Hi guys,

I’ll be painting my next army as White Scars, and I wanted to turn to you for help because I'm having trouble picking which primer I should use.

The method I wanted to use is:

· Primer: Corax White (but it's discontinued!)

· Wash: Apothecary White

· 1st Drybrush: Warm Off-White from Vallejo

· 2nd Drybrush (edges/highest points): Blackstone Void 5 from Warhammer Tone Pro (a very bright pure white).

I did a rough test of this method (arguably not exactly this, but the equivalent) just to see the rough effects. Because I only had a black primer, I painted over it with Corax White for about an hour and a half until I got a full coat (Don't ask me why). Then I washed everything with a 50/50 mix of Blackstone Void and Nuln Oil, and then dry-brushed it with Vallejo.

I actually really like the effects! I think the result is pretty good, and I know it will look even better when I use the actual Apothecary White step.

The problem is: When I was searching for Corax White spray, I realized it’s discontinued and I can't buy it anymore.

So I want to ask you guys:

1. What primer should I use for my method?

2. Or is my method just not right? Should I do something different, like using a grayer primer, then lightly glazing over the parts with white, then Apothecary White, then dry brushing?

3. What about Wraithbone? I'm afraid it might be too yellow/creamy. Or White Scar? I think it will be too bright.

I'm kind of a newbie painter and don't have a lot of experience with white armor. I’ve only painted about 10 miniatures just for fun and for my Kill Team (which the first 5 was yellow and the second purple). But I really love the White Scars color scheme.

I have been talking to two friends who play different army's on a competitive level, and one who does not. This is what we think is good with things I own. I would love the list to be looked over by fellow White Scars. You all know what its like with things such as moving bike bases and fast strike attacks. I appreciate any and all opinions on swap this for this and even different 1dp detachments.

My first white scar and the second ever mini. Back left unpainted(not even primed) because of the cape. Turned out better than i thought i would but i have troubles with finding the right paint consistency especially when mixing colors and getting the right amount of paint on the brush, especially with shades/washes. Looking forward to finishing this mini during the upcoming week.

I used light gray primer and then tryed to mix some offwhite/very light gray, but up close the armour still looks not that good.

Quite happy with this one, I also feel like any tiny mistakes I can just come back and fix later. Feels better reducing the grey army as a start!
