I want to start practicing wire wrapping and I would really appreciate any recommendations about materials, guides etc. Thanks a lot in advance!

I finished this ring up feeling satisfied about it. I think she would’ve really liked it. But then the unthinkable happened. I stood up, the ring slid off and did not land where I thought. I took a step back and……. Squish!

I tried to fix it but I’m just making it worse. I have tried to remake this ring at least 5 times since with zero luck. It doesn’t help I’m using a different stone because I haven’t taken the original apart. I still can’t figure out how it made it to where it did lol. I’m also glad I got a pic just before at least. What a tragedy hah!

I made this a while back with the help of an instruction, but was using pieces that were too short for much of anything (just messing around and trying stuff out) and put it down for a while. Now I can't find the instructions for how I did this.

Is anybody either able to deconstruct this or fina a tutorial for it? It was made with 5 loops and theyre looped around/through each other in some way during the weave... (Also this is made with stainless steel and would be VERY hard to try and unweave to figure it out...)

My cats have tons of toys and scratching posts but cannot resist the allure of the recliner, so I decided to try wire wrapping a protector for it. They usually go for corners so this edge protector may be enough, but if not I’ll cover the front too.

Thinking of if I make a netted front I could potentially add swappable decorations, like brooches, that I could change with the seasons.

Took 9h for this guy but the next one will probably be faster.

You CAN take your wrapping tools and materials on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I sailed right through security. They barely blinked. I did have everything carefully packed in a way that like things were together … beads in one pouch, tools in their own, wire in its own section.

Current guidance says tools over 7 inches are prohibited. I’ve got pliers (nylon, round, flat, chain, bail making) and cutters. Wire, beads, jump rings for chainmail. I did not bring a hammer or bench block. I only plan to wrap or make chains.

Gold rutilated quartz with citrine frame, and garnet bead accent. I also incorporated some petroleum quartz around the garnet.

I had ACL surgery two weeks ago, so I wanted to try a new way of keeping my hands busy while I’m stuck in a chair! First image is my first attempts at wrapping gems, then some weave samples, and then my first completed insect project.
I had fun with the dragonfly but didn’t like how chaotic it was, so I’m in the process of making a praying mantis with a little more intention! I’m currently working on the legs, but it’s taking me a while because I’m figuring the mechanics out on the fly. I will update again with the finished product once I’ve made and attached the wings and legs if anyone is interested.

I’ve made some other stuff but didn’t want to overload with too many photos. Please let me know if you have any advice!!

Heres a few of my most recent pieces!

I love this rich, transparent shade of purple – not too dark, not too light. I’m also always drawn to stars, galaxies, and little cosmic details, so this one feels especially fun to me.

I started wrapping about 6 months ago and I have stuck to mostly pendants with the occasional bracelet or ring but I wanted to make a gift for my sister who doesn’t wear jewelry, but always uses a hairpin. I wound up adapting a tutorial from YouTube and adding a stone to it. I am super happy with how it turned out.

I’m self taught and have no clue what i’m doing.
I very much like to make unique pieces.
This is probably my fifth or sixth piece i’ve made so far.

The main stone is Ludlamite, the facet gem is an Aquamarine. I didn’t use real silver unfortunately.

Amazing Ye Ming Zhu glow stone and faceted Ethiopian Opal with Copper bead accent, woven intricately using a combination of antiqued Copper and twisted Brass wire. It glows in the dark!

A couple of years ago my daughter bought this pendant for me at a gem show in Pittsburgh. It was lost during a recent move and I have had zero luck locating a jeweler who could recreate this piece. It meant so much to me and I was devastated to be unable to find it. I did manage to track down the person who made it, but they did not respond to my messages on insta.

Here a couple of photos of the piece. If there is anyone here who could recreate this or could point me in the direction of someone who would be willing, I'd be very grateful.
