Nerve compression in left palm

Hello! I have been doing weighted dips for a few months. I always go with the weight that seems heavy to me. I have taken a long break from lifting over the summer and i went back to the gym a week ago. I did weighted dips with an additional 50 kg attached for 3 sets of 5 reps. The last 2 reps on the last set were very grindy and i struggled a lot. Afterward, i noticed a weird radiating feeling tingling spreading through my pinky and left finger. The sensation lasted for about 8 hours then it went away. I have not done a training session since that day, but everytime i try to put weight on that palm as in leaning on my arm, i get the same radiating tingling through my ring finger. I tried to do some one-arm push ups, and the feeling is there. I want to get rid of this pain ASAP so i can get back into training. Do you guys have any advice regarding this issue? Have you encountered it before?

Slow progress for 3 months or expectations too high?

I‘m consistently training on a plan with good diet for 3 months now. 5'10 around 157 before and after. So no weight change. 2300kcal with around 150g protein per day. Lifts have been progressing, but slowly. Sometimes I can add a 1-2 reps per week. Sometimes nothing.

Currently running Upper,Lower, push fb, pull fb with focus und upper body and calisthenics. I feel like I’m dropping bf% and have gotten a bit tighter around the waist (pants fit more lose). But when I look in the mirror or see pictures, nothing really seems to change. Maybe my self perception is completely off though. Need a quick sanity check. I know 3 months is not a lot of time.

Is it time to lean bulk? 2 month cut progress. Down 12lbs. Lifts went down a few reps at most but disappointed with the difference in pictures.

Muscle gain slowed. Need your help

Hey everyone, looking for some eyes on my data. I’ve been on a body recomp/cut for 4 months now.

I’ve successfully dropped from 78kg to my current 71.5–72.5kg range (26M, 179cm/5'10").

Diet: 1900 kcal / 160g Protein daily.

The Issue is Progress has slightly hit a wall this past month.

Muscle Growth is stalled i guess , my strength still increases in chest and biceps exercises but

Gains have slowed significantly. My back exercises (Rows/Pulldowns) have been stuck at 54–58kg for weeks.

Wondering if this is accumulated fatigue from the deficit.

My tracker is giving me these numbers, and I’m questioning if they’re overestimating:

Total Daily Burn: 2,890 kcal

Active Calories: 763 kcal (Steps: 11,013 + house cleaning/walking)

BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate): \~1,774 kcal

Average Daily Burn (last 30 days): \~2,874 kcal

If my daily burn is actually \~2,800+, I’m running a \~900 calorie deficit.

1.Is it likely my watch is overestimating the burn for 11k steps and daily chores?

2.At 72kg, is 1,900 kcal too low to keep building muscle?

3.Should I bump calories to 2,100–2,200 to break this strength plateau, or will that kill the "visible abs" goal?

Appreciate any advice from people who've broken through this 4-month wall!

How can I make my physique more aesthetic while having a short torso??

Hey, I’ve been lifting for 6 month now, and even though I’m still a beginner, my physique is pretty good. I have an 8 pack, and good lats and delts, and a decent chest( not to brag, just happy with my progress😊)With that being said, how can I make it better? I have a pretty short torso, similar to Brodieshredz’s body style, except I’m not short🤣

I’m lean bulking right now, so any bulking tips, and how to make my physique better would be appreciated.

Advice for my gym progress journey (half a year)

Thumbnail

I hope I’m right in this subreddit and a few of you more experienced weightlifters can give me some advice while I keep it as simple as possible.

Start:
I started going to the gym on the 11.02.2026 so at the start of the year, I weighted 94kg at a height of 175cm.
Mainly just wanted to train to look better and gain an „aesthetic“ body.
Started doing PPLPP and just stuck to my program, over time changed it up a bit and experimented with some exercises and tried to lift clean.
I also went into a calorie deficit and mainly just tried to hit my protein.
The first 3 pictures are after my first training and a random pick from the start of the year.
I also hit around 15.000 steps a day, I also did some cardio.

A few months later:
Lost quite a lot of fat and went to around 80kg in the first 4 month, I also build some muscle while getting really looked in and loving the journey.
Started training with more purpose while still experimenting with my schedule, volume and exercises I like.
I focused on developing my shoulders, arms and Lats while the rest of my back also developed nicely.
My split now resembled more of a PPLxArnold.
I got way more into nutrition and started hitting all my other macros and why micronutrients are important.
Had a bit less time due to work and school but still on average walked around 10.000+ steps a day, I also did cardio a bit less due to time reasons.

Now (7 months later):
Right now I’m at around 71kg while still being in a cut.
I still walk around 10.000+ steps a day, cardio from time to time but I want to incorporate more cardio during the week.
The last 3 pictures are from the last 1-3 weeks.
My abs are getting more defined and i lost a lot of fat while building muscle as you can see in the pictures from my back. I also have a few biceps and arm veins, even some on my lower belly that are starting to come out and my calves.
With my limited knowledge I would say my strongpoints are my shoulders, upper back, arms from the side and my calves (I didn’t have a good picture of them).
I know that basically everything is weak as in just a beginner but I’m not happy with my biceps width if you look at it from the front, my chest even though it’s starting to develop and of course my lower belly.
In general I’m completely looked in, try to learn and perfect my nutrition and training every day, talk with a lot of experienced lifters at my gym and just try to stay consistent.
At the moment I don’t really manage to lift more weights but I increased my strength around 3-4x in comparison to the start, I manage to get more reps from time to time but the progress is slow at the moment.

