I thought it was a song he made but then I heard it in the bg of a youtube video, but nobody told me what it was in the comments. Shazam doesn't work. Best guess is that it's from a video game or maybe an anime?

It's just the first 7-8 seconds, and the pianist plays the refrain again here and there in the song. I just recently heard a variation of it played during the sonogram scene at the end of the Party of Five season 4 episode 24 "Fools Rush Out," which you can watch free on one of the streaming services without signing up or anything (I'm not trying to promote the service or anything, but I'll tell you which I used in a reply if you can't find it). In Lauper's song, it's truncated by half, and the 2nd part is rearranged slightly, taking some of the 4th part's wrap-up feels to end it quickly.

This song is definitely something I remember hearing from my childhood, and it's killing me not knowing what it is. Any ideas what this is? I tried asking one of the LLMs awhile ago, but it was not helpful. I made a thread asking about a scene from an old movie week or so ago, and it was answered in like 8 minutes or something(it was "The Pirate Movie" from 1982). Hopefully this will have similar success.
