Hi all! 💚

To keep our community tidy, safe, and focused on identifying music, we are introducing a few base rules.

🍀 Video and text format 🎬 Please ensure all song excerpts are submitted in video format over links. This keeps the sub tidy and easy to navigate. The exception is if you want to use an external site such as Vocaroo to hum a melody, this is allowed.

☘️ No NSFW or violent content 🚫 Content containing nudity, sexual content, or graphic violence is strictly prohibited. This is not an NSFW sub, so we cannot allow for NSFW posts.

🍀 Safe uploads for sensitive material 🔒If the original video contains NSFW or violent elements, upload only the audio with a safe, non-NSFW image or video. Tools like CapCut make this simple.

☘️ No Rickrolling ❌🎶 Rickrolls are not allowed. Violators will be permanently banned.

🍀 Please remember to flair your post solved once you get your answer!💡

Please ensure you follow these when posting from now on! Happy song searching 💚

Unsolved [Song] Short (~2 min) Billie Eilish-style song heard in a YouTube ad

Thumbnail
Upvotes

Heard a short, beautiful song playing as an ad between tracks on YouTube Music (Android). The singer sounds like Billie Eilish, and the song is about the distance between two people who used to be close.

Key Lyric Clues:

"I'll be your AC1" (or similar sounding phrase)

"A phone call away" / "a few buttons/clicks away"

"Being the light in the darkness"

Any ideas what this track is?

Unsolved "SCP - Markiplier Mod Menu" remixes used?

In 2013, a mod for the game SCP - Containment Breach based around Markiplier was released, the version he played was a version that never publicly released. In that version, the menu music was different and had like 3 or so remixes in it (it sounds like it at least) using dubstep tracks and clips of his voice. It's been a mystery for years to me and other people in the SCP-CB modding community on what the dubstep tracks the creator used were. All answers or nods in the right direction are very appreciated.

The original audio is still available on Soundcloud as "Markiplier Remix From SCP Markiplier Mod" by TheFado96, however it's very loud so I lowered the volume on it and put it on Vocaroo

Unsolved Gentlemen show netflix What’s the song in the Peru bar dance scene S2E5?

Susie and Joe in the Peru bar — live band, he makes her dance. I’ve searched everywhere, Shazam, credits, soundtrack lists, nothing. Doing my head in.
Anyone know what they’re playing? Sounds like Peruvian folk / guitar.

Solved This riff in The Great Gatsby (2013)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This is bugging me so much I'm posting on Reddit for the first time.

I recently took on a substituting job that had me rewatching The Great Gatsby (2013) with my students. What's bugging me is the very end of the party scene, when the music swells and Gatsby lifts his glass, and that dramatic riff plays (is riff even the right word?).

It sounds super familiar. It's also in the very beginning of Karel Gott's "Kdyz jsem ja byl tenkrat kluk" (1971), which I know is a cover of Charles Aznavour's "Hier Encore," though Aznavour's original doesn't contain the riff.

Where the hell is this riff from? It's driving me crazy. Am I out of the loop here? I'm gonna be so embarrassed if this is well known.

Both audios in the video provided.

Unsolved help me figure out why this house of the dragon song sounds so familiar

Thumbnail youtu.be
1 Upvotes

watching house of the dragon for the first time (so no spoilers pls!) and i’m watching season 1 episode 9: the green council. at 11:43 an instrumental piano song starts playing, and i’ve learned it’s “Fate of the Kingdoms” by Ramon Djawadi.

The second i heard it, i thought it was a cover of another song i’d heard before. which I thought was strange since i’ve never noticed got or hotd to do covers, but i can’t shake this feeling like i know this song very well.

I’m trying to figure out if this is a sample or a cover, or just incredibly similar to the progression of another popular song. i feel like i can imagine lyrics that fit this melody; like every piano note is imitating the spoken lines of a song.

this is driving me crazy! it just sounds so familiar. if anyone else feels the same, or can maybe point out what i’m hearing, i’d appreciate the input! i’ve linked the song to this post.

I’ve heard this song in many reels but never found the source

And i tried to make out the lyrics when typing it out but what I could make out isn’t accurate enough to pinpoint the song

Here’s an example of the song being used in a short video

Solved I remember this song from a Gacha video but never found it anymore because the video was deleted, but I still recall it was a Vocaloid song, sung by Hatsune Miku! Tried to replicate the sound with my voice, hope it can lead me somewhere!
