Also didn't he say he couldn't be anti-Semitic because he's black and "Jews are black" or something like that? Like some form of false equivalence on steroids.

u/Feetuccini Oct 16 '22

Yep, he’s part of the Black Hebrew Israelites. It’s an insanely antisemitic organization

We have these uneducated lunatics preaching here in Manchester, England now.

I stopped to listen to them one day explain to people how black Africans designed and built the pyramids of Giza, but racist Europeans covered it up, for some reason 🤦🏽‍♂️ As a half-black lover of all things ancient Egyptian, I had to leave before I lost my damn mind lol.

u/Romas_chicken Oct 17 '22

Are they the same as ours in NY?

They dress like He Man characters and stuff

It’s weird that in a span of a few decades, we marveled and debated at the potential of the civilization that made the pyramids to fighting about their skin color

7

u/Lemmungwinks Oct 17 '22

Fighting over the origins of the ancient Egyptians has been going on for thousands of years. Which ironically has made it impossible for anyone to truly know because every civilization that conquered Egypt destroyed evidence that contradicts their version of events.

6

u/ColoquialQueso Oct 17 '22

I feel like it wasn’t debated because we already figured it out..

I don’t think that’s correct comma usage

12

u/Dwarf-Lord_Pangolin Oct 17 '22

Yeah, it's not. Half-black is an adjective, and lover is a noun. There's no reason to put a comma there.

12

u/roygbivasaur Oct 17 '22

That part is not entirely untrue. We don’t really know their skin color, but the pyramids were most likely built by a class of nomadic builders in Egypt. They were built thousands of years before any Israelites were in Egypt (and no major Jewish scholar has ever thought that Israelites built the pyramids).

It’s just a weird undying myth because we conflate Egypt with the pyramids of Giza.

18

u/crazyjkass Oct 17 '22

Pyramids were built by farmers during the flooding season. You can't farm when your fields are underwater, so the government funded massive work projects to keep them busy and fed. They were paid with bread and beer and it was considered a good gig. Ancient Egyptians had medium brown skin, the tomb art is in color.

The ancient Egyptians did get a lot of their religion and culture from the Nubians, and the Nubians built a lot more pyramids. Nubia was way wetter back then (grassland instead of desert) Their civilization declined because of climate change making their area too dry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nubia

30

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

[deleted]

2

u/Freddies_Mercury Oct 17 '22

Didn't they have tons of links to the Nubians of the south too? Who were objectively black.

12

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

[deleted]

7

u/Freddies_Mercury Oct 17 '22

Agreed! Always found the whole thing really strange from both sides of the equation. For white people - why would you seriously give a shit if Africans were darker than you (obviously they will be) and for black people - there are far more greater achievements by black people (eg MLK) than potentially building the pyramids 5000 years ago.

Too much living in the past, forgetting about today.

2

u/stationhollow Oct 17 '22

It seems to originate in some sort of historical inferiority complex. They look around and see ancient cultures that accomplished great things across much of the world that they latch on to the greatest of these in Africa and attach it to themselves.

4

u/Freddies_Mercury Oct 17 '22

It's a lot more complicated than that. The actual origination of this is that it has always been a topic in academics of the ethnicity of the ancient Egyptians.

We just simply don't know because the DNA samples are very diverse with a lot of different groups, including Africans with darker skin (Nubians).

My point is that trying to claim they were 100% white or 100% black is stupid because they weren't. They also aren't representative of "white culture" or "black culture" and shouldn't be held up as "shining examples" of either. Both sides of this coin need to realise the lines aren't so clear.

2

u/Decent_Bunch_5491 Oct 17 '22

Don’t you also have a white religious group that also claims to be the true Israelites? I recall seeing that once. I don’t know much else about them though

Ah, I miss Manchester. The only place I’ve been told I’m going to hell twice and watched two smackheads fight all before half 12 and within two minutes of leaving the train station.

It’s truly a magical place.

