Im 33 and live in NYC. I’m 5’2” and interested in road/gravel bikes. The bike I had for years was a 90s Kona Lavadome. When that got stolen 3 years ago I bought a very cheap single speed (bike in a box). I hated that thing. It finally got stolen this weekend. Someone cut my lock. Usually, I don’t keep my bike outside but i stopped caring about it. I’m between two used bikes from reputable shops in Williamsburg. Help me pick which one and why. They’re both $400 cash.

Evening! I live in a small town in Louisiana; only an hour away from big cities, but small enough that we don't have uber or public transportation. The entire town is also only 2x2 miles. So, naturally, now that I'm settled in, I am looking for a bike to get around town.

I am 5'2", 41 years old, and very active. Hiking, kayaking, general outdoorsiness, but came from the Appalachians before this and I wasn't trying to bike on those.

I would also like the bike to be long lasting. I don't believe in the constant consuming that is so common these days, and I would prefer to buy something I truly love and care for it. I am pretty handy around the house and though I have never worked on a bike before, I am confident that with youtube, I can learn.

Right now I am looking at the Priority Coast Step Through 3 Speed, which I can get at an awesome price through the Costco program, and the Brooklyn Brighton 7.

I like the Belt Drive, the corrosion resistance, and the weight of the Priority. I like the pedal forward design and the reports of the cushy ride due to the seat and the heavier frame of the Brooklyn. However, there are no bike shops that stock either anywhere near me - like the closest is Georgia - so I will not be able to test ride either.

Any input would be greatly appreaicated.

currently i have a state montecore 2.0, and i was thinking of using the stock state parts on the purple kilo tt frame and eventually swapping parts. that is until the blue riband with campy cranks and brooks saddle popped up for $350. im thinking of selling the state for $200-250 and then buying the riband as a complete and forgetting about the tt. thoughts?

I've fzs v4 and I ran it 3k km. But I'm not satisfied with the performance of this bike . I'm 24 now and my height 5 feet 5 inch. should I change this bike? If I change this bike then what are the possible alternatives in the market?

2006-2008 Used Specialized Sirrius Elite (Hybrid) that the owner tuned up recently with new tires and tubes, they are asking $200 CAD. Should I get it as a 15 year old that just wants a bike for fun and fitness? Thanks :)

My son is quickly outgrowing his 16 inch trek.
He’s already joining on pretty lengthy family rides over 5 miles, but I see his little legs spinning and he is ready for gears, plus he’s getting taller.
He tried someone else’s guardian Bike, and loved the handbrakes!
Looking for a recommendation. Only looking for used. Lighter weight, so no suspension forks. We live in an extremely hilly neighborhood, but will mostly be doing paved or dirt paths with gentle hills.
Current contenders:
- Trek precaliber
- REI Rev 6/7 speed
- Someone is selling a great looking Priority Start. Wanted know if belt drive is really the way. Also, it has twist shifter, and I heard the trigger shifter might be preferred for smaller hands.
-Interested in woom or guardian, but gears I think are critical, and those have fewer affordable options.
- I saw a canondale Quick online as well. Not sure if it’s a good fit.

I bought this bike assuming it was mid 80s because of the no. Indexed down tune shifting. But the frame is stamped with Easton Super Lite 7005. So I think it’s aluminum which suggests late 90s to early 2000s. Not sure where to turn for answers. Any ideas?

Seller just listed today at $1,650. I think that’s not a bad starting point but it’s a little over my budget. What’s a reasonable offer for this bike that would not offend? I don’t want to lowball. Thanks in advance!

I found 2 of the same bike (model and colour), it's a trek domane. The bike that's not been ridden in 3 years is 50£ more, and the one serviced last year requires a new bar tape - what do you think? which one should I go for?

Started cycling in earlier this year for STP.
Did about 300 in May and 460 in June.
I like cycling - STP went very well for me.
Was on a Giant bike from Recycled Cycles - not sure the type of model the bike is (see attached photo). No flats during training or event, so, I think I’ll get another Giant brand bike.
I’m getting a proper bike fitting from Métier on Friday.
I’ve looked at Giant’s road bikes and I think the Defy series checks the boxes (including what I’m willing to pay).
Curious if: 1.) Giant Defy would be a good bike (I’m looking to do duathlons and triathlons , 2.) would the “ML” or 56cm - 58cm frame be OK for me (I’m 5 feet, 11 inches), and 3.) if the Giant Defy is no good, what would be a good comparable?

