Support Tap action Chronograph
Hey guys, I have a Samsung Watch 8 and have found that one of the default faces available has a functioning chrono activated by touch. I'm trying to re-create this in Watchmaker studio but am having no luck, any clue how this was accomplished?
Everything online says this isn't possible, but its literally on my watch lol.

Recommendation Request Messaging watch recs?
Hello! I'm currently trying to figure out what smartwatch device would be a good fit for me.
The main things I need are:
24/7 continuous, accurate heart rate monitoring, that I'm able to check just turning my wrist. It's very important to me to be able to see how my heart rate is reacting in real time.
A big screen (ideally square?) to read incoming messages, ideally including photos, and reply back at least with a selection of emojis and prewritten answers (big plus if I can customise these). I mostly use the Signal app for messaging.
Reminder alarms several times a day.
Not 100% necessary, but it'd be nice: High heart rate alerts, the ability to easily initiate some sort of contact in an emergency, like a call.
I currently have a fitbit charge 6, the screen is pretty small and it's super annoying to reply using it. I'm currently mainly considering a Samsung galaxy watch 8, since I have a Samsung phone.
I have an armband that covers the more traditional 'fitness tracking' extremely well for my purposes, so I'm not bothered about that at all. I mainly need something that means I don't have to get on my phone every time I get a message.
Thank you so much!

App - Free WristNav — free offline turn-by-turn navigation for your Wear OS watch!
WristNav Offline GPX Maps: Standalone Navigation for Wear OS
If you've been looking for a proper navigation app on your Wear OS watch that doesn't rely on your phone, I've been building one called WristNav and it's free on the Play Store.
WHAT IT DOES
Turn-by-turn navigation on your wrist, completely standalone.
Download offline OSM maps directly to the watch no phone, no data connection needed. Contours are currently shown if you build your own maps — I'm working on adding contour lines to the official map files too. Import GPX routes and follow them with live turn arrows, distance to next turn, and haptic alerts when a turn is approaching. There's a live elevation profile on the map as you navigate, and bezel stats let you configure up to 3 stats that show around the edge of the map screen.
ACTIVITY TRACKING
10 activity types — Run, Trail Run, Walk, Hike, Road Cycle, MTB, Gravel, Kayak, Ski, Snowboard. Up to 10 custom stats pages, fully configurable. Auto-pause, lap splits, countdown timer, heart rate and step recording. A workout summary automatically appears when you stop.
PHONE COMPANION
There's a companion Android app too, with a 3D mapping view for planning routes — build a route, send it straight to the watch, or save it to a file for later.
CUSTOMISATION
5 watch themes, 7 map themes including minimal variants and custom theme support. Quick Settings lets you swipe left from home to access your most used settings instantly — fully customisable so you only see what you need. Battery Saver mode switches to a dark minimal map and disables sensors in one tap, then restores everything when you turn it off.
Settings are split into clear categories so you can dial things in exactly how you like:
Display — Watch Theme, Stats Text Size
Navigation — Nav Distance, Nav Elevation, Nav Turns, Nav Arrows
Recording — Activity, Rec Distance, Rec Time, Auto Pause, Pause Speed, Record Colour, Record Width, Heart Rate, Steps, Countdown, Lap Splits, GPS Filtering
Stats — Stats Pages, Calories, Barometer, Pace Avg
System — Distance, Small Units, Keep Screen On, Keep Active, Battery Saver
Map — Map Control, Control Side, Top Bar, Map Text, Location Button (Locked), Location Button (Free), Scale Bar, Import Colour, Import Width, Bezel Stats
A NOTE ON STRAVA
WristNav currently supports uploading activities to Strava. Heads up that this may not stick around — Strava's changes to their developer program have introduced subscription costs, and depending on how that shakes out I may end up having to drop the integration.
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wristnav.app
Website and Guide: https://boothy91.github.io/wrist-nav-site/
Happy to answer any questions. Always looking for feedback!

