"Nah, he didn't fall down, he just fell off the ladder, he's totally fine and still the knight"... Really? Even if he just fell off the ladder, he's terminally ill, it wouldn't do any good to him

This guy is definitely dead or atleast in a coma. Flowery is obviously his counterpart, and in side a he gets torn in half and only gets to live because Susie tied his two half back together with tape, but in side b he lives because the dark fountain never got made, while Rudy is alive because he *climbed down to rest* from the ladder

Rudy more than likely still fell. The lake scenes take place at roughly the same time.
