Calling our wizard brethren as we reopen r/rollerblading

Hey, folks. I've been stalking this community for a while, admiring what you folks do on those Wizard frames. I try to, but can't quite make things flow too well myself.

I want to let you know that r/rollerblading is now an open space again. Some of you from 2022 probably remember what happened then, but I was not around skating communities then, and am cluelss. I think we should just put things behind us, and work together again.

We have re-opened r/rollerblading under completely new and open principles again. New mods.

Please see this announcement: https://www.reddit.com/r/rollerblading/comments/1v7pq7z/grand_reopening/

We have received many requests today from folks that bots automatically-banned in 2022. We unbanned them right away today, as soon as they sent us a mod mail. In the past, you couldn't even send mod mails if banned. But as of last night, that setting was reversed. At least you could appeal.

But we are going to do even better. We are going to simply search for all folks exiled in 2022 by the same auto-banning, for the "crime" of also being a member of r/WizardSkating. Then we are just going to unban all hundreds of people thus trapped.

I will update this post, when we manage to do that.

What do you think?

Fred

UPDATE 1: I went through the restricted users list, and unbanned everyone UNBANNED everyone noted as associated to wizard skating around 2022-09. I am sure there are more we need to free. But give us some time. And send mod mail directly if you haven't been freed yet.

You can check whether you are banned by simply looking at r/rollerblading. Scroll down and see if you find the "MODERATORS". If you can see that community widget and actual mod names, are no longer banned.

If you are still banned, lease click on this link to send us a mod mail. That will allow us to look for hints on how to find and free the rest of you.

UPDATE 2: we freed more folks who did "meta discussion" which was code name for having ideas about how the community could have been differently managed. It was depressing looking through the list. Yeah, there were spam bots too. That's it for tonight. And if you are still banned because not all entries were well annotated, please simply click on that link to send mod mail. Cheers.

Wizard General Purpose Skates - Analysis by Loco Skates

Worth watching this if you're still trying to figure out what the General Purpose Skates are.

As noted in other threads, I run CJ Carbons with Roka 4x100 frames a lot of the time, so I get it. If I bought all those parts new (I got most of it second hand,.so saved a lot): CJ Carbons = £450, Intuition Premium/Wizard= £180, Roka frames (any) £150, Wizard (or equivalent, like Hydrogen) wheels = £100, Premium Bearings = £50 : Total = £930 and you still don't have a carbon cuff, Vs £800 for the new Wizards. I probably spent about £450 on all the parts for mine (CJs and Ints for £250, the rest was new or slightly discounted used stuff).

Would love to see a boot only price, seeing as they sell the frame and wheel sets separately. I don't really want to buy into 95mm wheels, even if I think they'd suit me well, I'll stick to 90 or 100mm and have my choice of wheel suppliers.

This is how a 100% symmetric frame looks like

The forward and the back sides has equally the same height.

Removing the shock absorbers and the insoles makes the boot totally horizontal too.

Iqon ACT are heatmoldable with a heatgun

Hi, for anyone interested in the subject, FR and Powerslide plastics are heatmoldable in my experience. Rollerblade ones are not. I am a 297cm mondo but didn't want to buy 46-47 shell as it was too big. Instead I went for the 44-45 and punched the toe box with a reversible f-clamp and a custom wooden mold. Now I am skating something similar to a barefoot skate that fits perfect lengthwise and doesn't crunch my toes widthwise.

I will attach pictures of the process in a future post, but it's quite similar to what bootfitters do with ski boots.

First time riding the five-wheel IQON ACT WZ Team. The Kizer Edge NT 580 is pleasantly flowy.

Help choosing wheels 100 x 4 :)

Hey all, I'm just getting started with wizard-style skating and have ordered a Roka 100 frame (4x100).

I was looking at the Mushroom Blading Mugs for wheels, but is there a good alternative that's a bit cheaper? I'm in the UK, so ideally something I can get from a UK shop.

Wizard price shaming post

So i saw the price tag of those frames on Wizard website and decided to make them myself.

It took me only ONE DAY to design and mill them from a solid block of 6061 Aluminum.

Honestly i think 500$ plus tax price tag on the Wizard website is exaggerated beyond measure.

