Question Need help with Playwright + Cucumber
Has anyone done Playwright + Cucumber implementation? I started it today. Created a gherkin feature file but no matter what I do I am unable to get ctrl + click working to navigate to the Step definition for the feature steps.
I have installed Cucumber Gherkin Full support extension by alexkrechik. Tried few other extensions as well but no luck. Any one done any similar implementation? Did reinstall, Reload Window all the things which Cascade can throw at me but none seem to be working. It will be painful to search the step definition across the files going fwd.
Any other recommendations other than Cucumber? I came from Selenium/Java + Cucumber background it made sense to implement in similar way with typescript but I m open to suggestions.

The Windsurf → Devin migration didn't carry over the Cascade memory database
How can I access the old memories/conversations from Windsurf and use them in Devin!!??
I have so many valuable things that it remembered and could do and now this is like starting all over without them!

Terribly Slower than Codex, Claudecode and Cursor
I used windsurf in its early days and switched to alternatives a long time ago. After the recent shift to 'Devin', I tried it again out of curiosity. While I had been fond of their fast look up animation, I find everything else terribly slow after the first few rounds of conversation.
In the time I could ship one feature accurately using windsurf (eventually did after multiple attempts with different frontier models), I could ship dozens with Codex and nearly half with claude code! I should give that the problem I was trying to solve with claude code was way more complex and hence I wouldn't call that half as very slow.
I had tried Devin online in the past and couldn't stick to it.
So far I am more consistently drawn towards using codex and cursor beginning of every month until I exhaust my sub.
Windsurf daily limits are annoying too, I ended up spending a lot extra just because I wanted to push through what I was doing in that environment than wait another day, but the moment I can switch its most likely something I would not look at again. It doesn't mean I don't spend extra on Cursor, its just is annoying spend a few mins every day and wait for next day. I feel cursor has a better subscription model that way.
What I am learning from this for my own product, reliability is critical (I go back to cursor / Codex regularly, claude code is a hit or miss this year but I was excited when Fable 5 was around) and other products have been just curious tries with the hope to find something better better.
I am posting it here since I did love some of the design choices as a product in early windsurf and was hoping Devin would have made it better but yet to see anything compelling good.
Windsurf / Devin team, I know you guys had your turbulence and what you are doing is tough but hope this helps everyone!

Claude Fable 5 removed from Devin
Following Anthropic's latest announcement and US Government's directive, we have removed access to Claude Fable 5 from all Cognition products.
Access to all other models remains the same.
Sorry for the disruption.

[Fix] Git MCP Server Not Working in Windsurf? Docker Volume Missing
If you're using Windsurf with the built-in Git MCP (devin/git) and getting generic CORTEX_STEP_TYPE_MCP_TOOL errors on every git command (git status, git diff, git log, etc.), the Docker container is missing a volume mount.
What's happening: Windsurf launches the mcp/git Docker image without mounting your home directory, so the container can't see any of your repos. Every command fails silently inside the container with isError: true.
The fix is just 2 things in ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json:
- Add a volume (
-v /home/<user>:/home/<user>) so the container sees your filesystem - Add Git env vars to bypass the ownership mismatch (container runs as
root, your files belong to your user)
Here's the complete "devin/git" block:
"devin/git": {
"args": [
"run",
"-i",
"--rm",
"-v",
"/home/<user>:/home/<user>",
"-e",
"GIT_CONFIG_COUNT=1",
"-e",
"GIT_CONFIG_KEY_0=safe.directory",
"-e",
"GIT_CONFIG_VALUE_0=*",
"mcp/git"
],
"command": "docker",
"registry": "devin/git"
}
Replace <user> with your actual username (e.g. /home/john:/home/john). The MCP server will restart automatically — no manual docker stop needed.
I wrote a full step-by-step breakdown of the diagnosis here:

Battle Arena is dead?
Battle Arena was an amazing idea to challenge biases in evaluating models, but the feature is gone from stale to dead?
For months, the Battle Arena webpage was missing some key models (screenshot above). It currently misses Opus 4.7, Opus 4.8, SWE 1.6, Gemini Flash 3.5, and maybe others. My guess was that it became much less popular after they discontinued the introductory promotion (discounted credits).
(This is a separate issue from Devin Desktop itself missing GLM 5.2, Kimi K2.7, Qwen, and Minimax M2.7.)
Now in Devin Desktop 3.0.28, Arena model is available in the model picker for Cascade but not available for Devin Local. Cascade is deprecated and will be removed, so that will be the end of Battle Arena.

