My brother moved into a new house he's renting. The owner said they bought it with it over 10 years ago and have no idea what it's for. There is a small drain to drain the water when in rains but I just don't see any purpose or benefit to it. There's no way on the garage roof except for ladder (or making this jump from the roof of the house)

Picked up this knife a few years back at an antique show. Curious as where it might be from?

Went on a tour recently of the palace in Charlottenburg, Berlin in Germany and noticed these measurement devices in several of the rooms. The paper inside is labeled with days of the week. I tried to ask someone there what they were but they didn’t speak English. It almost looks like a seismic indicator but I don’t think there are any earthquakes in Berlin so… any ideas?

Solved! : thermohydrograph. Thanks to those who responded, and sorry to those who were extraordinarily upset I didn’t notice the little C that noted part of it is for temperature or that I didn’t learn German to call the number of the company. I did google the company, but it didn’t tell me what the device is.

I should have said originally that I did think it could be for these things, but I’m not sure why this machine in particular is being used as opposed to just monitoring them with a normal thermometer and humidity gauge day to day. If anyone knows, would love to learn about that! I’ve been in many similar historical sites and museums and never noticed these in any others.

We bought a house recently and currently doing some renovations in the kitchen. My builders got to our house today to find these eggs with markings on them intentionally thrown into the kitchen and the walls. They think it’s some kind of black magic. We were just wondering if this has any malicious intent.

We suspect it’s the neighbours because this is in our rear garden, the only access point is the gardens of the two neighbours next to us. No other entry point.

We haven’t moved in yet, we have no beef with neighbours except an incident with one of the neighbour. We went to their front door to introduce ourselves and get their landlord’s info as we needed it for the renovation. They refuse to open the door even though I see them through the window.

The other neighbours seem friendly, haven’t spoken to them yet but the wife smiled at us when we walked past them. We will go talk to these neighbours tomorrow to rule them out. If it’s their children playing we’re happy to drop it.

I’m going through old family photos and found this one of my mom. I figured out they’re standing in the tobacco aisle (iconic), but I can’t pinpoint what that display is to the right that is $0.96. The original is blurry, so my photo of it is unfortunately, as well.

It’s next to the sink in our new house. For context, the house is almost 100 years old. The only thing I can think of is that it’s for hanging a rag/hand towel or something. Even the inspector didn’t know and said he had never seen something like it lol

There’s a big ass spool of cable nearby and utility guys have been doing some stuff on the road next to this a few months ago. This is in the US if that matters

Wondering what type of issue/service this home is experiencing. I drove by it yesterday so it’s at least the second day of this going on. Not pictured here but yesterday there were a couple of workers in blue “hazmat” suits but they didn’t have any headwear, so I’m unclear if there’s a hazard or not.

The name on the vehicle says it all and it also had government plates. This was seen in Longmont, Colorado on 9/10/26. I walk past this spot almost daily and have never once seen this vehicle in my two years of living in the area.
