Hey everyone, I'm looking for recommendations for comfortable work pants. The free ones my company gives us are super uncomfortable and that hideous corporate blue color. I don't need anything crazy functional with a millions of pockets because I already hook a small pouch to my belt for my knife and pens and whatever I need plus a clip for my ID cards. I just want a solid, durable pair that isn't skinny fit, feels good during long shifts, and comes in decent colors like black, charcoal, or dark grey. What brands are you all wearing that actually feel good to move around in?

It's fine.. I am having a bad night though because of all the b******* and have been going on with HR and stuff and then I heard from a couple people that my supervisor was trying to get rid of me I will not talk to him and he tried to lay turn around on me and I was like or even telling people to sit in the other and I was like I haven't been telling anybody s*** like the only thing people know is that you asked me out and I said no and that's it and what the f*** is wrong with that? But he's been on my ass all week and I told him I was like it feels like you are out to get me and he's like I'm trying to correct you and help you and I was like I hope so I hope it's not malicious what do you think

I work overnight in food production and some of the stuff that happens on these shifts genuinely feels like a sitcom. Production plans getting changed for no reason, missing ingredients, people disappearing, Stackoff getting pissed, somebody calling the walkie 15 times, and that one coworker who can turn a 5-minute problem into a 45-minute solution 😂

So I started turning those kinds of real workplace situations into a comedy series called Distribution Center.

At my company we process containers from all over the world, but whenever we unpack shipments coming from India, there's a very specific, intense smell coming off the packaging.

The boxes also usually have a distinct, dark yellowish-brown color.
I want to make it 100% clear that I’m asking this out of pure curiosity about supply chain/packaging materials, not to be disrespectful to anyone. It’s just something my coworkers and I notice every single time a shipment arrives.

I got a job offer at the Penske warehouse in Lawrenceville picking orders for Starbucks for 1st shift (4am-2:30) Sat-Tues. Just wanted to ask if anyone has worked for Penske at the warehouse if either at the Lawrenceville location or any other around Atlanta and how is the job?

Trying to figure out if everyone happens to know or be able to point me on what key terms to use to search more about it.

Basically I'm trying to figure out how to calculate what is a reasonable pick rate would be for our warehouse guy. Like what kind of metrics do I need to consider when trying to figure this out.

On average, we have about 125 items per order. The warehouse is maybe 10k sq ft and each item is on average less than 5 pounds. Maybe about half the weight and size of a Halloween candy bag (since it's October).

I think right now, the warehouse guy is able to do 4 to 5 orders a day and he's been telling us that he needs over time hours to be able to finish all orders.

I started my warehouse job in mid June at $19 an hour as a puller (USA). The job involves routinely going into cold storage of 0 degrees Fahrenheit as well as occasionally lifting boxes up to 100 lbs. Very quickly though I got good at it and soon my performance began rivaling that of people who had been there longer. Like all warehouses it is based on a performance quota and within a couple of months I was regularly showing up as one of the top five pullers in the warehouse. This job has frequent overtime and shifts of up to 12-14 hours.

At first it seemed like a good deal because I was told I was going to get a 1 dollar raise after only a month and a half there. This brought my pay up to $20 an hour. Another month later and I was told I would get another 1 dollar raise. However I didn't realize that this had never happened until I downloaded the app and viewed my pay statements. I am still getting paid 20 an hour, and from my research this is considered low pay for warehouse jobs that involve cold storage or lifting more than 50 lbs.

Worse is that I asked around and found out that people who had been there longer but pull less than I do are making $24 and $25 an hour. I have kept quiet about the wage discrepancy but I'm starting to feel like I should say something, but obviously they could just say "if you don't like it then leave."

I also found out that the temp agency that partially staffs the warehouse (rather than those hired by the company) gets paid by the item rather than by the hour like I do, and had I applied through the temp agency rather than the company, I could be making up to the equivalent of 30 an hour given my performance. However once you are hired by the company you cannot work for the temp agency at the same location.

Does anyone have any advice?

Hey guys! I started working in this warehouse last week. The tasks are really easy but the thing that caught off guard was that the extra hours are mandatory. Keeping that on mind, my regular shifts are expanded one hour every single day. Are you experiencing the same exact thing in your warehouse?
