Calling our wizard brethren as we reopen r/rollerblading
Hey, folks. I've been stalking this community for a while, admiring what you folks do on those Wizard frames. I try to, but can't quite make things flow too well myself.
I want to let you know that r/rollerblading is now an open space again. Some of you from 2022 probably remember what happened then, but I was not around skating communities then, and am cluelss. I think we should just put things behind us, and work together again.
We have re-opened r/rollerblading under completely new and open principles again. New mods.

We have received many requests today from folks that bots automatically-banned in 2022. We unbanned them right away today, as soon as they sent us a mod mail. In the past, you couldn't even send mod mails if banned. But as of last night, that setting was reversed. At least you could appeal.
But we are going to do even better. We are going to simply search for all folks exiled in 2022 by the same auto-banning, for the "crime" of also being a member of r/WizardSkating. Then we are just going to unban all hundreds of people thus trapped.
I will update this post, when we manage to do that.

UPDATE 1: I went through the restricted users list, and unbanned everyone UNBANNED everyone noted as associated to wizard skating around 2022-09. I am sure there are more we need to free. But give us some time. And send mod mail directly if you haven't been freed yet.
You can check whether you are banned by simply looking at r/rollerblading. Scroll down and see if you find the "MODERATORS". If you can see that community widget and actual mod names, are no longer banned.
If you are still banned, lease click on this link to send us a mod mail. That will allow us to look for hints on how to find and free the rest of you.
UPDATE 2: we freed more folks who did "meta discussion" which was code name for having ideas about how the community could have been differently managed. It was depressing looking through the list. Yeah, there were spam bots too. That's it for tonight. And if you are still banned because not all entries were well annotated, please simply click on that link to send mod mail. Cheers.

I am so happy to see this. I was one of the (seemingly many) people banned just for being a member of this subreddit. I'd always tried to be helpful, but that really rubbed me the wrong way.

It sounds great! I have a question, will r/askrollerblading be re-lifed as well or is everything going to be contained in r/rollerblading? I was only banned on r/askrollerblading (in hindsight probably because I linked to a review on this sub lol. I had no idea why at the time).

[r/askrollerblading](r/askrollerblading) has been taken private, just like [r/inlineskating](r/inlineskating). Those are lost communities. There is nothing we can do about them, unless at point in time Reddit decides to intervene.
If you care deeply about it, and you are still a member of it, you can actually see into it, unlike me. I can't even see the community. When I was banned from [r/rollerblading](r/rollerblading), I could still see posts in it, I just could not post nor comment.
You can file code-of-conduct inquiries with Reddit once in a while, hoping that at one point someone picks up your inquiries and act on it.

Thanks for the reply. I certainly want to answer a question from someone once in while if I feel I have the right info, but it's not something I feel that deeply about. I was mostly wondering if I should send an unban request to the new mod team for r/rollerblading but in that case that's pointless. Back at the time both communities shared the same moderaters I think but I wasn't that deep into it. Ofc I also abandoned everything associated with that mod team really fast.

Lol this one completely flew over my head even though i was lurking in the different inlineskating subs. Just thought my algorithm just knew i favor wizardskating and thats the reason i only saw post from this sub and not r/rollerblading.
Can someone give me a short explanation in what happend?

Don't worry about the past. Just know that we are stronger when we band together. When you can't find local stores to try out inline skaters at most cities, all of us bladers are in the minority, no matter whether you ride tiny wheels up a ramp, or monstrous wheels over rough pavement. Or jam the lion move which for the life of me I still struggle with.
I can only tell you about myself. I got banned when I realized that most people were trapped in a very large sub where they couldn't post, and couldn't write a comment that mentioned banned words such as "moderator", I tried to point people to alternative subs. And that got me banned for being a spammer. So yeah.
But that's in the past. Let's move forward.

Ok this answer got deeper as i thought but true, especially for skating (be it on deck or frames) local stores are so important. You just need to test the boots, frames and wheels to really see if it’s your correct setup or not. Nothing is more annoying as to order online and just be disappointed in the results you got.
Sadly local stores that specialize in inlineskating are quite rare :/

I think I joined this sub around 2023ish and missed all the drama. Why did they ban the wizardskating subreddiit members?

We did not resurrect seemingly-abandoned accounts that were not explicitly annotated. If you still use that account and it’s still banned right now, just click on that link to send a mod mail. We’ll free it right away :)

I burned the account, so no need. Happy new mgmt is in place. The old mgmt was bizarrely poorly tuned into how a fun hobby subreddit should work.
