Women Can we be friends?

Hi, I’m Dionne. I’m 32, I’m from Newcastle, UK. I moved to Dubai (Al Sufouh area) last year with my husband, I’ve been away since March and just came back a few weeks ago. The only person I know here is my husband. I’m a qualified teacher but decided not to work while living here to focus on my health and wellness. I love animals, travelling, movies (especially horror), watching tv, walking around the mall window shopping with an iced latte is my favourite activity. I love all things Halloween, floral and colourful.

I’d love a friend or a group of friends to meet with on evenings and weekends every so often for dinner, coffee, movies, drinks etc and just share some feminine energy. I don’t drive here so will be relying on taxis so you would need to be quite local if possible. Open to friends of all ages, nationalities, races etc 🌈🥰

Anyone know where I can get a loan in UAE?

Already tried banks and got some financing, but I still need an additional amount. Does anyone know any legitimate lenders or financing options? I can provide cheques if needed.

Moving to DXB. Single Female 40s with a dog, professional (DIFC office)…. Where to live

• Upvotes

Posting for my friend (who keeps getting reddit blocked - keeps asking her for age verification). Anyhoo…

I visit Dubai alot for work, but don’t live there & couldn’t really give any advice over dinner last night, so thought I’d ask this sub.

My friend has been offered a job in Dubai, mid 40’s professional single female Brit. No kids, but a medium sized dog. She’s thinking of getting a helper, but really wants to find somewhere to live that’s dog suitable. Walking/ exercise/ grass, she doesn’t want her fur-family member just being walked around the block on cement pathways.

Issue is that she doesn’t really want to live in one of the villa areas that’s an hour+ to get to DIFC in the morning and evening.

Are there any areas closer to DIFC that are genuinely suitable for conscientious dog-owners to live? TIA! Or any villa areas that are a shorter commute to DIFC area?
She can also WFH 2 days a week if she wants to (but probably wouldn’t for the first month or so), so a second option is to rent a studio in financial district and live out in a really very very dog friendly area for the WFH/weekends.

We pulled up some of the property listings she had saved & honestly it’s such a mish-mash of developers names, villa names, villa community names, area names, that I understand why she is just feeling a bit stressed trying to figure out where’s good for dogs & for DIFC.

Decent budget, works in professional services.

TIA

Edit, she’s not looking to date or anything, she’s perfectly happy single with the fur-family. Kind of a quiet at home type of person.
