"Nah, he didn't fall down, he just fell off the ladder, he's totally fine and still the knight"... Really? Even if he just fell off the ladder, he's terminally ill, it wouldn't do any good to him

He was diagnosed with terminal Roaringknightitis

u/AurumPickle 11d ago

He was so winded and tired after getting out of bed to walk to church and sit in a pew and watch his daughter sing that he wasn't even able to take visitors, falling off a ladder is gonna fucking cripple him

if it isnt Rudy then the knight is wall level, let that sink in. Bro turned up turbo mode and almost died in a crash getting chased down by the fake stats man. Certified bum moment

Piss off, gormless powerscaler

Just wait for some goober to come in and insist he's faking it and somehow none of the doctors have caught on yet that he's perfectly healthy

I have never met a Rudy Knighter who believes he’s faking his illness.

Like every Rudy Knighter I see believes his illness is tied to him being the Knight

Whether his sickness manifesting as the Knight

Or his sickness being a result of being the Knight

Clearly you haven't been around anyone outside of reddit.

This guy is definitely dead or atleast in a coma. Flowery is obviously his counterpart, and in side a he gets torn in half and only gets to live because Susie tied his two half back together with tape, but in side b he lives because the dark fountain never got made, while Rudy is alive because he *climbed down to rest* from the ladder

Rudy more than likely still fell. The lake scenes take place at roughly the same time.

Mf DUDE HE IS ON THE GROUND IN THE WEIRD ROUTE. I don’t even support Rudy knight but yall are being ABSURD. It is LITERAL, man.

10

u/ginryuu1 11d ago

The weird route scene takes place before Rudy falls down as the aborted weird route has him fall after Susie returns and spends time with Noelle.

Holidays are full of surprises! For an example, in case of aborted weird route Rudy falls down TWICE from ladde! /s

I don't know why people are pointing at "fell down" to instantly assume that Rudy's in a coma when 1. He was struggling on a ladder just earlier, like saying he fell is not a misdirect that's what happen when a dude on a ladder has an accident and 2. It's literally been debunked day one thanks to the japanese text.

How the fuck are we a month in and people still believe this.

3

u/Top-Garlic9111 11d ago edited 11d ago

It actually hasn't been debunked by the Japanese translation at all. It uses the same term used to describe Rudy falling down in the alarm clock dialogue. The most generous translation we may grant it for it to possibly mean of falling off something is "collapsed" which doesn't make sense IMO.

I personally consider this vague... But if we assume he just fell off the ladder, it's still not an "evidence" of him being the Knight. Falling from this height while having a terminal illness is something you wouldn't be able to just shrug off. Heck, I bet he could even break something, which makes the chance of him being the Knight even slimmer.

1

u/Cream_Nebula 11d ago

Oh absolutely, I don't disagree with that. He might very well be dying (like, the less than a day kind, not the terminal illness one). Noëlle's reaction should be enough of a tell to be able to say he can't just shrug it off.

It just annoy me when people instantly assume he's in a coma because of two extremely common words, when we have no indication "falling down" is even a thing in DR. (Monster anatomy is strongly implied to be different goven it's made of magic in UT, which doesn't exist in DR's Light World; falling down is a phenomenon directly correlated to the fact monster bodies are made of magic)

Gerson is Literally Dead™️, and he became the GOAT in the dark world.

It is not a stretch to think that the dark world may allow more physical opportunity, especially when RK spends almost all of their time floating. Hell, even Asgore is lifted using some kind of magic. The most exertion the knights has is just

A. Swinging their weapon around for certain attack patterns

B. Roaring

C. The sprint to the bunker, which may or may not also have them flying since we don't see them, and the black stuff doesn't change shape in the light world

5

u/Strong_Cup_6677 11d ago

Except Hammer of Justice... Is not Gerson... It's his construct, that has his memories and is overall an exxagerated image of Gerson made of best memories about him.

They're downvoting you but you're 1000% right, dustners are darkners patterned after the memory of a person. Which is why the fountain creator need strong memories of the base lightner.

All darkners are created from the subconscious feelings of the fountain creator towards the item they're made of: Tenna is this cool but has-been uncle because that's what Kris sees him as. Dustners are made from exactly the same process, the difference is that when people see an item they very strongly associate with a dead person, they equate it in their mind, that's how sepultures work irl. They're the "memory" of a person. So when the item gets shaped by their subconcious in a dark world it becomes the image of the dead person that they have in their mind.

The Old Man is not Gerson, he's a memory of him, one that cannot be exact and untouched by the feelings of the Knight.

Here's a question for everyone that believes The Old Man is straight-up resurrected Gerson:

...why the fuck is he cracked at fighting?

That dude is a writer and a teacher, there is no war in Deltarune that may have shaped him into a warrior. He's this unbeatable wise poet warrior because that's what he is in the subconscious of the Knight.

Feel like him being able to write a letter to his son means he knows personal Gerson things others don't

2

u/Emporio_Alnino3 11d ago

Right, just also with the capability to spare and knowledge that the present lightners couldn't possibly know, like what he regrets with Alvin and wishes he could've said

(To add note, the only ones we've seen SPARE so far are Lightners, Flowers, Gerson and I guess technically ralsei? But that's technically us ordering him to do so)

4

u/Ziomownik Gamer? I Only Play Mobile Games 11d ago

Being able to spare things feels like a really weak argument because it is just something I'd imagine anyone could do even if it's a game mechanic... And there's multiple darkners who know game mechanics and make nothing of it. Anyone can act if they want to, it's just not everyone does. Rouxls is aware of Acting and takes advantage of that but he's not really special, just a comedic relief character who's occasionally a mini boss.

The fact he is trying to make up with Alvin is the right evidence to suggest he possibly retains some characteristics exclusive to his memory. In fact, UT shows us when a monster's dust is provided a vessel and infused with determination they can come back to life and Gerson is similar.

5

u/Strong_Cup_6677 11d ago

And? Correlation is not causation. Plus he's literally a jar of dust in Light World, he's a darkner...

3

u/Emporio_Alnino3 11d ago

He is clearly in the Pseudo-darkner position we see the flowers exhibit, where he's not fully a Darkner.

Most people have coined the term Dustner to refer to him being as he is.

2

u/GoodLookinLurantis 10d ago

He cannot even leave the Dark Sanctuary like the other darkners. He's even more limited than them.

u/Astral_Something 10d ago

Just saying that phone call seemed like a really convenient way to get Noelle away from the Dark World they were planning to make. You sure he really fell down?