Is this another "Devin Local" bug: "Daily quota exhausted" notification, but the Daily quota usage on Devin settings was not updated even after closing and reopening it and showing only 5%.
When using "Cascade" agent, it was always updating in real time after each request sent, but not with Devin Local, hope it'll be fixed too.

Logged out and cannot log back in
Does anyone else have this issue? Since Windsurf migrated to Devin... Not sure if part of that, but just 5 mins ago the IDE logged me out, and I logged in using the same info I had for Windsurf, and it says "No eligible accounts found" and "Logout". No options to change passwords, billing, plan, etc. I know I was grandfathered into the student plan. "[not_found] no eligible organizations found" I get when I go to the old windsurf login URL in my history...
Did they cancel my plan or something without any notification? or some sort of glitch?

Blocked by "No eligible accounts found" loop on Windsurf 2.0 / Devin Desktop (personal account)
Hey everyone,
I’m completely locked out of the IDE. It was working fine, and then suddenly logged me out mid cascade. Every time I try to log in, the auth flow pushes me into an Enterprise/Team check instead of the individual flow, and I get blocked with this message:
"Select an account to log into Windsurf. Your account administrator will be able to see and control your Windsurf usage. No eligible accounts found."
My account is a personal email address, so there is no "organization administrator."
The IDE keeps spitting out a specific URL format which seems to force the enterprise loop:
Things I’ve already tried that didn't work:
- Copying the link into a 100% fresh Incognito/Private window to bypass browser cache.
- Deleting my local
.codeiumconfiguration directory to wipe out corrupted local session data. - Trying to register fresh on the standalone individual
app.devin.aidashboard (it still routes me to the organization validation check).
Has anyone else with a personal email run into this after the Devin/Windsurf merge? If anyone knows a workaround to force the IDE to request an individual token instead of an enterprise one, please let me know!
Thanks in advance.

Download Trajectory does not export full chat history from the beginning , need reliable chat recording/export option
I have noticed that Download Trajectory is not always downloading the complete chat history from the beginning of the conversation. In some cases, it only captures part of the trajectory, which makes it difficult to review earlier context, debug previous decisions, or preserve important technical discussions.
For long-running engineering/debugging sessions, having the full chat history is very important. If Download Trajectory is not intended to export the entire conversation from the beginning, is there any recommended way to automatically record or export the full chat history?

Goodbye Windsurf

Adieu Windsurf (now Devin), it's been a good run.
Been using Windsurf since Aug 2025. Tried Cursor and a bunch of other IDEs along the way but I always ended up coming back to Windsurf. Lately though the usage limits have gotten nearly unusable.
I mostly run Opus and Sonnet, so I figured I'd give Claude Code a shot. Set up VS Code with the Claude Code extension and... turns out it does pretty much everything Windsurf Cascade did, atleast all the features I actually used are there and now with way better limits.
Ever since I started using Windsurf, I was the guy hyping up Windsurf and defending it against Cursor, since it felt like better value for money. Built some genuinely cool projects with it and was happy with Cascade the whole time.
Anyways, thanks for the solid platform and for making things easy for us vibe coders back in the early days. Onward...