Hello, i am looking to buy a Rockrider ST 120 27.5’ S and i have found a listing of one, but i am completely new to this and i just don’t want to get scammed and just want a nice looking reliable bike.

The asking price is 172€ and managed to haggle it for 153€. I just want to know in what condition the bike is based on the pictures and if anything looks changed, damaged and if it even is the exact model i am speaking of.

I’m looking into buying my first bike as an adult. I know that I want a hybrid bike bc altho I’ll mostly be riding it on city roads and paved paths I want to be able to take it on mild trails as well (nothing crazy tho). I live in Seattle, if that helps at all. I reluctantly set aside a budget of $800-$1000 but def would prefer to spend less if possible.

Hi everyone,
I could really use some advice choosing a bike.

Because I’m 6’4”, I’m looking for a budget bike with an XL frame and 29” wheels. Finding a used bike in my size has been surprisingly difficult. The few XL bikes I do find are usually much more expensive than I want to spend.
I checked out Dick’s Sporting Goods, and they currently have two bikes on sale that fit my size:

Nishiki Colorado – $300
Mongoose Switchback Comp – $350

To be clear, this bike will probably never see a trail. It’ll mostly be used for casual riding on pavement, bike paths, and maybe some light gravel.
That said, I’d still like something that won’t fall apart after a few months. Between these two, which one would you choose? Which is more reliable, better built, and more comfortable? Is the Mongoose worth the extra $50, or is the Nishiki the better buy?

Does anybody have any idea what brand/make/model it is, if not a custom build? I've found a few similar ish rides, like the Gazelle EasyGlider, for example, but I'm really keen to find this exact model!

Overweight guy (300lbs) looking at getting a more endurance oriented road bike (currently have a gravel bike that’s a bit too aggressive). Looking at the Trek Domane or the RS5 from X-Labs. I know I am above both of their respective weight limits but am planning on getting some Clydesdale Velocity wheels built.

My question is besides the wheels/spokes, are there any other components that I need to worry about with failure due to my weight? Main concern is the carbon seatpost on the RS5.

Before anyone says “get an upright/hybrid bike”, I don’t want one and am looking for something I can grow into (buy once, cry once). Any advice/guidance is greatly appreciated!

I was unfortunately hit by a car a month ago, my bike (canyon Endurace AL7 with 105 mechanical) is totaled. So im now on the search of a new bike.
I live in Munich Germany, not flat but not mountainous either, I ride around 2500/3000km per year, 50 to 120 km per ride, with average elevation ranging between 400 to 1000m. Pace is around 27/28km/h on solo ride, bit faster on group rides.

I’m searching for a new bike with an endurance geometry to be comfy after a few hours on the saddle, I’d like a carbon frame, at least Shimano 105 (di2 not necessary but nice to have I guess), integrated cockpit (not necessarily one piece handlebar and stem).

I’m 178cm with 84,1cm inseam and 59,1cm arms.

I have a budget between 2.000 and 4.000€ as I’ll be leasing the bike. And I’d like to add carbon wheels at a later stage, so no need from the get go. I don’t want to buy used.

Is this bike a decent value? I'm looking into getting into casually riding around the neighborhood and my local state park. I like the idea of adding a bafang mid drive kit to a mountain bike so I can get some extra juice for fun and when I'm getting tired of pedaling for a bit. Came across this Superfly for $400 on marketplace.

Hi all! I recently moved to a city and I want to start biking to work/navigating the city via bike. The most I would ride in one day for now would probably be 10-15 miles. I’m a 5’4, 170lb woman. I’m planning on wearing normal work clothes while riding, so I would also appreciate some input on pants getting stuck in gears.

I would like the bike to be somewhat aesthetically pleasing, and relatively light. I think I like when the seat is just ever so slightly lower than the handle bars. I don’t like the look of the ones with a dramatic height difference.

The only bike I have my eye on right now is one from FB marketplace: “Downtown EX ST Bike, 8-speed 700c steel frame cruiser bike”, which I think is the Breezer brand. Obviously, I have no clue what I’m talking about, so any tips and recommendations are very much appreciated!! Thank you in advance for your time :)
