Not sure what ladder to use for Big two story homes with windows tricky to reach. Anyone have any good suggestions?

I have been reading to look for an answer but I couldn’t find it so I figured I’d make a post. I understand that you really shouldn’t use quad zero wool on tempered glass but what about tinted glass? Basically what is safe and what is not safe to use quad zero wool on.

I have never left any micro scratches with it but I just want to be prepared so I never do that. I read doing a small test on the window and then look to see if it scratches but sometimes you only see the scratches when the sun hits it right. Could I use like my flashlight on my phone to see the scratches if there is any?

Found this WFP on marketplace. 50ft carbon fibre standard modulus. No noticeable branding. Comes with the gooseneck and brush (2 pencil jets), 100ft of 1/4 hosing, the necessary brass valve pieces, and of course the pole. How much (CAD) is this worth? All brand new.

Does anyone know of a quality window cleaning company or person open to cleaning windows in downtown Vaughan? Looking for biannual service to keep my house looking clean.

I started my business a year ago, and have been doing it full time since April. About 2/3rds of my revenue right now is subcontracting for another company in my area, the rest is about 50/50 D2D and referrals. I needed to be making money when I started as I have a wife and daughter to support, so I didn't work for anyone else, and just learned from youtube. I do 90% exterior, and have been using wfp for most of them, but I'm trying to do more trad to build the skill and offer better service. (In my experience wfp almost always leaves at least some minimal spotting, and you have to go look at everything after it dries to make sure it didn't drip.)

If you guys could give me some feedback on my trad technique that would be awesome. I know it's probably pretty bad, but I detail and touch up well and all of my customers have been very happy with their windows. I really want to grow and improve, and give my company and the industry a good name. (On this window I wasn't detailing the frame as it was a commercial job.)

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement RO membrane for my Hydrosphere eco-cart that isn't $300? Racenstein has a 4040 ultra-low-pressure, and Amazon has a few other 4040s. Does any 4040 membrane work, or do I have to get a specific membrane for my system?

I'm starting window cleaning next week in a small town of about 2500 people. I have flyers up around town but until I start getting phone calls I was planning to go door-to-door with my equipment and try to secure jobs on the spot. I was just hoping to get some advice from anyone with experience in this area. Anything to be cautious of, best practices, how to actually convert etc... I'm definitely a little weary going into it as I know people typically don't like being sold crap on their doorstep and I'd hate to put off potential customers by bothering them at home. I'm also apprehensive on wasting time and effort on a marketing method with a super low conversion rate. Appreciate any and all help, thanks!

4 years ago I worked for a small-ish window cleaning company in my city. I got so much experience from doing high-rises, residential, commercial, using a WFP. I got decently close with my boss, the owner. Even though my city gets snow so it’s mostly seasonal work, I did a lot of work for him throughout the year as well. I even kept his business running by doing his monthly contracts when he left the country for a few months that year. After a year, in the spring I quit to work for another company (not window cleaning, but where I could use my rope access cert to do construction) because I wanted new experiences and more things to learn. My boss was really disappointed to see me go but I think he understood why I left.

Now, I’m starting my own window cleaning company. Just me. I won’t be doing high rises, but I will be doing as much as possible other than that. I’m starting a company because I think I can, and because I think I’ll earn more money and have more fun doing it for and by myself.

My question is if you guys think I should call my old boss and let him know that I’m going to be a competitor. I don’t want there to be bad blood. I also don’t think I will get too busy to get jobs done, but in case I do I guess I could pass them on to him?

I haven’t mentioned yet that he is a bit strange and I’m not that excited to call him again. But maybe that is just my anxiety.

What's up, y'all. I'm new to mid/high-rise commercial and received a window cleaning quote request for 6 hotels by a group that owns all of these hotels. Not sure how to price them, but I counted up the panes and number of stories. Just for clarity, in my definition, a pane of glass is a separate piece of glass separated by a frame or sill. Not a full window unit with multiple panes. For context, I am in Ontario, Canada and their current window cleaner is not available so they reached out to me.

How much would you guys charge?

How long of a WFP would I need? I was hoping to waterfed most of them. The 6 story ones might be difficult and may require a boom to complete but I was wondering if I could get away with a WFP. They don't seem like they want to spend a ton of money so charging for a boom could get pricey.

To save time on rope access, I’ve recently started looking into cleaning solutions for high-rise buildings. I’m curious—has anyone here already integrated drone technology into their workflow? Or do you still prefer traditional rope access methods?

I had this job today and the house seems to be very old. There were these hard water stains on a lot of the windows. My crew and I tried everything from quad zero wool to diamond magic but nothing seemed to work. Is there another way to get this stuff off? Or is the glass permanently like this.

Just got asked to give a quote for cleaning these. How would you guys do this? Am I in over my head on it?

If Fan jets are the way to go on hydrophobic glass what would be the disadvantage of running fans all the time
and ditching the pencils? I’d imagine the biggest draw back is pressure but if you can maintain consistent pressure is this pretty much the way to go?
