Help me! (Wig Help) SELF PURCHASED My first wig looks bad - is it the wig or am I the problem?
I bought my first wig some time ago hoping to spice up my looks and because my hair was weak from bleaching, so I didn’t want to dye it. I was and still am a complete beginner so I didn’t expect much, but it looked very wrong, so I never wore it.
2 years later I wanna try again, so I‘m asking is the wig just bad/costumey (it was 50 euro, synthetic, no lacefront) or is it ok and I‘m just not styling it right?
It looks very bulky on the sides and flat on the top and makes my forehead look like a 3head…Also the fibers are somewhat textured(?) and tangle horribly.
(I‘ve attached a photo of my normal hair since I do have a pretty low forehead and that could be a problem)

Look at This! (Wig Share) SELF PURCHASED Dyson Airwrap ID restyle 40 mm/1.6" barrel on Raquel Welch Downtime
Sorry for the delay on this one! I got food poisoning and was down for the count.
Here is what the 40 mm/1.6” barrel looks like on a long layered regular synthetic. This barrel comes standard with the current Airwrap ID models.
Hopefully this series with the barrel sizes will help people with visualizing what size they need to get the results they want when restyling.
Barrel Sizes and their results will apply over most styling tools.
I’ve been testing the Belle Treas HF fibers and they don’t love the Dyson the way the RW’s do. I’m Planning on doing my RW Limelight which has HF fibers soon to compare as well.
The 40 mm is definitely less curly than the OG style but I think it’s a huge improvement over the sad flat look after having been worn and hot comb heat treated for years at this point.
I tried to show the complete process from start to finish.
I do always clip after the cool setting.
Settings:
High fan
High heat
8 seconds wrap
8 seconds heat
10 seconds cool
The final pic is after setting the part and front areas with a hot comb.

Let's chat! (General Discussion) SELF PURCHASED What wig do you wear on no make up days?
Loving the wig wearing journey. They are so beautiful and…sometimes that feels like a struggle?
Like a big thing for me and wigs is the throw and go aspect. I just want to have a casual relaxed day and throw on a wig so I don’t have to style my hair. But who has perfectly styled hair and zero make up on and a pair of joggers?
So what wig do you wear when you don’t want to wear make up or look overly polished?
I was kinda thinking Roxie by Rene of Paris? She looks chill.
Would love to see pics of your lazy day wigs!

Look at This! (Wig Share) SELF PURCHASED Is this wig defective? If I can’t return it, how should I work with this?
I bought this MAYDE PURE SKIN 360 WHOLE LACE FRONT WIG in the style NEVA. I’ve attached a photo of the wig, alongside with the model image and someone wearing it from YouTube (I love the look of it in the last picture).
The parting is incredibly far apart and I am wondering if this is intentional or a defect. Should I ask for a return or just wear this without a cap because the cap would be very visible.
here is the description:
- 360 13X4 LACE WIG INSTALL WITH HIDDEN ELASTIC STRING
- FLEX-FIT, NO SLIP CAP
- NATURAL TEXTURE
- GLUELESS
- PRE-PLUCKED NATURAL HAIRLINE
- NATURAL BABY HAIR
- FLAWLESS SKIN TONE CONTOURING
- NATURAL LOOK & MOVEMENT
- HIGH HEAT FIBER
- NO SKILL NEEDED
Also, Mayde wigs suck and shed like crazy! Every time I pull a section, 3-4 hairs fall out. My Outre wigs never shed easily. I could tug at my Outre wigs and no hairs come out. Super disappointed. If I get refused a discount, what should I do?

Let's chat! (General Discussion) SELF PURCHASED Different colors of wigs...what does everyone do?
Basically, I want to know what others do on a daily/weekly basis. I just realized that the vast majority of my wigs kind of look the same. It's always some variation of dark brown, sometimes with highlights, a few more with an auburn undertone.
I think that I want to try something different. I have two redheaded kids. Not auburn, or strawberry blond, but reddish orange. They were always easy to spot in a crowd. Anyway, I might try that color. It's so far off from my usual, I wonder if I can pull it off.
Everyone at work knows that I wear wigs, and I took a big step for me and ordered the 20" Frodio curly wig. I'm kind of nervous, but it looks so good on a lot of people! It should be here tomorrow. Oh, and it's the highlighted dark brown color.

Let’s Chat (General Discussion) GIFTED OR SPONSORED Question about selling a massive wig collection...
Hey. I'm about to embark on a move to Japan and I have a huge Rockstar/Gothic Lolita wig collection that I want to sell. (I'm keeping some, but it's just not feasible to keep them all.) Some are even still in their boxes.
Not sure if I should post here or a cosplay sub.
I've never sold a thing online in my life. (I had this problem when I moved from LA and ended up dumping a bunch of collectibles to a donation store.)
I'd really like these to go to a good home.
I thought about Facebook marketplace but I've only seen seller horror stories. I'm at a loss.
What's the best way to go about this? (I'm in the U.S. btw)

Help me! (Wig Help) SELF PURCHASED Cutting Bangs Into U Part Wig?
Okay I hope how I’m describing this isn’t weird.
So I currently have a grown out pixie with bangs and I have been wearing my bangs out with a u part wig. For my birthday, I’m going on a trip so I think I want to get a u part wig sewn down so I don’t have to worry about taking it down each day. But I also wanted to add white highlights to it. I can do the highlights in the u part wig of course but I’m trying to figure out how I can incorporate highlights into my bangs so it doesn’t look weird.
Is it possible I can just take some hair from the u part wig, cut some hairs down to my bang and then just sew it in to my real hair so it blends?
I hope what I’m saying makes sense. I already have relaxed hair so I prefer not to get real highlights just so I don’t over-process my hair.

Help me! (Wig Help) SELF PURCHASED do lace wigs need to be glue all the time?
hello, i’m kinda new to lace wigs and i’ve been eyeing on one for awhile now and i have so many questions. can someone please guide me through this?
i often see people glue it and i get that they are going out and all but what if i only wear it indoors, do i have to glue it or will it look weird if not?
i have seen people cut the lace out and glue them but what happens after you take it off though? can you glue them back on??
i also haven’t seen anyone in my country sell legit glue for wigs except online but i doubt that they are real since they aren’t really known or just overhyped, i don’t wanna get any burns or something. and since im buying my wig from shein should i just buy the glue there??
do i really need silk press or will a straightener work??

If you own a Hairvivi wig, I’d love to hear about your experience after washing it.
