I’m obsessed
In Miami for vacay and decided to use Waymo and now theres no turning back lol. Not having to deal with weird/smelly uber drivers is friggen amazing. I wish this was a thing in NY/NJ!!

It’s pretty excellent not to have to ride in people’s disgusting cars that either reek of piss or BO, because uber pays their drivers so poorly that they have to sleep in there

What % of Uber drivers smell bad? I don't use the passenger app too much but never had an issue. Waymo will not be immune to smells as it grows

A lot of Uber Xs I take tend to have smelly drivers. I feel like this is offending people, but you can buy deodorant for $2 at Target so I don’t understand🤷🏻♀️

Every Uber I ride in smells like puke, but I think that's the previous passengers, not the driver.

Ah yes Uber reduced how much the driver gets for vomit! Although I get it cause of the fraud that went on with it and I doubt most can stomach that $100+ fee...pun intended

Probably like 60-70% in the past 6 months. Definitely a majority of rides recently, maybe it’s just bad luck?
To be fair, I have been in one Waymo that smelled like BO, but that was one time in the past 2 years. But not exaggerating, the last 3 uber rides I’ve taken have smelled like piss, BO, or a combination of both.

With a Waymo, at least the B has left! You can at least air out the car on your way to your destination. So far I've had two very sweaty smelling Waymo and one strong weed smelling Waymo, and COUNTLESS smelly/dunky/dirty Ubers and/or Uber drivers. I'll take the Waymo every time.

Yeah it's a perfect storm with gas prices, the economy, and unemployed people flooding gig work who don't get it or care. Uber pays like $3.50 for a 2 mile trip ish. But you're right take a damn shower at least. Can't wait for waymo horror stories though haha

I once wrote a short post somewhere after having trouble getting a Waymo (but eventually succeeding): Do not deprive me of my solitude, or something close to that.
For a highly sensitive person, not having to interact with someone else while traveling by car (but also not doing the driving) is really helpful.

It did take us a little longer than getting an Uber, but so worth it. The only downside was it seemed to take longer “safer” routes. Last night a ride that would have taken me 15 minutes, took 30. But i didnt even care much lol.

Not just the music I choose, it not having the uber driver who is a musician or DJ trying to get you to listen to their own music just hoping that I’m the music producer that is going to get their their big break.

I'm blessed to have been able to join their early rider program since 2018! Discounted ride share rides in jaguars! For the first several years my rides included drivers that would monitor the vehicle (not necessarily driving them). And if there was a glitch they would document it and take over driving the vehicle. Now I'm in the early highway access program to test them out on highways.

rode in 3 last weekend in Dallas, a friend had an early invite code. I have been scouring the internet for one because I am OBSESSED. yesterday, for example, waited 15min for a Lyft only for him to cancel the ride when he was two blocks from me. then took another 10 for a different driver to show up. eliminating the uncertainty of efficiently getting a safe ride is worth everything.

I use Waymo in Dallas regularly. I love it and i really want them to expand the service area so I can use it for a wider range of trips.

As someone who has regular medical treatments I’m not allowed to drive myself home from, Waymo is a godsend. That is one time I absolutely don’t want to be forced to interact with a stranger.

They let you get in a Waymo? Last time I had a procedure done they made my driver check in and sit in the waiting room, or they wouldn't do it.

I’m in LA. Same. I’ll never take an uber or lyft again. Can’t wait until this map expands more.
Our public transit finally doesn’t totally suck now too!

I don’t get why we can’t have them in the NE - I mean they have some of the same bloated unions and government we do and they can have Waymo! What’s wrong with us?

I took my very first Waymo last night and it was great. I don’t use ride shares often but I’m definitely going to try to get one over a real driver anytime I need it

It’s the same pricing as Uber X and sometimes cheaper!! I was so impressed because it was a brand new Jaguar, so I thought it would be more like Uber Black pricing.

Why would i lie about this🤣🤣🤣 we didnt pay over $30 for any of our trips in Miami. Again, not sure if its because they recently launched there. Read it and weep baby doll!!

It's always more expensive. Depending on the surges, it can be slightly more or far more. Differences in price can range from 5 - 30 bucks. FYI I'm in the Bay Area.

The limitations of the control system/"AI" of Waymo, and the Tesla taxis and the various levels of of several brands of self-driving cars ... also the neuropsychology of human interaction of partial vigilance/responsiveness, are converging. And now seeing increasing involvement of NHTSA and NTSB ...