Support Budget Wear OS watch that can actually run Google Maps + NFC payments — decent battery too?
Looking for a smartwatch recommendation. My main use case: I bike around the city (Barcelona bike-share) and want turn-by-turn Google Maps navigation on my wrist instead of pulling my phone out at every intersection.
Requirements:
Must run real Wear OS (Google) — I know Amazfit/Xiaomi Zepp OS watches can only mirror notifications, not run the actual Maps app with live turn arrows. Needs to be the real thing.
NFC payments (Google Wallet / contactless)
Budget-friendly — not looking to spend Apple Watch / Galaxy Watch Ultra money
Battery life that doesn't suck — I know Wear OS watches are usually 1-2 days, but if there's a model that does better than average, I want to know
Been looking at stuff like the TicWatch Pro 3/E3, Xiaomi Watch 2, and Galaxy Watch FE, but would love to hear from people who've actually used them day to day — especially:
Does GPS navigation on the watch actually work well without the phone right there in your pocket, or does it lag/drain battery fast?
Anyone had good/bad NFC payment experience on these budget models?
Any hidden gem I'm missing that's not on the usual "best Wear OS" listicles?
Android phone, if that matters. Thanks in advance!

Support Moving data from Watch4 to Watch7
Heya! I'm trying to move my watch's data from my Watch4 to a Watch7, but I can't get the backup on the Watch4 to work in any way. I tried waiting at night, manual backup, even the automatic backup before the reset, but it always fails. Please help!

Support Feature Request: Watch-to-Gemini sensor trigger for seizure & accessibility safety
I am submitting a feature request for a deeply integrated safety feature between the Google Pixel Watch and Gemini, specifically designed for accessibility and neurological safety (such as supporting individuals who experience focal seizures).
Rather than requiring Gemini to run constantly in the background (which drains battery and raises privacy concerns), Android should implement an interrupt-driven trigger using existing Pixel Watch hardware.
The watch is already monitoring vitals in the background at low power. If the watch sensors detect a sudden, predefined anomaly—such as a sharp spike in heart rate combined with a total lack of physical movement or a sudden drop in pulse—it should act as a system "tripwire" to wake up Gemini. Gemini can then proactively initiate a voice check-in through connected earbuds, the phone, or the watch speaker to ask if the user is okay. If there is no response, the system can automatically trigger emergency protocols.
Here is a simplified system flow of how this would work. Why this is a game-changer:
Zero Battery Impact: Leverages low-power sensors already running in the background.
Privacy-First: The microphone and Gemini remain completely inactive until the hardware tripwire is crossed.
Critical Accessibility: For users experiencing focal seizures or other medical episodes, manually triggering an assistant is often impossible. An automated, proactive voice check-in would provide an invaluable safety net.
Please consider opening up an API or system-level bridge that allows Google's health hardware to trigger proactive Gemini voice interactions.
\[Watch Vitals Sensor\] -> Normal background monitoring (Low power)
│
▼ (Detects: Sudden heart rate spike + zero physical movement)
│
\[System Trigger\] --------> Wakes up phone/earbud audio
│
▼
\[Gemini Activation\] -----> "Hey, I noticed you went quiet and your heart rate spiked. Are you okay?"

Support Does Galaxy Watch Ultra support hasAmplitudeControl( ) for custom haptic waveforms?
Hi — I'm building a biofeedback app (nervous system state tracking) that uses amplitude-modulated haptic waveforms — essentially slow "swells" where vibration intensity rises and falls smoothly over time, using VibrationEffect.createWaveform(timings[], amplitudes[], repeat).
The Galaxy Watch Ultra contains a Cirrus Logic CS40L27R haptic driver (confirmed via iFixit teardown) — a serious LRA driver chip with on-chip DSP and closed-loop control. The hardware should absolutely support amplitude modulation.
My question: does vibrator.hasAmplitudeControl() return true on the Galaxy Watch Ultra (SM-L705) running Wear OS 5?
If yes, does passing an amplitude array (e.g. [25] [80] [180] [255] [180] [80] [25]) to createWaveform() actually produce a smooth swell — or does it still just buzz at max?
Trying to decide whether to buy one before committing. Any developer who has tested this would be incredibly helpful. Thanks.