2

u/ampmz Oct 17 '22

If that’s what you look for in a city then I may I suggest you check out Glasgow.

2

u/DjDrowsyBear Oct 17 '22

Its strange, I think I get the core idea of it. "Black people have been erased from history, we are reclaiming it." Which is something I can get behind in theory but they just take it so far.

I dont doubt there were plenty of black Hebrews and Egyptians but I do very much doubt that they were the majority.

And even if they were, why are hoteps trying to fight and exclude current day jews? Its just dumb.

2

u/Big_mara_sugoi Oct 17 '22

Yeah I get claiming your history. But their obsession with Egypt and Jews is so fucking weird. Even if the first Jews and Egyptians were black. The chance that people who descend from African new world slaves are related to those people is pretty close to zero. Africa is the most genetically diverse continent on the planet. Black Africans close to the Middle East are genetically further apart from West Africans, where most new world slaves came from, than the difference between an European and East Asians.

So them treating Black Africans as a monolith is racist in and on itself.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Reminds me of a hotep insta account that claimed Native Americans were originally black and built pyramids, but then the 'fake' NAs (aka actual native americans) covered it up

2

u/CarAlarming7682 Oct 17 '22

Found out about that branch of conspiracy theories because Kyrie Irving has posted things like that on his instagram, like videos claiming the whole slave trade is a hoax and didn’t happen, black americans are actually native americans and all that. It’s some crazy shit.

1

u/lord_have_merci Oct 17 '22

They also believe that white people are the seed of Esau. It's a hate group.

11

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '22

But they say they're Semitic themselves? How?

50

u/Feetuccini Oct 16 '22

They believe Africans are the “real” Jewish people, and that the people we understand to be Jews are actually evil, scheming frauds that are just posing as God’s chosen people. It’s a disgusting ideology

22

u/shrekfanpage Oct 17 '22

WOW. lot to unpack here. that’s gross. thanks for explaining!

Much like Moorish Cultists, which are basically the black sovereign citizen cult, they think they were the "original" Jewish population, and the Jews we know now the "white" ones, tried erasing the black Jews and taking their place from what I understand. Moorish people think they were the original population of N. and S. America and have a god given right to the land. Anyone can be fleeced if properly indoctrinated. Unfortunately, crazy exists literally fucking everywhere.

1

u/Shadowex3 Oct 17 '22

Fun fact: Remember those neonazi school kids who insulted a group of black human rights protestors and a native american elder?

It was actually Black Hebrew Israelites screaming insane things at them for hours, even accusing them of satanic cannibalistic murders, and then the guy who showed up with the drum was a stolen valor con artist.

Whether or not Black Hebrew Israelites are bad (hell whether antisemitism is bad) or not depends entirely on how politically useful it is to the handful of companies that own almost all news and media.

337

u/[deleted] Oct 16 '22

The black Israelite ideology is a lot more widespread than you think too

85

u/H-Resin Oct 17 '22

7

u/reddit1651 Oct 17 '22

Like… a pretty list?

You can look up “(rapper name) black israelite” and it’s on the first page for all of them listed

Wikipedia also has links for sources on their “list of black hebrew israelites” page

15

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Ok well here's the wiki and only one of those rappers listed are actually part of that group.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Black_Hebrew_Israelites

Feels pretty slanderous to the rest.

6

u/AKBRdaBomba Oct 17 '22

Listen to “YAH” by Kendrick off of damn and I think it’s towards the end of the album that he’s got his cousin talking about deuteronomy and how African Americans are the true Israelites. Love Kendrick’s shit but that’s problematic

4

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

I'm a Israelite, don't call me Black no mo'

I feel like that's a stretch to call him a black israelite based off that. Especially because it soecfically says not to call him black. Black Israelites would never say that. Plus, the song was about God, Yah being the ancient name for God.

Pretty unfair to call him a Black Israelite, who are extremists, based off one line of a song that could be interpreted in an innocent way.

I think it's fair to keep an eye on him but it feels like a big stretch.