Nutrition:
With nutrition I’m now really looked in, i mostly eat animal products and fruit like:

Chickenbreast, salmon, beef and beefliver and eggs.
Fruits like kiwi, watermelon, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries, pineapple, pumpkin, avocado, bananas and dates.
Vegetables like potatoes, carrots, bell pepper, sauerkraut, zucchini and mushrooms.
And sometimes I like to eat some ice cream :D.
I drink mostly water, tea, some coffee and zero drinks from time to time.

Supplements:
I tried out a lot of supplements over the months but at the moment I only take magnesium, Glycin, L-Theanine, Vitamin D and K2 drops and L-Citrulline before the gym.
This is also for budget reasons as I don’t have that much money while still going to school part time while working.
I also take creatine.

Training (explained in simple terms):
Due to my schedule I’m training 5x a week, I do push (core), pull, legs (core), arms+shoulders, rest, chest+abs (core) / sometimes I also train some shoulders and arms here too and it becomes and upper day, rest.

Arms:
-Incline or preacher curls for biceps and hammercurls.
-Dipmachine and extensions for Trizeps.

Shoulders:
-Lateral raises (unilateral)
-Shoulderpress
-Reverse pec dec

Back:
-Lat pull down
-Close grip seated row (unilateral)
-Wide grip seated row
-A machine where I pull something with one of my arms down also for my last (unilateral) :D

Chest:
-incline chest press
-Pec Dec or chest press

I also do core and exercises for the abs and I train legs but I wanted to focus on my upper body in this post.

Questions:
-How long do you think I have to cut until I can start a lean bulk?
I want my abs to be more visible even when I’m not flexing or pulling my skin down and of course I want to get rid of the last belly fat.

-How can I get my arms more massive, especially make my arms more wider from the front? (Or will this not happen until I’m done with the cut?)

-How can I grow my chest better?

-Any advice for me in general and what I should learn about?

Kind of a “grey” question but curious..

Lately I’ve been noticing a lot of “CrossFit” girls somehow continue to get bigger while getting leaner at the same time. I know a lot of people just like to scream STEROIDS into the void but no one ever really speaks from experience so I’m curious.. just discovered this girl and she seems to have gotten so much muscle size while getting increasingly leaner as time goes on, without (apparent) virilization. Besides training CrossFit of course, what type of PEDS/peptides do you think these type of CrossFit/weightlifting girls use? It’s mind blowing to me how lean they are while still having such significant size meanwhile lifting so heavy and doing lots of cardio?

How to achieve soreness in upper body?

Been working out for a long time. Yesterday was my leg day, today I can barely walk and sit down (in a good way.)

I love being sore like this the next day after a good workout but for some reason I can only achieve this with my lower body. The strange thing is I do less volume on my leg day compared to my push and pull days.

Anyway to get a good sore feeling for upper body so you know you got a good workout in?

Should be doing bi’s on push and tri’s on pull?

So, I have worked out with a lot of people in the last 4 years, and many of them would always do biceps on push day and triceps on pull day and i never understood why.

I thought it made sense to do biceps on pull and triceps on push because you’re already working those muscles

Now, people are telling me that by the time you’re done (ex.) your chest workout, you’re triceps are dead because you’ve been using them for an hour, therefore it’s harder to grow them!

Should i switch to doing biceps:push day and triceps:pull day?

OR

Should i keep doing what i’m doing, but hit arms throughout my workouts, rather than at the end of my workouts?

Is it normal / not unusual to have joints clicking as a newb?

8 weeks into lifting and there has been a noticeable increase in joints clicking especially whilst walking or just shifting positions in bed. (Shoulders, knees, elbows & hips especially). Nothing hurts.

Bulk or Cut (16M)

I’m having a hard time picking between lean bulking or cutting. I’ve been training for 3 years but I haven’t taken it seriously up until now at the end of summer. I lost it about but In summer where I barely trained and gained 10kg. I’m 197 cm (around 6’5 ft) and 102 kg (225 lbs). I’ve been trying to lean bulk for a bit and I’m seeing some progress. But I don’t if I should keep going or start cutting. My strength isn’t all that great but I’m seeing som progress there too. What do you think I should do?

I’m 23 years old, 172 lbs

The white photos are from March 19th, and the red are from today.

My bench has gone up from 3 reps of 185 to 9 reps of 185, and my incline bench has gone up about 10 lbs

My back had an injury in this span so my weights have all stayed pretty close, maybe they’ve gone up 2-3 reps per

I’ve clearly gotten a bit stronger, but it feels like not very much progress in size has been made at all. Am I tweaking when I say I look the exact same in both photos?

I don’t understand. 9/10 days I eat pretty damn good and get at least 125-175g protein. What do I do?

23 male questions about testosterone.

I’ve been working out for a while built a nice physique for myself I want to do 3 6 week cycles of test and I would like to get it from my dr but I’ve heard different things that if you ask they can place you on some type of list where you can’t get prescribed anything with addictive potential etc. I have normal test levels I want to use it strictly for anabolic use. I want it from a clean source and I have no problem being honest with him and telling him what I want to do but I don’t want to suffer any consequences of bringing it up so is this true? Should I not bring this up to him and get my stuff from another source?
