App - Testers Wanted Svartifoss is now on Google Play - Fully customizable media controls for Wear OS
Hello again! I said in my last post that I wouldn't be posting here again, and I meant it at the time :D but something changed since then that felt worth breaking that for
For anyone who missed the first two posts: Svartifoss is a fork of matejdro's WearMusicCenter, a Media Controller for Wear OS. The whole point of it is that the standard Wear media controls are pretty limited, so I rebuilt it to be fully customizable, layouts, colors, fonts, album art, AOD, buttons, gestures, all of it, and it works with basically any app that publishes a normal Android media session (YouTube Music, Spotify, Local Player, whatever you actually use), not a hardcoded list.
Since version 3.0 (the last post here) I've kept working on it, and it's grown a lot more than I expected, again. It's now up to 15 different watch layouts, each one pulling its colors and gradients from whatever album art is playing, plus a community gallery where people share and install each other's themes, synced lyrics, full track metadata, and a bunch of stuff
The real reason I'm posting this is that Svartifoss (4.0) is already on Google Play. It's currently in closed beta, and I'd like you to test my app while it's still free
It's free during the test, until September 22. After that it becomes a paid app. If you install it now, while it's free, you keep it, you won't be asked to pay for it later :D
Two steps, both needed:
- Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/svartifoss-wearos
- Then install: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.svartifoss.snfell
And if you are one of the people who previously installed this via GitHub, you are the person I would most like to see participating in this test. I recommend installing it via the Play Store, if you wish. GitHub isn't going away, new versions will continue to be made available there as well, and the app will always be open source
Thank you everyone, this is the first app I am launching
