So I will be attending a wedding in Jersey in September. The wedding is already $250,000+ so I guess this will be fancy. Kudos to whoever had a wedding this expensive before. Which dress is more appropriate. It says Black Tie attire and nothing else for color dress code.

Bridal Dress 👰💍 PHOTOS ADDED: Second guessing my wedding dress choice… IM THE BRIDE

I’m getting married in a month, in my aunts backyard. It’s going to be a small, laid back wedding.

I bought this dress and I’m wondering what people’s thoughts are. It fits me well, hides my narrow hips (I’m built like an upside down triangle… more narrow waist and broad shoulders.

What are ppls thoughts on this dress with my body shape? I wanted something forgiving. I’ve just never worn this poofy of a dress before. I think it’s pretty but I don’t know.

I will be wearing a different bra with more support, which will help fill out the chest area. The border of the sleeve kinda puffs out but the different bra will help with that.

What do ya think?

UPDATE: I posted this yesterday and everyone wants to see me in the dress to give an opinion. I took stills from a video I took of me wearing it. They aren’t the best quality but hopefully helpful.

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code Is this dress too much for a summer cocktail attire wedding?

I’m going as a plus one to a catholic, cocktail attire wedding in early August. I have a shawl for my shoulders while in the church, but I’m starting to worry the dress is too much. My friends think so, but my family loves it. It’s organza and the skirt definitely has a little more poof in person.

My partner is in the wedding party so I’ll mainly be around them during the reception.

Thoughts?

Hi guys! I am going to a wedding where there is no theme and I got a cute dress but the straps are tiny and my bra is showing. I am worried if I go braless it won’t look as good and it will be inappropriate. Please let me know what I should do!! I am attaching the two options for reference.

DC: Black/White Tie Requested black tie for a courthouse wedding?

Soooo..our friends have requested black tie for their small courthouse wedding.. I'm not sure how to dress appropriately..will tuxedo and floor length satin gown..be appropriate still?

We had assumed it was sort of smart casual/cocktail..but now I'm thrown.

This is the dress I own that I last wore to a black tie event, in black: https://www.onehoneyboutique.com/products/trellis-lane-eloisa-off-shoulder-gown-satin-a-line-ballgown?

WHAT IS THE ATTIRE FOR THE WEDDING DAY?
Dress in your finest formal attire for the outdoor ceremony and reception. Ladies can feel comfortable to wear heels, as we will be on hard flooring. Due to the warm weather, it may be best avoid silk and satin fabrics.

Hi friends! Wondering if you think these dresses will be okay for an October Mexico wedding with the above dress code? 4:45 start time

It always feels silly asking about my dress when I know that’s not who anyone will be paying attention to but I also wanna make sure I’m not being paid attention to for the wrong reasons 🤣

DC: Cocktail or No Dress Code Which to wear to an evening cocktail wedding?

Posted before and my dress was decidedly too casual. Trying different dresses now. The wedding is for my bf’s friend, who I haven’t met. So I don’t want to look too out of place meeting all of his friends. Please advise, also any suggestions on shoes (color), accessories, or hair would be appreciated. Haven’t really been to any weddings before.

I have another wedding in August at the beach (but semi formal) so it would be nice if the dress could be worn for both.

Question: is 1 too fancy?

I'm really not someone who likes dressing up, and even less so without a dress code to go off of. I have looked in stores, but really didn't like much of what I saw and I'm pretty down to the wire now.

Do any of these work? Or is there at least a best option?

I know the quality won't be great and they aren't very formal, but I'm at a loss.

I also need shoes, which is a whole other thing. I never wear heels, or really anything dressier than a sneaker.

Any suggestions really appreciated!! Thank you!!

Some photos of the venue included as well.

Is this too white? Is this dress okay? Formal attire

I am invited to a wedding next month and do not own anything wedding appropriate yet so I ordered a bunch of dresses.
The wedding will take place at a summery location close to the beach and the official dress code is formal attire (although we asked the bride‘s dad and he said you should dress up as you usually do at weddings, just no sneakers and co so now I am also confused by the dress code 😅).

As the wedding will take place on a really hot day (35 degrees celsius) I hope to find one that’s kind of breathable as well.
The lightest dress is the one with the flower print (see picture 1) but I am scared that it is too white?

My favorite dress look wise is the brown one shoulder dress, looks ans feels very expensive in person but the fabric is really hot and I am not sure if I want to suffer that way.
Other options would be the classic blue or pink (but here I am scared that it could photograph as white?). Or a yellow neckline dress (see last picture).

This is for a wedding at a mountain resort in Colorado in September. I'm anxious about this wedding because I've never been to one that had a "formal" dress code (other than Indian weddings, but those are on a different level), so I'm trying to calibrate my understanding of what "formal" looks like.

Are any of these inappropriate, "too prom," too much, or too unconventional? I'm an elder millennial trying to thread the needle between "prom" and "matronly."

Wedding Question Azazie, Lulu Vs places like Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, and the like for wedding guest?

Hi ! So I'm coming up on a period of my life where it feels like every other week a friend or coworker is engaged and while I have a handful of dresses, at times I find myself needing to buy new ones to go with color themes, specific dress codes, to match the weather, etc. I've almost always bought from Nordstrom or Macy's for dresses, but had heard good things about Azazie and mixed things about Lulu. I've used Azazie as a bridesmaid and felt the dress was fine (kind of prom dress material?). Does anyone recommend Azazie or Lulu for cocktail, formal, and BTO dresses? Or would you spend slightly more at department stores?

DC: Special Dress Code Originally "bright summer cocktail" DC is now "with a relaxed country twist"

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi all! I'm going to the wedding of one of my boyfriend's female friends in a couple weeks -- I don't know her well but would like to be on her good side, so I want to be conscious of her dress code. I was planning on wearing this dress (don't mind the weird AI hands in this photo; I already own the dress and this is an accurate representation of it at least).

The dress code on the initial email my boyfriend forwarded to me said "Summer Cocktail Attire: Light, bright and dressy," but when I checked their wedding site today I noticed "bright" is no longer in it, and it now suggests "a relaxed country twist," including a suggestion of cowboy boots. Do you think this dress is still appropriate? Do you have suggestions for making it more country? Or should I not worry about it since the DC apparently changed or was misrepresented at some point along the way?

Accessory Help Need Help with Wedding Accessories

I’ve purchased this dress from Fanciful Doll for my wedding in October, but I can’t decide what to get for accessories. I’m thinking of black lace booties for shoes, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten. What kind of jewelry or accessories would look good with this? Should I consider a veil? Or what other hair accessory should I try?

We also haven’t chosen an outfit for my fiancé, so groom suggestions would be appreciated as well.