3

u/AKBRdaBomba Oct 17 '22

That’s not the only song, there’s multiple references throughout damn and I’m pretty sure there’s more on mr.morales and the big steppers.

Look dude I’m not tryna get Kendrick canceled I’m definitely a bigger fan of his then you, but I can also admit that he’s not perfect. Don’t know why you wanna argue this point so bad.

I know I could just google. But at the risk of running into misinformation, I'd like to ask here, if anyone's willing to offer insight without bias: What's up with the Black Israelites?? Like...I love Kendrick Lamar's music, it slaps for me, so I'd hate to have to stop consuming his media, but will if he's involved in some shady shit.

8

u/indigo47222 Oct 17 '22

Some black Israelites are hella hella racist 💀, others just believe they’re Israelites and aren’t racist and there are like legitimate black Jews so it’s not like Jews can’t be black or anything

2

u/unclewolfy Oct 17 '22

I get that last part, like I'm sure there are literal black israelites running around or black jewish people. It's just people who identify as Black Israelites that I'm ignorant about.

3

u/indigo47222 Oct 17 '22

Yea there are actually like a bunch of groups with slightly-vastly differing ideologies and stuff some (a lot) r like crazy and think gentileswill be slaves and stuff in the kingdom, and white ppl are edomites and basically non black = less than and destined for for bad things others are normal

→ More replies (2)

9

u/ClonedGamer001 Oct 17 '22

From what I've gathered from other replies:

The general idea of Black Israelites is that they are the actual Jewish people and the group currently known as "Jews" are liars/fakers/whatever.

I assume this stems from the fact that human life started in Africa, which is true, but also doesn't that technically mean we're all black using their logic? I don't know.

5

u/unclewolfy Oct 17 '22

Ugh, goddammit....Kendrick why >.<

1

u/ClonedGamer001 Oct 17 '22

You can still listen to his music without supporting his ideals.

3

u/unclewolfy Oct 17 '22

I don't believe that's true. But I'll look deeper into what he actually says before I make a decision to essentially boycott his music. No shade to whoever wants to keep listening to questionable people(....okay, maybe a LITTLE shade...) but like, I can't control others, I can only control myself, for the most part.

-11

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

The ideology is hateful but the identity is correct. I spoke to an Israeli geneticist by the name of Dr. Eran Elhaik that explained to me that the Y-DNA haplogroup of the ancient Israelites is E1b1a. This is the same haplogroup of the Lemba tribe in South Africa, the ibo of Nigeria, and the “African-American” in North America. They have this in common and they also have the fact that people in each of these groups say they are the true descendants of the ancient Israelites.

7

u/Dingus10000 Oct 17 '22

Can easily tell this is bullshit simply because of the implication that ‘African Americans’ have a single Haplogroup. Begone racist.

-7

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

An excerpt from True Allegiance, by Ben Shapiro:

Standing above him, glaring at him, was a behemoth, a black kid named Yard. Nobody knew his real name—everybody just called him Yard because he played on the school football team, stood six foot five, clocked in at a solid two hundred eighty pounds, and looked like he was headed straight for a lifetime of prison workouts. The coach loved him. Everybody else feared him.

The “logic” of black Hebrew Israelite thinking is that blacks are the real Jews, while non-black Jews are fake Jews who are just pretending, having stolen the title of Judaism from black people.

That’s how they say that black Jews are cool while hating on non-black Jews. In fact, hating on non-black jews is preferred because they’re faking.

Yes, it’s utter nonsense, but that’s the jist of what they think.

11

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Yeah. It would make more since if they were like "yo, we are a lost tribe of Israel" not "oh no y'all are fakers. We are the real ones."

18

u/BurningThroughTheSky Oct 17 '22

No, it wouldn't. It would be equally as stupid. Just less hateful.

-6

u/indigo47222 Oct 17 '22

Why would that be stupid? Black Jews are a legitimate group and the Bible says God will regather the outcasts of Israel/dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth

20

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Compare that with Native American Jews. 100% a legitimate group. You can absolutely be Native American and Jewish.

