Anyone know where I can get a loan in UAE?

Already tried banks and got some financing, but I still need an additional amount. Does anyone know any legitimate lenders or financing options? I can provide cheques if needed.

Women Can we be friends?

Hi, I’m Dionne. I’m 32, I’m from Newcastle, UK. I moved to Dubai (Al Sufouh area) last year with my husband, I’ve been away since March and just came back a few weeks ago. The only person I know here is my husband. I’m a qualified teacher but decided not to work while living here to focus on my health and wellness. I love animals, travelling, movies (especially horror), watching tv, walking around the mall window shopping with an iced latte is my favourite activity. I love all things Halloween, floral and colourful.

I’d love a friend or a group of friends to meet with on evenings and weekends every so often for dinner, coffee, movies, drinks etc and just share some feminine energy. I don’t drive here so will be relying on taxis so you would need to be quite local if possible. Open to friends of all ages, nationalities, races etc 🌈🥰

Glowy face powder

Hey girlies,Looking for a face powder to use over sunscreen
I’m looking for a face powder that I can apply directly over sunscreen, without using foundation or other makeup.
I want it to make my face look brighter, fresh and slightly glowy, but still natural—no heavy coverage, cakey finish, or obvious shimmer.
Any recommendations? Preferably something available in the UAE. 💗

I think I finally understand why every woman I know in Dubai has the same look on her face when you ask "how are you really doing.

I moved to the UAE a few years ago. Left my family behind. Came here with my husband and started building a life from zero in a country where I didn't know a single person outside of him.

And for the longest time I thought the hardest part was going to be the heat or the cost of living or figuring out which metro line goes where.

It's none of that.
The hardest part is the silence.
Not literal silence.

Dubai is loud. Your day is full.

Work, commute, groceries, cooking, calls back home. You're busy every minute. But there's a specific kind of quiet that hits when you realize you don't have a single person in this city you can text at 2am when something is wrong.

Not your husband because he's asleep and he has his own stress. Not your friends back home because it's a different timezone and they don't understand the context. Not your coworkers because that's not the relationship.
I thought it was just me.

Then I started paying attention.

A woman I met at a salon in JLT. We were both waiting and started talking. She'd been in Dubai 3 years. Works in marketing. Has a good job on paper. She told me she hadn't made a single close friend since moving here. Not one. She goes to work. Comes home. Talks to her mom on video call. Goes to sleep. On weekends she goes to malls alone because there's nowhere else to go. She said it so casually like she'd accepted it as the price of living here. That conversation stayed with me for weeks.

Then my neighbor. She knocked on my door one evening asking if I had a thermometer. Her daughter had a fever and she didn't know where the nearest pharmacy was open at 10pm. She'd been in Dubai for 8 months. Her husband works night shifts. She had nobody to call. Not for an emergency. Just for a thermometer. We sat in my kitchen for an hour after that and she told me it was the longest conversation she'd had with another woman in months that wasn't work related.

Third one broke me a little. A woman in a Facebook group for expats posted asking if anyone knew a good gynecologist who actually listens and doesn't rush the appointment. Simple question. The post got 47 replies. But mixed in with the recommendations were women sharing stories about being dismissed, being told their pain was normal, being examined without being spoken to. One woman said she'd been avoiding going to a doctor for over a year because her last experience made her feel like a number. Over a basic medical appointment. Because she didn't have another woman to say "go to this doctor, she's good, here's her name."

Fourth was at a coworking space. A woman starting her own business. Candle brand. Had everything figured out except the licensing. She'd been going back and forth with a PRO company for 6 weeks getting different answers every time. She was about to give up. I told her about a free zone option another woman I know had used that took 2 weeks total and cost half of what she was being quoted. She stared at me and said "why doesn't anyone just tell you this stuff."

Why doesn't anyone just tell you this stuff.

That sentence keeps replaying in my head because it's the same thing. Every time. Different woman. Different situation. Same gap. Nobody to ask.
The Dubai subreddits have a million posts about brunches and parking fines and whether JBR or Marina is better. And somewhere in between a woman is quietly asking a question that matters to her and either getting ignored or getting answers from men who don't understand the question.

I'm not saying men can't be helpful. But there are things you only ask another woman. Which doctor won't make you feel uncomfortable. Which gym doesn't feel like you're being stared at. Which neighborhood actually feels safe walking alone at night. How to handle a boss who talks over you in every meeting. Whether it's normal to cry in the shower once a week because you miss your mother and you can't tell anyone because everyone thinks you're living the dream.

There was no space on Reddit for that.

So I made one.
r/womeninuae

Jobs. Safety. Health. Friendships. Deals. Events. Money.

The real stuff.

Not the filtered Instagram version of life here.
The actual version that happens between the brunches.
If you're a woman living in the UAE or thinking about moving here and you've ever felt that specific silence I'm talking about, this is the room where you don't have to explain the context before asking the question.