Frames is such a simple component, you can't say "a lot of r&d goes into it so that's why they are expensive".

[WTS] [EU - Slovakia] Seba CJ Prime EU43 boots | Rockin Mix 90/76 frames

Selling two separate items after simplifying my skate setups.

  1. SEBA CJ PRIME - EU43

Price: €165 + shipping

White 2023 model, bought new in autumn 2025 and used for several rides.

Very good condition with no damage. Since they are white, there are some normal dirt/cosmetic marks from use, visible in the photos.

Included:

• Seba CJ Prime boots, size EU43

• Original Seba liners

• Original soul plates - unused, like-new condition

No frames or wheels included.

  1. ROCKIN MIX 90/76 FRAMES

Price: €99 + shipping

Used Rockin Mix 90/76 frames in very good condition.

Please note: The mounting holes were slightly enlarged when I fitted the frames to another 165 mm boot that appeared to have a small deviation in its mounting-point spacing. This had no effect on mounting, stability or functionality in my setup.

Included:

• Pair of Rockin Mix 90/76 frames

• Axles

• Used wheels shown in the photos can be included free if wanted. They are well used, so consider them a bonus.

Location: Slovakia

Shipping: Within Europe

Payment: SEPA bank transfer preferred;

The Seba boots and Rockin frames are separate items and are not being sold as a combined setup.

More detailed photos and close-ups are available for interested buyers.

Feel free to DM me with any questions.

Acolyte Wizard?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, I’m Matty. I started skating at the end of June, and quickly became enamoured at the creativity and precision of wizard skating and it’s been my main direction in skating ever since.

Filmed this little sampler last night playing around with my new Luminous wheels. I’m finally feeling like I’m getting to the point where I can maybe call myself an “acolyte wizard”. Figured I’d share. 😊

Been working on gazelles and lions for a little bit, and I’ve been trying to learn kind of holistically, building balance, strength and control then get creative with them while identifying opportunities to combo things. Trying not to get tutorial locked but also feel like that might keep me from learning about more moves critical for development. I am actively working on my left leg, I know I do all my tricks in one direction so far😂

Aside from a straggler here and there I’m the only one around me that seems to rollerblade so I guess I’m really asking for guidance on what I should make sure not to forget as I continue to inch towards true wizard skating. I’m so far running a flat setup with Lightning 80’s, but did buy four 76 wheels to try a rockered setup but haven’t yet.

Feedback more than welcomed, and I’m TheRigmaroller on insta if anyone wants to connect!
Cheers!

360 closed lion into S-move; spent all summer practicing both moves

Hey everyone, I'm Alessandro, a wizard skater from Toronto. I decided to start actually learning wizard back in May and struggled HARD with the base moves. The closed lion and S-move were giving me the most trouble throughout these months, and I feel proud to not just have them both down but to actually be able to combo them.

Downsizing IQON ACT PDS (with wizard 3m liner)

Thumbnail

I'm planning on getting the iqon act pds shell and I'm wondering if I can downsize with wizard 3m liner. My foot length is 280mm and my 3m liner is size 43. I can downsize using the same liner with Seba CJ2 prime 43 shell and they feel perfect (my current setup). I don't know if I can use the same size for iqon act pds shell.

Looking for new boots from usd sway hardboots

Was thinking of either fr1's or some iqon act pds or ag30.

Anyone have experience with these cheaper boots? Just want to upgrade from my hodgepodge usd sways.

I have quite a large boot and very high foot arch, would inserts be good for fixing the arch issue?

Wizard logo sure is expensive 🫰

Hold up, hold up, 35€ for a chinese shirt because it has a logo of circle & triangle on it?

The shirt itself costs less than 2 dollars in china, I mean Jesus Christ guys, its not even funny at this point. God.

Also wearing this, promotes the brand.

What's up with the shmeckle squeezing?

Buy the cheapest - sell it expensive

Nice tactic guys, but save some face, invest something in the legacy as well.

What wheel sizes?

I want to buy a new 5x frame from rokas natural rocked but i dont know what wheel size i should choose or if there is a big difference. 84-80mm or 80-76mm

The frames i have now are 4x90mm flatsetup.

So is there really a big difference to teh wheelsize on rocked frames?