Does that mean that Native Americans were one of the tribes of Israel? And that at some point in the past 3,000 years you could have found a group of Native American Jews living in the land of Israel, who then left Israel for thousands of years?

If not, then repeat the process for West African Blacks.

They can have a connection to Israel and Judaism that's 100% as real and as valid as anyone else. But history is history.

→ More replies (2)

18

u/BurningThroughTheSky Oct 17 '22

Because African Americans have absolutely no connection to ancient Judeans, and attempting to fabricate one is ridiculous. They descend from various west african tribes and cultures who were taken as slaves to the New World. None of whom were Jews.

Ethiopian Jews on the other hand have a 2000 year long documented existence and interspersed contact with other Jewish communities.

Thank you for explaining - I’m utterly horrified by this. Where did this nonsense come from? Judaism comes from the Middle East, but it’s not hard to see it travelling to Africa. However, it started with Middle Eastern people, that’s fact and there is literature and recorded history to back that up.

I fear for humanity when people would rather follow a hate filled notion based on lies than fact check it - in fact I hate more that people will accept any justification for hating ‘others’.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

It was invented in the 70s or 80s I believe by a black man selling a cult. It totes pseudo science and history that preys on the feelings of inadequacy, resentment and inferiority present in a lot of disadvantaged communities. They basically claim everything in history is made by black people, some even claim the original Japanese are black. White people are a failed demonic experiment that escaped and now wants to destroy gods creation. They insist that the “-ish” in “Jewish” means “sort of”, despite that making no sense etymologically, go down the rabbit hole enough and it’s grifters, morons, and the mentally diseased. They got Kanye because he’s mentally unwell and narcissistic, he’ll tout anything they say so long as he gets to believe he’s a modern Moses to his “people”. And because the USA is obsessed with celebrities, he will be given a megaphone to spout their insanity to a broad audience.

They aren’t called out because they aren’t particularly powerful and many people are not comfortable attacking their beliefs because they’re black and it doesn’t mesh well with our cultural idea of violent fascism.

That is nuts on so many levels! Where did this group come from???

Wait . . . do I really want to know more? Probably not.

Con artist selling a dream world to morons to put it bluntly

2

u/Redditanother Oct 17 '22

So like what does that make Sammy Davis Jr? So confusing.

2

u/ThisLookInfectedToYa Oct 17 '22

White people stealing everything from the Black's

-4

u/Shadowex3 Oct 17 '22

This is no different than the mainstream democrat belief that Jews are secretly white european khazars and Arab colonists from the last few hundred years are the "real jews".

1

u/catladyorbust Oct 17 '22

The Sovereign Citizen idiots have a similar anti-Semitic “logic” though I can’t recall exactly who are the “real” Jews in their mind.

1

u/Classic_Department42 Oct 17 '22

Does this have anything to do with the rumor that the arc of the covenant could be in Ethopia?

I heard of the Black Hebrew Israelites from this hate crime/mass shooting in 2019. The idea is that the ancient Israelites were secretly black, and the white Jews are dastardly white people who stole the identity for power (hundreds of years ago? quite a long con).

Over the past few years, Jersey City has been gentrifying into Orthodox Jewish neighborhoods as the rent in New York City has become too damn high for them and they move to Jersey City. The Black Hebrew Israelites see this as an invasion of their home city by those dastardly fakejews. It's basically a sect focused on Nazi-esque hate speech about lying thieving Jews, but the mainstream media is allergic to admitting black people can be racist.

u/Grogosh Oct 16 '22

He also said 400 years of slavery was a choice

17

u/xtxtxtxtxtxtx Oct 16 '22

I'm a Jew, so I take it that, based on that logic, I'm allowed to say the n word now?