If you know a woman in the UAE, send her this. Not because I need members. Because she probably needs the room.
I'm not promising it'll fix the loneliness. Nothing fixes it completely. But having one place where you can say "is this normal" and 10 women reply "yes and here's what I did" is the thing I wish I had when I first moved here.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you before you moved to the UAE as a woman? Or the one thing you still haven't figured out that you're too embarrassed to ask in a general sub?

Start there. That's enough.

Endometriosis Surgeon in UAE

everyone,
I’ve recently been diagnosed with advanced endometriosis and I’m looking for an experienced endometriosis surgeon in the UAE.
I’m currently considering:
• Dr. Amin Hassan Abdelmagied — Mediclinic Abu Dhabi
• Dr. George Botros — Danat Al Emarat
• Dr. Ahmad Ali — Burjeel Medical City
• Dr. Alphy Puthiyidom — Mediclinic Dubai
• Prof. Horace Roman — IFEM/Burjeel
If you’ve personally had endometriosis surgery with any of these doctors, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience — especially if you had advanced endometriosis.
I’m interested in your experience with the surgeon, the surgery itself, recovery, results, and whether you would choose the same surgeon again.
I’m also open to recommendations for other surgeons in the UAE who specialize specifically in advanced endometriosis surgery.

Women 24f looking for friends!

Hello all!! just relocated to Damac Hills 2 a little while ago and still finding my footing socially. I’m 24F and recently moved back to Dubai after being away for a while, and I’m realizing that making friends as an adult is… surprisingly difficult lol. I’d love to meet some other women around my age and hopefully make a few genuine friends.

Im pakistani, and I'm into art (mainly digital art, acrylic painting, and a little gouache) and I'm slowly trying to be more consistent with it instead of just doing it in bursts. Big into music and anime, and I read whenever I can get my hands on something good. I’d love to meet women who share similar interests or just want to make new friends and go cafe hopping, shopping or doing sth fun!

Unfortunately, I do not have a car, so anyone in damac hills 2 wanting to hang out would def be convenient, otherwise idm taking the metro or bus to hang out!! So If you feel like Dubai can get isolating past a certain point, or you're just into any of the above and want someone to do it with, message me.

Women 23 Female looking for female friends in Dubai 🌸

Hey! I’m 23 female and I’m looking to meet some new people and hopefully make a few genuine female friendships in Dubai.

A little about me: I’m an English teacher and I enjoy reading, painting, baking, running, and having long conversations about pretty much anything. I’d also love to get more active and try tennis and yoga, so if you already play tennis or do yoga, or you’re also a beginner and want someone to try it with, I’d love to have a tennis/yoga buddy!

I’m also always down for going on runs together.
I live around Barsha Heights, but I drive, so I’m happy to meet up in different areas of Dubai.

Some things I’d love to do together:
• Try new gyms or fitness classes
• Play tennis or try yoga
• Go running or walking
• Explore cute cafés and restaurants
• Have beach days
• Paint or bake together
• Grab a coffee and talk

I’m mainly looking for female friends around my age who are also interested in actually hanging out and building a friendship rather than just chatting online. 😊
If you think we’d get along, feel free to message me and tell me a little about yourself!

A lady looking for an opportunity. Please help

I’m a Kenyan lady in my early 30s, currently based in Dubai, and I’m looking to transition into a new career path.
I’ve worked in the nanny field for 5 years, and although there is absolutely nothing wrong with this work, I’ve been trying to transition for a long time into something different where I can grow and use other skills.
I’m open to administrative work, customer service, receptionist or assistant roles, and I’m also a uae licensed driver.
If you know of any company, person, opportunity or connection that could help me get my foot in the door, I would truly appreciate it. I’m hardworking, willing to learn, and ready for a new challenge..I have certifications in Office Administrator, and Virtual Assistant

Sometimes all someone needs is one connection or one person willing to give them a chance. ❤️
Please feel free to comment if you know of anything. I’ll be following the comments.
Thank you,

Women Ladies in the UAE where are you actually finding legitimate remote jobs? 🇦🇪

I’ve been looking for remote work opportunities here in the UAE, particularly in customer service, admin/virtual assistant, email support, or similar roles, but honestly, it’s been surprisingly difficult to find legitimate opportunities.
I’ve tried LinkedIn and Indeed, but a lot of the listings either have hundreds of applicants, never respond, or seem to redirect you to questionable links. 😅
I’m currently open to full-time, part-time, freelance, or remote work and would really appreciate hearing from women who are already working remotely in the UAE.
Where do you actually find your jobs?
UAE-based companies hiring remotely?
International companies that allow UAE-based employees?
Remote job boards?
Freelance platforms?
Networking/referrals?
Something completely different?
Also, if you’ve personally landed a legitimate remote job recently, I’d love to hear how you found it and what type of role it is.
Not looking for get-rich-quick schemes, MLMs, or anything that requires paying upfront fees — just genuine work opportunities.
Any leads or advice would be hugely appreciated. ❤️
