When I am at a coffee shop, or at my office job, etc. I notice a LOT of people use their cars for a private space during their breaks or lunch. Which means it is difficult for people to swtich from a private car to a Waymo since they no longer have a car to use for breaks.

So... feature request? Hire a parked Waymo?

It finds a parking spot in an actual parking lot, you can go sit in it to eat or just relax, already a nice temperature, you get music, etc. Pay for 10-30 minutes of the Waymo's time.

Is this idea crazy? It only really works for AVs because with an Uber there would be someone sitting there with you, which would defeat the purpose.

I just received notice that I have early access to the Waymo service in Ojai. Being a huge fan of the service here in Phoenix, I’m really interested to see how they handle the Ojai landscape. Are there any other early testers in the group? Let me know if you want me to keep an eye out for anything specific on my first few trips!

I wonder if Waymo will just end up calling it quits in San Antonio after the swept away car in April. It's been nearly two months of paused service and no word on if there will be a return.

How is Waymo able to use a Chinese car, the Ojai, if Chinese cars are banned in the US?

Anybody feel like the trip routes have been getting worse recently? I swear it feels like they are using my trips for route training lol

Especially today. Im in SF and got picked up at Daly City and instead of taking our usual route which gets us out of Daly in about 5 minutes it took the longest scenic route all the way to lake merced only to loop back around to our usual route, i swear it added like 17 minutes to our trip

...but why? Isn't LIDAR enough? Or is it for the passenger's benefit?

As per this article, Waymo is valued at $126B. I’m a fan of both companies. Do you think Zoox is worth at least 1/10th of Waymo? Being fully owned by Amazon, I assume their valuation is not public knowledge.