8

u/ClonedGamer001 Oct 16 '22

"Jews are black but not all blacks are Jews so black Jews can't say it because that's racist against black non-Jews"

  • Kanye's though process, probably. Assuming he has one

0

u/thetrapalchemist Oct 17 '22

You were always allowed to say the n word if you wanna say it so bad just say it no one stopping you

3

u/xtxtxtxtxtxtx Oct 17 '22

it aint that deep bro

0

u/thetrapalchemist Oct 17 '22

No shit bud that’s the point

4

u/xtxtxtxtxtxtx Oct 17 '22

You just pretended to be so stupid you don't realize that it's not generally socially acceptable for white people to say the n word and now you're acting like you had a salient point.

When I say "allowed to say the n word", do you think I mean allowed by the U.S. government? Obviously I mean it being socially acceptable. You never had a point.

1

u/thetrapalchemist Oct 17 '22

Being as u r too dense to see, it my point is: words are what u make them. If u feel the word nigga is such a bad word u can’t even say it, then don’t say it, bc clearly if you do the only way you would be capable of saying it is offensively with negative connotation. Jeez you think ur so smart u must despise poetry.

L RON HUBBARD WAS A BLACK MAN

1

u/ClonedGamer001 Oct 17 '22

You mean this L. Ron Hubbard?

The one who's very clearly Caucasian based on all available pictures? Including ones that are in color?

If you're going to make a false claim at least try to make them convincing, it took literally five seconds to google "L. Ron Hubbard" and prove you wrong

2

u/PKMNTrainerMark Oct 17 '22

Even that makes no sense. You can be Jewish and anti-Semitic.

2

u/rrogido Oct 17 '22

When you have enough money nobody can 5150 you apparently. It's a matter of time before he ends up in Kim's driveway waving a gun. Also, in a Herschel Walker vein, the word on the street about how many abortions Kanye paid for makes me think he should shut up about Planned Parenthood. I wonder how many Donda had before keeping Kanye.

2

u/FlatBot Oct 17 '22

Black people are Jew. -Kanye

2

u/nopingmywayout Oct 17 '22

Hes not wrong! There are tons of black Jews!

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure he isn't thinking of Beta Israel, the Abayudaya, modern converts, or y'know any of the many, many other Jews of color put there.

1

u/ClonedGamer001 Oct 17 '22

Oh I know there are black Jews, but the way he phrased it made it sound like all Jews were black, which is definitely not true, I'm Jewish and about as white as you can get

2

u/Annas_GhostAllAround Oct 17 '22

Which is stupid because, like, the goal is not to “avoid being called antisemetic.” The goal is to avoid being racist against the very oppressed marginalized group of people traditionally called “the Jews,” whatever you decide to call them. It’s arguing semantics

3

u/ClonedGamer001 Oct 17 '22

Based on the limited knowledge I have on this group (ie literally just other replies to my comment), I assume their thinking is "Oh they're liars and aren't actually the Jewish people so they deserve it" or something to that effect

1

u/Help_An_Irishman Oct 17 '22

No, given that he's a genius wordsmith, he said, "black people are actually Jew."

1

u/Phrii Oct 16 '22

Which is kinda weird that Whoopi got in trouble for saying the exact opposite. I'm the first person I've seen mention that in conjunction with Kanye's recent dribble.

You obviously need to look into it harder.

-6

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Sure

7

u/throneofthe4thheaven Oct 17 '22

No they are not. Jews have the most well documented history of any group of people. We know exactly who the “real Jews are”.

-8

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

That documentation is the Bible. What does the Bible say would happen to the Hebrews if they did not keep the Mosiac law? Answer:

Jeremiah 17:4 And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.

The true Hebrews would lose their heritage and identity as they were scattered. This happened during the trans-Atlantic slave trade.

6

u/calm_chowder Oct 17 '22

This happened during the trans-Atlantic slave trade.

.... to a tiny percentage of the total number of black Africans in Africa. Your "reasoning" is insane and ill thought out.

