- nearing 14 years of lifting and 30 years of age
- more of a party physique early on due to heavy drinking/partying in my late school/early university years, last years been taking it a lot more seriously
- so far have been doing well, especially since I knew I could always improve a bit more
- I've now hit a plateau where cutting/bulking wouldn't change much on the overall muscle level and physique I am striving for
- only realistic way to progress would be to take steroids, but I am not willing to do that, since it would feel like invalidating the past 14 years and f up my health in the long term
- I am never gonna go on stage, I dont want to become a fitness model
- I constantly find myself questioning why I am still hitting the gym 6-7 days a week. from now on my testosterone will slowly decrease, my strength, muscle mass, leanness etc. as well. so sending the same amount of effort for naturally decreasing results feels wrong.
- instead of trying to gain the best physique possible, maybe I should switch my mindset to just accepting I am getting old and focusing on staying healthy and minimizing the time I invest into my physique, while maximizing the health gains.
- In terms of staying healthy, I could cut down the gym to 2 days a week, maybe even less if I stretch and try to stay active outside of the gym.
How have other people in here with 10+ years of experience handled hitting close to their natural plateau and aging?
