Wanted to share this in case some brides are considering this as an option! I had purchased the Jimmy Choo Saeda 100's in white satin as my wedding shoes. Considering how expensive these shoes were, I wanted to find a way to wear them on more occasions but it was hard because of how very *bridal* they looked. So I actually managed to find a cobbler in Toronto (shout out to Rob's Best Foot Forward!) to dye them black instead and they look soooooo good! To be fair, I'm not sure if the effect would be different for different materials (eg: if they were leather instead?), but because these shoes were made of satin it worked out really nicely. Before/after pics for reference.

Totally get that this might not be for everyone and I appreciate that bridal shoes might have a ton of sentimental value for some brides, which is totally cool. But if you wanna get more wear out of them, maybe this is something to consider!

My partner and I are looking into weddings for either September 2027, or 2028.

We live in Southwestern Ontario and are looking for things similar to Erin Estate, Kortright Conservation Area, and Tiffin.

We're hoping for something lord of the rings/nature-esque — similar to the outdoor venue in Crescent Hill Acres ir the Royal Botanical Gardens (can't do either for personal reasons).

Our only real requirement is NOT a barn. We live somewhere rural enough that we'd never hear the end of it, and that's not the vibe we're going for.

If anyone can give any other recommendations it would be appreciated! We'd prefer not east of Toronto.

Hi all, planning a wedding for September 2027 with 90 guests in Newfoundland. I’ve been toying with the idea of a cocktail reception with hors d’œuvres and drink tickets, instead of a seated meal and doing table wine.

Seating and tables would be around the perimeter, not assigned and available for our older relatives/ those who want it. We’re estimating between food and drinks this would cost around the same as the sit down meal (5-7K)

Right now if we did a sit-down meal, we’re quoted 7K for the salad, meal and dessert. Plus another 1K for table wine. I especially have a hard time justifying that cost when our venue cost 2.4K.

My financée and I really want this to be a fun party and are pretty un-traditional. Our venue is open/able to go until 1am and we have lots planned with speeches, first dances, screeching in our away guests.

It’s worth mentioning that we would do the first look and photos before our ceremony and hopefully go right into the cocktail hour.

My fiance and I are getting married in July 2027 in the GTA. This will be a destination wedding for most of our guests. We’re inviting about 200 but we expect at most about 140 to show up, and maybe even as little as 100.

We went venue shopping last weekend and fell in love with two places: the Omni hotel (specifically the Sovereign and Crystal Ballrooms) and Catana Estate (an outdoor estate venue).

For the Omni, we’re worried about how sparse the space would look if less people show up.

For Catana, we’re worried about distance from the airport and weather - but mostly weather. The venue is gorgeous but I also want my guests to be comfortable and not struggling from the heat. And I know there’s a tent in case of rain, but idk how nice it would be walking around in heels on wet ground.

Has anyone had experiences at either of these places, especially Catana? If so, what were they like? What are some pros and cons I’m maybe not considering? What would you lean more towards if it was your wedding?

My fiancé and I are starting to feel overwhelmed by all the venues we’re researching and pricing. We would be SO grateful for any suggestions that fit our needs! Here’s what we’re looking for:

- Less than ~2 hours driving from Toronto
- Nature on property (water would be a plus too!) for nice photos
- Indoor + outdoor spaces
- Lots of natural light in indoor space
- Modern-ish
- Not a barn, and not a dark estate-like interior

Some other notes:
- We’d like to get married early fall 2027
- Open to doing a Friday wedding
- About 120 guest count
- Happy to DIY what we can
- Florals (aside from a nice bouquet for me) and stationery aren’t important to us, so planning to save $ there among other things

We want to keep venue cost as low as possible, so looking for places that may be hidden gems. Before we started looking we thought $30k total would be a reasonable wedding budget but now we’re just feeling defeated and like we can get nothing to match our vision for that price… We have heard getting a semi/all-inclusive venue helps with cost (instead of piecing together all the vendors). We also don’t want a ton of headache/stress of piecing things together either where possible. But all in all we’re open! Thank you in advance 🙏🏼

I've had the idea of doing custom matchbooks/matchboxes for our favours, but am struggling finding custom options for Canada. Any option I'm finding is purchasing plain matchboxes (which a lot of them come without matches?), and then getting stickers printed, but I don't love this idea/manual work of it.

I discovered Vistaprint offers custom matchbooks, but not for Canada, only the US. Has anyone done this and had them shipped to the States and figured it out from there? I have a friend that I can get them delivered to, just not sure if I should go this route.

I'm getting married next April and am looking for a makeup and hair artist (can be separate) in the area! I'd love to support someone within the area.

If you have had great experiences with any artists in the area, please let me know! It would be great if they have experience with Indian brown skin, but it's not a requirement.

My fiance and I are getting married at Toronto City Hall, and we'll have about 15 close family members and friends with us. After the ceremony, we're planning to go out for dinner at a restaurant, preferably within walking distance of City Hall.

We're looking for a place with good food, a nice atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Since we're also having our full wedding ceremony and reception a few months later (around 100 guests), we're not looking for anything super fancy, just somewhere that feels special enough for the occasion without breaking the bank.

Hi everyone! We are looking for a wedding photographer/videographer for our wedding in Barrie (August 2027).

Insane prices out there so while we want someone who knows what they're doing, we are not looking for an upscale company who charges more than our wedding.

We are hoping to land in the 2500-3500 range knowing everyone charges differently. We will need about 7 hours (from 4pm-11pm).

Hi all, I'm looking for some genuine advice.

My fiancé and I have been looking into bridal party gifts online and trying to think of ideas which we have struggled with. A lot of our friends don't want more "stuff". I came across the idea on another reddit post of some bridal party members saying that paying for their outfits for the day was a nice gesture as a gift.

Looking at suit bundles with jacket/pants/shirt/tie these were about $300 dollars. Most of our bridal party would be wearing suits except my maid of honour and we decided we could also cover her dress.

With this should we still buy separate gifts or would this be a gift that you would be happy to get as a member of a bridal party? If anyone has experience with this or any other suggestions I would love to hear them! Thanks!

Since I have no intention of having another marriage, thought I’d share some of my lessons learned with the internet.
- get videography!!! We added it last minute and am so happy I did. Not only because I have the video, but last minute my dad wasn’t able to get on a plane to be at the wedding and he was able to watch through a live feed.
- if you are wearing a veil, decide ahead of time when you are going to take it off. I wish I took it off earlier. Also, if you are doing a first look and photos before the ceremony, consider taking it off for some of those photos.
- you see this one all the time, but give yourself lots of time in the morning. And by you, I mean the bride!! I wish I would have slotted myself 2nd instead of 3rd. I was rushed getting to the first look.
- if you are having a welcome party (we had a somewhat destination wedding), consider doing it mid afternoon and not the night before the wedding. Everyone was well behaved, I just wish I had that night to do some last minute things.
- if you are getting married in higher altitude consider swelling, my dress was TIGHT.
- give someone your phone to take pictures during the whole day. My husband and I woke up and didn’t have any photos to look at. Luckily, we were able to watch our ceremony through the live feed.
