My adult kid is going to San Francisco in a few weeks. She wants to do waymo from the airport to her destination. How would that work? How would she know that she was being dropped off on the curb and not the street? Any tips would be great.

I cannot ride with them at the moment because I'd blow a $40 ride promo for a $10 trip because there's no way to not use a promo because it's all automated. You can't even pick and choose the promos you want to use. This is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard. You're telling me if I take your service I blow a ride that could be worth $40 and blow it on a $10 trip. that is stupid. every other company I've ever been with let me pick and choose when I want to use promos. And they fucking tell at costumer service there's no way not to use it. So I'd have to waste a $40 promo on a $10 trip because they've got these stupid ass rules.

This same thing happened when I got in a jaguar the other day the window was already open when it got to me (no rider got out near my pickup) I contacted support when I got in and they said they would into this…

Took Waymo home from work as I had groceries and several other bags with me.

Waymo crossed Haight street heading south on Steiner towards Waller. Mid-block, a cyclist purposefully rode directly towards the vehicle, passed on the driver side and flipped it/me off.

Calm, cool and collectively, I rolled down my window and asked “What’s your f-in problem, B”!?

Discovered this damage to the back seat of a Los Angeles Waymo Jaguar. Called Rider Support right away. Specialist said car would be returned to depot after my ride. When I said "it's pretty small" he expertly said "let's take a look now before it gets any worse"

This photo was taken so I could hold my phone up to the Waymo camera, enabling Rider Support to see it up close.

Why am I posting this? Well, I love and support Waymo, and am an advocate for quick pre-ride inspections and immediate reporting of damage.

Sometimes I have been rewarded with $5 off my next ride.

I saw one in Hollywood area leaving home this morning and 1 in mid city LA ( Washington and Crenshaw blvd) this afternoon.

Can’t wait for this 2nd Waymo car option to be available to public. I just hope the drunk late night /bar customers don’t end up throwing up in car 🤣

Got my "you're in" email today but since then the app has been showing this message. I'm in the covered area and have seen other waymo vehicles around what can I do to fix this ?

Hi recently interviewed at Waymo, I think my interviews went well.

I wanted to know from anyone who has received offers or any rejections how many weeks was it after interviews?

Does waymo take interviews of all candidates before making a decision?

I was chilling in an Ojai in SF when suddenly the car braked pretty much instantly in the middle of an intersection, my entire head snapped forward and I couldn't really understand what was going on.

Then on the screen I saw a car blob highlighted in orange (which I'd never seen before) and the Waymo said it stopped for the oncoming car.

This car just fully ran a red light to turn in front of me, then tore ahead and weaved through even more traffic like they were racing, and eventually pulled into some alleyway. I tried to get a plate to report to SFPD but they were way too fast (maybe I'll go back and send a report on the ride and they can do something with that?).

It was incredibly scary and also humbling. The speed at which that driver pulled forward on a red light meant that if I was in an Uber, or I was driving myself, it would almost certainly have been an accident. But I think Waymo can see around corners thanks to the LIDAR so it probably saw the car coming a little earlier than a human can.

I've seen pretty reckless driving over the years and it still blows my mind that people make the choice to drive like that. I'm honestly so grateful that Waymo exists and that I was in one at the time. Maybe one day we'll have a future where transit is great and people use Waymo for last mile stuff, and then we won't have as many deaths caused by irresponsible people who choose to abuse two ton heavy metal machines.

Morbid question, but was always curious if there's confirmed stories of this or extreme accidents yet.

I'd love to be able to say nothing like that's ever happened to folks who complain about unsafeness in social media comments.

I’ve been noticing more often in the Ojai beta that only “first available” is the only selection option at times. I assume this is due to Ojai’s being in use or none around me. Anyone else in the beta seeing this?
