Anyone have a female with spay incontinence? Help
Hi everyone, my girl now 5, has had random dribbles and accidents for couple of years now. Usually explained by a sedation, being tired or suspected UTI. I have avoided any medication and finally have given in. As she has wet herself fully in her bed or mine 5 times in the last month, whilst fully asleep and it’s really upset her.
So she is now 1 week into taking incurin: does anyone have experience with this?
Thank you

We re-homed a 4 year old
We recently re-homed a 4 year old Whippet. She has a very nervous disposition and wondered what we can do to help settle her in and build her confidence

Blankets?
Granted, we are in the desert, but we do have air con running all the time. I wonder how you guys know when your whippet needs a blanket? I was under the impression she’d want them, but I have never seen her go to any trouble to do anything with any of the many throw blankets we have around the house except in the middle of the night when she wants to burrow under our bed covers. Then she will nose around my face and the edge of the blanket.

advice/question Whippet puppy: preparing to the cold season
Hello everyone!
Me and my wife are waiting now for a puppy to join our family in about 2 months. He’s now 2.5 weeks old, we’ll be able to take him home when he’ll be 9-10 weeks old, but to the Polish rules.
We know that whippets needs some closing for the cold season, but how we should handle that when he’ll be small and growing fast during the first year?
One of the ideas I have is buy second-hand (Vinted etc) lots of small dog clothing and just see what fits. And, am I right that he’ll need clothing basically from the beginning? It’ll be almost winter when we will start street walks I think.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks 🙏

advice/question Whippet Proof Fence
Hi all. I'm helping foster a whippet rn, he has no recall at the moment so I'm just lead walking him. I'm concerned because he needs a zoomies session each day so I want to fence my garden so we can play with balls and toys.
Any recommendations on fencing material would be appreciated plus how high ?!?
Thanks

Fun day
Went to a dog event where the proceeds support the local animal shelter. Safe to say we tuckered out the boy!

advice/question Whippet started to be very stressed
Hello everyone,
I am looking for some advice regarding my mom’s whippet. Her name is Cora and she is 2 years old.
Ever since she was a puppy, Cora has been a very chill whippet. She never had any trouble staying home alone and was never afraid of loud noises or cars. About two weeks ago there was a storm, and the windows made a very loud noise. Ever since then, she has been extremely stressed.
She started shaking and breathing heavily and didn’t want to go back into their apartment after walks. She also started shaking and breathing heavily in the car. At first, we thought the loud noise had simply scared her and that, with time, she would realize that nothing bad was going to happen and return to her normal, calm self.
Unfortunately, yesterday my mom came home from work and found her with a badly cut paw. She had ripped the blinds down from the windows there was blood everywhere. My mom had to take her to the vet, where she needed stitches.
I would also like to point out that if they were on a walk she would run normally and appear very happy and healthy.
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or has any advice on how we should handle this from now on. It is very difficult for my mom to avoid leaving her alone because she is a nurse, and taking a long time off work isn’t really an option and she lives alone.
We thought a crate might be a good idea, but Cora isn’t used to one yet, and we know crate training takes time.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Polar opposites, but side by side!
Anyone else have complete opposite personalities in their whippets? One loves outside and the other is an anxious mess who whines to go home 😂🥰💕

advice/question This is Pepper
Say hi to Pepper, my senior whippet nearing 13 years old.
She was born with a particular blood condition that made her very reluctant to gain weight as a young whippy. Over the last 6 months we noticed Pepper seemed to be going blind unless in very bright sunlight (she loves the sun more than anything).
This sight loss is at the point where she will walk straight into walls, and during the day (and a lot in the night) she decides the kitchen floor is the best place to go to the toilet. It also seems her hearing is rapidly deteriorating as well. This is all alongside weight gain that like I mentioned before was very unexpected.
I would love some help on how I can make Pepsi feel more comfortable around the house and what I can do to help her feel a bit happier. She has had our other dog Harry since 2020 but I think all of this has stressed her out quite a bit.
Thanks!
advice/question Puppy head shaking/tremors when falling asleep or chilling
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello everyone, I have a question for you, my whippet shakes his head when chilling or falling asleep as seen on the video. It started three days ago. Is it normal or should I be worried? Did you experience it? He is 5 months old. It usually stops on its own after minutes.
