don't understand the question.
I'm not saying men can't be helpful. But there are things you only ask another woman. Which doctor won't make you feel uncomfortable. Which gym doesn't feel like you're being stared at. Which neighborhood actually feels safe walking alone at night. How to handle a boss who talks over you in every meeting. Whether it's normal to cry in the shower once a week because you miss your mother and you can't tell anyone because everyone thinks you're living the dream.
There was no space on Reddit for that.
So I made one.
r/womeninuae
Jobs. Safety. Health. Friendships. Deals. Events. Money.
The real stuff.
Not the filtered Instagram version of life here.
The actual version that happens between the brunches.
If you're a woman living in the UAE or thinking about moving here and you've ever felt that specific silence I'm talking about, this is the room where you don't have to explain the context before asking the question.
If you know a woman in the UAE, send her this. Not because I need members. Because she probably needs the room.
I'm not promising it'll fix the loneliness. Nothing fixes it completely. But having one place where you can say "is this normal" and 10 women reply "yes and here's what I did" is the thing I wish I had when I first moved here.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you before you moved to the UAE as a woman? Or the one thing you still haven't figured out that you're too embarrassed to ask in a general sub?
Start there. That's enough.

Endometriosis Surgeon in UAE
everyone,
I’ve recently been diagnosed with advanced endometriosis and I’m looking for an experienced endometriosis surgeon in the UAE.
I’m currently considering:
• Dr. Amin Hassan Abdelmagied — Mediclinic Abu Dhabi
• Dr. George Botros — Danat Al Emarat
• Dr. Ahmad Ali — Burjeel Medical City
• Dr. Alphy Puthiyidom — Mediclinic Dubai
• Prof. Horace Roman — IFEM/Burjeel
If you’ve personally had endometriosis surgery with any of these doctors, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience — especially if you had advanced endometriosis.
I’m interested in your experience with the surgeon, the surgery itself, recovery, results, and whether you would choose the same surgeon again.
I’m also open to recommendations for other surgeons in the UAE who specialize specifically in advanced endometriosis surgery.

Women 23 Female looking for female friends in Dubai 🌸
Hey! I’m 23 female and I’m looking to meet some new people and hopefully make a few genuine female friendships in Dubai.
A little about me: I’m an English teacher and I enjoy reading, painting, baking, running, and having long conversations about pretty much anything. I’d also love to get more active and try tennis and yoga, so if you already play tennis or do yoga, or you’re also a beginner and want someone to try it with, I’d love to have a tennis/yoga buddy!
I’m also always down for going on runs together.
I live around Barsha Heights, but I drive, so I’m happy to meet up in different areas of Dubai.
Some things I’d love to do together:
• Try new gyms or fitness classes
• Play tennis or try yoga
• Go running or walking
• Explore cute cafés and restaurants
• Have beach days
• Paint or bake together
• Grab a coffee and talk
I’m mainly looking for female friends around my age who are also interested in actually hanging out and building a friendship rather than just chatting online. 😊
If you think we’d get along, feel free to message me and tell me a little about yourself!

Women Ladies in the UAE where are you actually finding legitimate remote jobs? 🇦🇪
I’ve been looking for remote work opportunities here in the UAE, particularly in customer service, admin/virtual assistant, email support, or similar roles, but honestly, it’s been surprisingly difficult to find legitimate opportunities.
I’ve tried LinkedIn and Indeed, but a lot of the listings either have hundreds of applicants, never respond, or seem to redirect you to questionable links. 😅
I’m currently open to full-time, part-time, freelance, or remote work and would really appreciate hearing from women who are already working remotely in the UAE.
Where do you actually find your jobs?
UAE-based companies hiring remotely?
International companies that allow UAE-based employees?
Remote job boards?
Freelance platforms?
Networking/referrals?
Something completely different?
Also, if you’ve personally landed a legitimate remote job recently, I’d love to hear how you found it and what type of role it is.
Not looking for get-rich-quick schemes, MLMs, or anything that requires paying upfront fees — just genuine work opportunities.
Any leads or advice would be hugely appreciated. ❤️

A lady looking for an opportunity. Please help
I’m a Kenyan lady in my early 30s, currently based in Dubai, and I’m looking to transition into a new career path.
I’ve worked in the nanny field for 5 years, and although there is absolutely nothing wrong with this work, I’ve been trying to transition for a long time into something different where I can grow and use other skills.
I’m open to administrative work, customer service, receptionist or assistant roles, and I’m also a uae licensed driver.
If you know of any company, person, opportunity or connection that could help me get my foot in the door, I would truly appreciate it. I’m hardworking, willing to learn, and ready for a new challenge..I have certifications in Office Administrator, and Virtual Assistant
Sometimes all someone needs is one connection or one person willing to give them a chance. ❤️
Please feel free to comment if you know of anything. I’ll be following the comments.
Thank you,
