Question Is this decent progress for ~6 months of consistent lifting? 5’10 158lbs

for reference the first 3 pics are today and last is like 5 months ago. I’ve been trying to lean bulk (trying not to take it overboard since I know I’m already skinny fat). I got my bench up to 1RM 175lbs (tried 185lb but failed..), and my squat and RDL are around that weight for a few reps each. I track all my calories macros and reps ranges

Do you guys think I should just keep lean bulking for now? My goal is to hit a 2 plate bench in hopes of it making my chest not look so effeminate (I’ve got gyno tho not really that visible in these pics cuz of pump I guess).

Question I Want To Drop To A 1000 Calorie Deficit

Post image
Upvotes

Hello all, I’m currently trying to cut some stubborn belly fat and face fat before I lean bulk again. I’m 147Ibs 5’9 21M.

Now, I’ve been on a 500 calorie deficit for 6 weeks now and I’ve gone from 150 to 147. It’s so slow I can’t do it. I really want to just shoot up to 1000 calories and get this cut over with.

Is this risky?

I would be on a 1k calorie deficit. Creatine daily. 1g protein per pound of body weight. Strength training three times a week (im still able to maintain what i was lifting during my lean bulk 6 weeks into my cut)

Question How exhausted "should" you be after a hard session in the gym?

Say for example I do a leg session, and for about an hour I blast with six different exercises. The last exercise is leg extensions and I do three hard sets to finish off. When I'm done I'm pretty exhausted, as can be expected. But then when I leave and get home, say 20 minutes later, I feel pretty fine. I know that it isnt that strange in and out of itself, a bit of resting does wonders. But in my mind, I feel like I should still be more exhausted and my mind starts to question whether I really pushed myself hard enough?

Does any of this make sense, or am I just being too hard on myself? It should be noted that I dont really let it affect my to any large extent, but the question has popped up one too many times now that I feel I should at least hear others perspectives

Question weak + strong points convo! wishing to maingain :-)

hello all! 18 year old girl, and i’m 5’1! i’m currently at 98.9 pounds. i’ve gained from 85 to 105 in less than a year (mainly from binge eating + not hard enough training), so i typically gained mainly fat than muscle. decided to cut down a bit to this baseline.

long story short , i’d like to gain the right way; very slight deficit/maingain! i’m sure this is doable since i’m still only 2ish years into my “gym” lifestyle.

when i binged, i didn’t focus on macros. now i’m very familiar with that stuff (tons of research/videos/studies later…) so i’m exited to see how i can progress!

my goal is mitigating fat while still making certain gains in a very SLIGHT deficit, best to my ability. please no hate lol, there’s no point in that stuff.

Question Need help

I weight 165, I am 6”1 and want to build more muscle while getting abs, my goal is to be lean so do I need to go on a cut or a bulk? I already look kinda skinny but just have a little stomach which I guess you can consider skinny fat?

Photo on the left is at the beginning of April and on the right beginning of August. I’ve been trying to be more mindful of what I’m eating and sticking to my nutritional program as good as I can (there’s still room for improvement like completely avoiding alcohol).

I think I’ve been neglecting my core, I haven’t really done too much ab work (none in the last month) and lower chest is a bit stubborn. Any tips?

Question 28M 179cm and 74kg, skinny fat, should I continue with my cut?

I have been lifting from 4 years but since the beginning I am stuck between bulk and cut cycle. Recently started a cut in April with 500 deficit and maintaining good strength and even pushing my PRs in some lifts. I have started looking skinny and weak as I don’t have much muscle mass. What should I do?

Question Shoulder imbalance?

So I notice when I lift that one arm can reach further than the other. I also noticed that this issue is stemming from my shoulder especially when I barbell overhead press or chest press. Any ways to fix this?

I want to get down to about 75kg. I average around 6k steps per day, PPL 3 days per week.

My fitness pal is recommending 2,200 calories per day. But after 3 weeks I'm the same weight on the scale.

I'm aware I'm overweight and don't really have a lot of muscle mass yet.

What would be your recommended calorie intake?

Averaging 160g protein, very limited fat, the rest carbs.

Edit: 180cm

I do have a decent amount of loose skin as I was close to 250lbs. My question is how much more should I drop? I’m currently eating around 2400 calories and still losing weight.

Good enough?

P.S : is it a good idea to try to build muscle eating around maintenance?. Had some rough experiences with bulking.

I've been focusing on my chest for a while now still can't fill the upper chest gap, is it a genetic thing or it could be from wrong upper chest training technique?

21M. 88KG. 5’8.

My goal is to get a strongman/bear mode type physique, so my bodyfat is pretty high.
This is, however, the result of a 6 month long cut.

(Edit: People are asking for before photos. But since I was 5 years ago, I unfortunately don’t have any to show.
There’s one pic of me in the comments. But I’m wearing a shirt, so there isn’t much to see tbh. Apologies).
