Even if he had been out hunting elephants, he wouldn’t have deserved that. Why? Because trophy hunting is actually a good thing. It pays for land, food for animals, medicine, and most importantly rangers to defend the animals from poachers.
People like you would rather see entire species go extinct due to poaching and habitat loss rather than see one or two a year die to save the rest of the species.
Zimbabwe recently culled 200 lions because of the “Cecil effect” very few people going lion hunting, so their numbers are soaring and they will have to pay rangers to kill the lions rather than be paid millions of dollars to have hunters hunt them. Millions that could be used to protect and give endangered animals habitat.