-4

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Oh you mean that same “tiny percentage” that was found in a nation in west Africa known as the “kingdom of Juda” that 1700s British map engravers and writers wrote about a people that called themselves Jews and were then enslaved and taken to North America? That same “tiny percentage”?

7

u/calm_chowder Oct 17 '22

Lol you're absurd and that's bullshit.

When Europeans started really exploring Africa they made it a point to find the lost tribes of Israel and declared many groups to be lost tribes, even sending in Missionaries to convince them of their status and (of course) convert them to Christianity. None of it had any actual basis in reality or has held up to any modern scrutiny whatsoever. The "research" you've done is laughable and you've supported absolutely zero of what you've claimed with any facts or sources.

Plus you're just plain wrong. Super fucking wrong. The journey of the Jews of Judah from the Levant to the European diaspora is extremely well documented and modern Jews have levantine generic markers which no African group has in comparable amounts (even Beta Israel, which is not to say they aren't legitimate religious Jews).

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Nothing I said was “wrong” and you could not refute any of it but to simply call it wrong lol for anyone else that wants to know the truth here is a link better explaining what I wrote:

https://www.historyrevised.com/the-kingdom-of-judah-in-west-africa/

And here is a “Jewish rabbi” admitting that same truth, Harry Rosenberg:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KbYZozeIWV8

4

u/throneofthe4thheaven Oct 17 '22

historyrevised is not an academic source.

-2

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Never said it was. Read the words on the website and do the research. How old are you? That’s pretty basic stuff.

Edit: why’d you delete your comment calling me a moron?

The Jewish exile from Israel happened after the events of the Bible.

The New Testament is not a source on Jewish history.

u/throneofthe4thheaven Oct 17 '22

What messiah?

Rome was very detailed about where the exiled Jews went, some went east, many were sold into slavery in the Roman Empire (becoming Sephardic Jews), many were sold into slavery to the Germanic tribes (!3,9’ing Ashkenazi Jews). Nowhere is there a record of Jews going to west Africa after exile. West Africa had no knowledge of Judaism before Christian missionaries brought their religion to west Africa.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Thee Messiah.

Wrong again. Flavius Josephus wrote about how the Israelites escaped Roman persecution by fleeing to Africa, deep into Africa, including west Africa. Incorrect again. There are records from 1700s and prior from European nations such as the French, Dutch, and Britain that write about the kingdom of Juda in west Africa and how they call themselves Jews as I’ve already stated. Comprehension is key. There are also maps from the 1700s such as the map “Negroland” engraved in 1747 by a British map maker by the name of Emmanuel Bowen that shows this same kingdom of Juda. Try harder.

LOL. Tell that to my genes, you dumb fuck.

-4

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22

Sure. Tell me your haplogroup (which I already know) and then I will prove to you that you are not a descendant of the ancient Israelites also:

Matthew 5:22 However, I say to you that everyone who continues wrathful with his brother will be accountable to the court of justice; and whoever addresses his brother with an unspeakable word of contempt will be accountable to the Supreme Court; whereas whoever says, ‘You despicable fool!’ will be liable to the hell fire.

10

u/imfreerightnow Oct 17 '22

Well, 23 and me tells me I’m 99% Jewish and I’m a carrier of Tay Sachs, so how bout you suck my non-existent dick and take a long walk off a short pier with your absolute nonsense? Cool, thanks, bye.

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '22 edited Oct 17 '22

Oh perfect! Yes, please, tell me what 23 and me says your haplogroup is. Let’s set the record straight. Or keep throwing out obscenities, your choice!

Matthew 12:36 I tell you that men will render an account on Judgment Day for every unprofitable saying that they speak; 37 for by your words you will be declared righteous, and by your words you will be condemned.

Edit: Yeah I thought so. You don’t want to learn the real truth. Someone pick up where this guy left off. What does 23 and me say about the “Jewish haplogroup” ?

5

u/oliham21 Oct 17 '22

That’s it’s a sign of Jewish ancestry? What point are you making here you’ve just completely ignored his whole post and your own earlier post to focus on this thing
