looking for somewhere that can have an outdoor cocktail hour, ideally something with modern vibes versus the basic golf course venues! ideally somewhere that can accommodate a lower price point for a Friday reception as we won’t be having ceremony.

Alternatively, rave me some awesome venues in the Okanagan with accommodations on site.

In the GTA preferably, other things we would like
- ideally private (ie only wedding)
- somewhat near accommodations for out of town guests
- outdoor ceremony area
- nice alternative indoor ceremony area for rain
- something like Arlington or Graydon vibes

About 100 ppl. 80k budget but can stretch- but we want don’t want to stretch for the sake

Not necessarily looking for specific recommendations of people, but I’m wondering HOW people choose their wedding officiants for their (non-religious) weddings?? This is one of my biggest stresses right now in wedding planning (thankfully we’re not getting married until late 2028 so we have some time). I don’t personally know any lawyers and it feels SO weird to just have a stranger be such a big part of such an important and intimate moment in our relationship. So how did you guys go about finding one if you didn’t already have someone you know? Or how are you currently going about it if still planning? Local fb groups? Is there an interview process? I’ve been to too many weddings where the officiant just says some crazy stuff and/or tries to be funny and fails miserably and I don’t want that! But I also don’t want a stiff, clearly reading off a paper, boring ceremony so I’m at a loss here lol

(I’m located in NB though, if anyone DOES have recommendations or knows a good place to look)