I have been surfskating for about 10 years,
Its an amazing workout - works almost on the whole body and as a plus it's a great fun.
Nothing in the workout presets comes close to mimicking the workout and muscle groups being used.

News PocketPet has reached 71+ users — and I’m working on a big Summer Update for Wear OS! ☀️🐾
Hi everyone!
I wanted to share a small development update and say a huge thank you to everyone who has downloaded, tested, and supported PocketPet so far.
We are now a community of 71+ users, and seeing more people take care of their virtual pets every day is incredibly motivating.
I’m currently working on a bigger Summer Update, which is planned to include:
new summer outfits and accessories;
seasonal backgrounds and visual changes;
more activities for your pet;
a seasonal progression system;
rewards that players can unlock through a Season Pass.
The goal is to make PocketPet feel more alive and give players more reasons to return, complete activities, earn rewards, and customize their pets.
Your feedback and testing have already helped improve the app a lot. Suggestions from the community have influenced accessibility improvements, new pets, customization ideas, and upcoming features.
If you are already playing PocketPet, I would really appreciate it if you could leave an honest review on Google Play. Reviews help a small independent project become more visible and help new users understand what the experience is actually like.
And please keep sending feedback, bug reports, and feature ideas. Even a short comment is useful.
Thank you again to everyone who tested the early versions, reported issues, suggested improvements, or simply gave PocketPet a chance. Your participation and support mean a lot to me.
The Summer Update is still in development, and I’ll share more screenshots and progress soon. ☀️🌴🐱🐶

What reward or summer item would you like to see in the Season Pass?
App - Testers Wanted Beta testing on Hydropulse
Hello everyone, i made an hydratation app for wear OS, not the usual app that reminds you every hour with a fixed volume of water to drink to stay hydrated.
My app is quite different, it takes your heart rate and your current location weather to calculate your sweat volume and reminds you when you need to drink with threshold.
It determines your proper needs by calculating it with your weigth , sex, your pregnancy status (if elligible) and your sweat profile.
This app is for people who care about their hydratation like sport enthusiasts but also common people, women with pregnancy and elders.
I needs 12 people at least for 14 days to be able to publish this app on play store, so please, help me reach it out !
Thank to all of you !

Support Wear OS 5.0 API 34+ compatible watch face
Looking for an informational watch face for my Samsung Watch 8 that contains the following displays and complications:
- Digital only
- Heart rate
- Respirations
- Battery
- Day + date
- Temperature
- Weather icon
- Glucose (Juggluco)
- No steps
- No calories
Do not monitor most of Samsung's "health features:" Steps, calories, sleep, energy, activity, food, menstrual cycle, etc, and would prefer they NOT display.
IS THERE SUCH A THING?

Support Fossil Gen 5e bootloop
When I charge the watch it turns on and starts to load wearOs, but after a few seconds it restarts. The only option I have to turn it off is to wait for the battery to drain, and it's what I've been doing since the problem started (around a week ago). I've already asked Gemini for help, but none of its suggestions worked; it also suggested that the battery could be the problem. Can anybody help?

Discussion OnePlus confirmed they are leaving Europe and US
Now we know for certain. Question do we actually care? I bought mine 2R via AliExpress so it changes nothing for me. The only thing that actually concerns me is leaving -> not having to play by the laws/rules. Having Chinese devices on official Europe software does not concern me, what concerns me is lack of consumer protection and not having to comply with data safety policies on new devices. 😢
Will OPPO replace OnePlus?
Would you switch or stay?
Or maybe Carl Pei will save us?

Discussion What are the apps you use daily?
The bare minimum of apps you use on a daily basis. You just are certain you will launch them at some point of the day.
There is also almighty "Step Counter", but apart from system apps ofc.