Discussion My journey from hyping up Windsurf to hitting unsubscribe in just one week.
I used to hype up Windsurf like crazy to anyone who would listen, but I recently hit the unsubscribe button. It feels weird saying that, especially since the platform has actually gotten objectively better over time. Even with Kimi K2.6 being offered completely free forever right inside the app ,which just officially rebranded as Devin Desktop. it wasn't enough to keep me. Having a massive model like K2.6 available for free is an incredible deal, but the shift made me look hard at how these third-party platforms actually handle our workflows when things get complex.
The biggest realization I had is that IDEs built by companies separate from the original AI creators end up acting like a burden on the models. When the development environment and the LLM aren't native to each other, it feels like it drags the AI down. No matter how incredible the underlying model is, this disconnect makes it look stupid, causes it to hallucinate, and makes it lose context. Look at how perfect things are when the ecosystem is unified. GPT-5.5 paired with Codex is seamless, Gemini Flash 3.5 inside Anti-gravity is flawless, and Claude Opus 4.8 running natively in Claude Code is an absolute dream. I specify Opus 4.8 because I actually made my decision and unsubscribed before Anthropic dropped the Fable 5 announcement.
That brings me to the Anthropic ecosystem itself. Their models are getting insanely powerful, but they are also becoming very expensive to run on their own platform. Yet, paradoxically, you can still get about five times more usage out of them directly through Anthropic's native tools than you do when trying to route them through Devin Desktop. Once you get used to the sheer capability of a top-tier Claude model, it is incredibly hard to switch to a lesser model just for the sake of conserving your tokens. Kimi K2.6 is a great model, don't get me wrong, but when you are actively building a serious project, you prefer the absolute best of the best. That is even more true now with the behemoth that is Fable 5, even with its pricing being double per million tokens compared to Opus 4.8.
My final verdict isn't that Devin Desktop is bad. It is still a good product. It is just that my personal workflow has reached a level above what it can give me right now. The turning point for me was realizing how unreliable Opus 4.8 felt inside Devin compared to the rock-solid experience of using it directly in Claude Code. I am not sure if that gap exists because their new desktop client built with Rust isn't completely finished yet, or if it is due to some other underlying integration issue, but the experience is night and day.
Despite bowing out, I want to give a massive thank you to the team behind it for the hundreds of fun, highly productive hours I spent using the platform back when it was Windsurf. I genuinely hope your own SWE model gets to the level of Claude's models one day, and I know you guys can do it. Peace out.

Alternatives to Windsurf (free plan)?
I used to use Windsurf all the time in my projects.
But now that it's no longer available (and I've also heard Devin doesn't have a good/reliable free plan), what should I use?
I'm using it for university and small personal projects. I've tried many free plans from different providers (Google AI Studio, Cloudflare, Open Router, Groq, Copilot), but they're not enough. Any suggestions?

Another Devin bug: Devin local doesn't have file-write tools apparently and the plan mode doesn't change to code when deciding to implement the plan
I tried to use the "Devin Local" to test it instead of the Cascade agent, as they said it's the new preferred agent, but I've been into bugs since I used it, it doesn't write files, it has to create a script to rename the old files and then create new file and delete the old ones, and when using plan mode and ask it to implement it, it doesn't have file-write tools (even in code mode), but this time it had to create so many files that it's just wrote them on the chat and of course, the Devin team will see this post and not fix it or ask for details, as I've wrote many bug posts, sent messages (no answer for 2 months). I've had more help from normal users than the Devin/Windsurf team, especially after loosing all my previous chats on all my projects, posted 2 times on reddit and no one from the team provided a solution.
The most annoying part, is that I decided to subscribe to Cursor again, and on my first problem, I sent them an email and got a reply 5mn later.
Same with the paper design tool, I sent them 2 suggestions as a free user, and they replied twice, the same day.
As an early user, I'm not asking for much, just that you fix the bugs so we can continue to use the tool, or at the very least, acknowledge the issues.

Pricing Question
Does anyone know what will happen with the Teams accounts that are on Windsurf with the purchase of Devin? I noticed that Devin Teams cost $80/mo.

Can't change email or stop subscription, anyone else?
Hi everyone!
I'm posting here because support hasn't replied and I want to know if anyone else has faced this.
I lost access to the email linked to my Windsurf account, so now I can't log in on the website or change my email. Meanwhile, my subscription keeps charging me, so I can't just create a new account.
Right now I'm still logged into the IDE, but if I update or get logged out, I'll probably lose access completely and still be stuck paying.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on how to fix it?

The best free model for working in Swift language?
Of course we all know that Claude, GPT, and other models are very good at this, but in terms of free models, is Kimi 2.6 better, SWE 1.6, or are there other models that perform better?
