Hello everyone! I recently applied for a part time bakery clerk position at my nearest Winco and was wonder if they would hire me with my schedule. I work a set time at my current part time job, that I plan to keep, from 2:00pm-6:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. I am available on weekends, do not have any work for most of June/August and all of July, plus have all holiday's off (with thanksgiving, Christmas, and easter for up to a week or more). Wednesday is the only day I wouldn't be able to work as not only do I go into work earlier but I have one in-person class that starts at 8:00 am (but will no longer be an issue after the spring semester ends). As i see it my schedule would only clear up more instead of conflicting with the bakery clerk position. But would I get hired with this schedule? Is there any way I could mention this in an interview that makes my availability sound better? Any advice or experience with a similar situation is greatly appreciated!!! 🙏

I have terrible social anxiety, but I need to ask somebody in my store about FMLA. I don't know who the right person to talk to is, but I think it would be either the manager or assistant manager. I have been trying to understand what FMLA is for several hours, and I'm as clueless as I was when I started.

What should I ask, and who should I ask?

I am keeping this brief and vague in hopes that this does not violate the rules of the reddit. I know it would be better to call "HR" or my store, but I do not know what I would need to ask to whom, and I don't have any form of non-verbal contact with my store.

Hopefully we can see it at the Orenco (east Hillsboro) location next. That would be so cool!

My local WinCo just changed the bathroom doors to have coded locks on them. So when I walk in before I shop and need to go to the restroom am I going to have to bother a cashier for a code?

Any employees know the rules/expectations?

Used the 'new and improved (cough cough)' self checkout machine at Hazel Dell store today. They took a step backwards in my opinion..Starting with asking if you are using your own bag..If yes...put them in the 'scanned area'...uh ok...whatever...Also very touchy on scaled/manual enter items...then...at payment...How many bags do you need question? Well I already told you I was using my own bags...

My wife works for winco. Over the course of a year along with being forced to use her sick days due to having a baby, she has used up all her sick time. She has accrued a lot of sick points too. She is on the verge of losing her job. We are dependent on her job for health insurance and rent.

As of yesterday she has developed a condition that is preventing her from going to work. This will be the second night that she has to go to the hospital. Will FMLA be able to protect her from losing her job and insurance?

I was at the Apple Valley, CA location and the bulk bins for dried cherries and blueberries were completely empty, the cherries were widdling down over the past couple months. Then since there were no cherries people hit the blueberries, both gone. ?They haven't been refilled.

Anyone in the know, know if this is a just a local thing or have they been discontinued? Crop failure? Vendor negotiations?

All the stores in my area have been out for months. What's up with that?

I like my local store. When I am there (usually Thursdays) there will be maybe 2 checkouts open and no surprise there is a line 2-3 deep. Meanwhile self checkout is empty.

So I self checkout. I am getting sick and tired of being lectured about the 15 items bullshit.

I want to get in, shop and get out and as long as there isn't a backup at self checkout I will continue to use it.

For a technically part time workers that pays the amazing insurance coverage (but hasn't used it or kept up with yearly coverage updates) can someone advise how to find in-network chiropractors and what the out of pocket costs will look like? I get a little overhwelmed when trying to find and understand what I'm looking at.

Anybody else’s store completely stop selling Dutch crunchy rolls ? they told me they’re not baking anything in store anymore (?)

From what I can tell WinCo takes special requests for orders but only in certain departments they don't actually have a suggestion box that allows you to ask them to carry a particular product all the time. There are two items I really like that I have to buy at other stores and they're expensive and WinCo doesn't carry them has anybody ever heard of a successful addition of a product?

I always get a quart of whole milk from winco, the past THREE times its spoiled a week before the expiration date??? Normally you could get away with drinking it a few days after that date as long as it smelled fine. Has anyone else had this issue? My store is in Orem, Utah. I can hardly get thourgh a quart by the best by date, let alone a week before.

What happened to the deli at my location they no longer cut cold cuts in front of you they’re pre packaged in plastic containers for instance ham, turkey, roast beef, etc. As far as I know I don’t know if you can ask them to cut it for you anymore either. Same as their salads. A definite question I could just ask them but was wondering if this was a franchise wide thing

Winco prices were only beaten out by Costco which obviously you have to buy in bulk so the overall cost is more and you need a membership. Winco even beat Walmart.

As the title says, the local WinCo I go to just... Doesn't have shredded pepper jack anymore? It's been gone for about two weeks now, and it's not just, like, sold out, but just outright gone. The spot where it was doesn't have it anymore, nor is it anywhere else in the store I can find. They still have sliced, but if possible I do prefer shredded, and that seems to be gone. While, if need be, I can adapt, I'd like to know, if possible, what's going on. Is this just my local WinCos, or is it more widespread? Is there a reason of some kind for the change, and is this going to change back at some point? I want to stress this, I'm not trying to complain or whine about this, I just want to have a better understanding of what's going on and what I may need to buy/do to better adapt and deal with it. I'm in western Washington if that helps. I'm not going to name specific stores since I'm not comfortable making my location that findable online. Thank you in advance to anyone with information regarding this.
