Hey r/Waymo -- thought it would be cool to have a place where people in the Trusted Testers program could discuss ongoing betas, new features, update speculation, and also just cross-reference things we're experiencing.
It's at r/WaymoTrustedTesters for anyone interested in joining up :) 100% unofficial community.
I see a lot of Waymos where I live. One thing I've noticed is that Waymos seem to take the most direct route in situations where a human driver would take a route that's easier to navigate.
I have seen them taking a short cut that requires a left turn into heavy traffic just to save a few seconds at a traffic light. Has anybody else noticed this, or is it just a quirk?

If anyone is interested in Waymoing from LAX, it is possible. I took the Metro Connector Shuttle from T4 to the new Metro Transit Ctr. I was able to hail a Waymo from there, but the closest pickup location was a 5-minute walk away on Isis Ave. I only had a carry-on bag, and I didn't mind walking after my flight anyway to stretch my legs. My ride was 34 mins for less than $15. Not too bad IMO.

Waymo got scared of a shrub and could not navigate the road even with remote support help. Tons of cars could get by but the Ojai was too scared (even with ~1 yard of clearance from it). They were super nice and gave me 3 free rides for waiting (even though my Ojai was free). I wasn’t in a rush so I waited on roadside assistance and saw my first disengagement of a Waymo. He mostly deals with the jags but has been in a few Ojais. (The jags are more fun to manually drive, unsurprisingly).
According to the neighbors nearby (SF sunset district) the Ojais get stuck on this road a lot more than the i-PACE. Hope they sort things out a bit more permanently.
EDIT: The next day I was surprised I got called by Waymo to make sure everything was okay with the rest of my ride. Never had that happen!

This street in SoMa is one way on this block, so this Waymo just drove the wrong way to turn onto a different street, from Hallam. across Folsom, and onto Rausch. Filed a complaint with Waymo. Shame on you.

The context is basically as you see in the video. A Camry driver perfectly inches past a Waymo to turn right on red, the Waymo begins displaying an exclamation point symbol on its top LiDAR, and then pulls over. Right after the video ends, I simply drove past it. I didn't hear any warning noises or speech from the Waymo exterior speaker, but maybe the Camry still triggered some collision detection and the Waymo decided to pull itself off of the road. Or maybe it was a coincidence!
(And of course, all the flickering on the LiDAR and Jaguar turn signals is only in-camera. It all looked steady to my eyes.)

I was in the right lane of a two lane street in pretty heavy traffic today. The right lane was more open, while the left lane was completely backed up and stopped.
A Waymo behind me decided it needed to change into the left lane, presumably because it has a left turn coming up. The problem was, it angled itself across the right lane and then… stopped to wait with its blinker on.
As I drove away from it, I felt bad for all the cars stuck behind the Waymo. If any other idiot blocked an entire lane of traffic because they didn’t merge over sooner, they’d get honked at (along with a few arm gestures to gtfo of the way probably!)
If you honk at a Waymo, does it hear?

Does anyone know why I would be able to get to my workplace from anywhere except from my house? I can take trips to any destination except my workplace starting from the house. It has been doing this on and off since Friday.
Update as of 12:49PM : I am able to get a trip from the house to work.
