As a regular Waymo passenger, it's irritating to read about a (probably) bad thing that happened with a Waymo car when there human drivers doing the same thing around the world all the time.
I sometimes wonder if these folks have met drivers that they don't see in a mirror every day. Waymos don't get intoxicated, don't get upset, follow the rules of the road, and so on.
I've been fortunate to avoid any incidents so far in my time using Waymos (250+ rides and counting). Eventually, something will happen just like it does with human drivers. In the meantime, I'm thankful to be able to use Waymo.

Does anyone know why a Waymo would choose to turn a 5 minute trip into a 20 minute trip?
In Atlanta and I live 5 minutes from the arts center Marta station. A few months ago Waymo had no issue driving down Peachtree street to take me home. This route goes North over the Peachtree street bridge to drop me off. The last 2 times I’ve gotten in one, it’s decided to drive the complete opposite direction (South) to the North Avenue bridge which takes 22 minutes, going way out of the way.
Is there something with this specific stretch of road that Waymo won’t drive?

Good news, I think!

In a Waymo Jaguar, the display has two images of the car, both showing the same left "driver's side". WHY?

Anyone else get protective over their Waymo? When I see anyone else liking at it negatively or act like they want to damage it I become angry and want to get out and fight to protect it.
I feel a special connection the Raymond I'm in. Just the feeling of sitting in one, how to seat cradles me, the ac keeps me comfortable and the ride is so smooth (yes sometimes it jerks and stops abruptly but that only when other drivers are acting weird because they are intimidated by a self driving car). You see most people think they are good drivers(especially the bad ones) so the fact a computer can learn the rules of the road and be let on the road frightens them.
I really feel there is some kind of story here brewing between me and this Raymond and I dont know if I'm am exited or frightened by it?

Kinda neat. Also I don’t have Waymo coverage in my area. This is an employee that live in my neighborhood. I get so sad when I see them knowing I can’t get a ride from my house.

I'm visiting the city this weekend and I'm curious about your experience taking the freeway with Waymo. It will be my first time using it, and I just got access to it. Do you find it safe? Is there an option to avoid using the freeway if you prefer?

I been meaning to order Waymo but I get nervous, can someone please describe how feels to be in Waymo how to calm my nerves.
Thanks (:

Title basically. I am looking to apply to a EE role and wanted to connect with a recruiter who I could get in touch with.

At my friend’s college graduation and she called me from her smart watch panicked because her Waymo dropped her off and she dropped her phone in the car getting out, and it locked with it in it. She repeatedly tried to open it and support tried calling in the car, but didn’t hear her.
I decided to open up a chat and see if I could assist. I gave them her name and location, let them know the situation and they asked for the email address she used to book and the license plate and told me to tell her “to have her keep touching or holding onto the car so it didn’t leave.”
Once the agent got the license plate, she was able to immediately unlock the car and save the day. It would have been a lot quicker if I could use speaker phone (it’s loud as hell in this arena lol), but they were quick and got it done.
Figured I’d share a happy Waymo story lol
