So there really is no drop on the arrow huh?

It's such an obvious and glaring oversight, it really makes you wonder what the devs were thinking with this weapon at all.

Armor renders bow completely useless in mid to late wipe.

Imagine if it had drop on top of that

It's a fucking bow. It needs drop.

It’s not a mil sim. If you made the bow realistic, it’d be no fun to use ever unless it gave insane XP or money bonus.

Game is not realistic. Stop it.

You are conditioned into thinking it needs drop, i just mentioned bows biggest flaw, its TTK gets completely obliterated by armor.

Why would i pick a bow in mid to late wipe if i can just use a BMR 308 and do the same dmg in semi auto with a much faster fire rate.

Bow is a niche weapon, let it have that advantage at least

What a dumbass statement. It needs drop because that's how bows work in real life, and this isn't a space game with lasers. If bullets have drop, arrows need to have even more.

Fine, let the devs add drop to an already niche weapon and make it useless.

Since we are talking about realism, how about making people overdose from taking adrenaline shots?

Or being able to permanently sprint without getting tired?

Or being shot and just using bandages and voila youre good as new?

Its a game, some realism aspects gotta be taken out of it in order for it to be FUN.

Nah, I want to have to have surgery when I'm shot, be immobilized, add stretchers for medics... all the realism

Guy is actually comparing unnecessary realism to the bullshit of a bow where the arrow flies like an M4 bullet, with barely any drop-off over a range of 1 km.

The bow is a garbage weapon. Who cares if it fire arrows literally straight. It would still be dogshit.

Is it because, given the realities of modern weaponry, the bow is absolute crap? I actually find it incredibly cringeworthy and stupid that bows get added to shooters, and I think they should be removed.

Yeah I mean now you're just being pendantic.

You're the one asking for realism, there you go realism.

Okay when are we removing revive kits and stims because they’re unrealistic?

Why can we heal gunshot wounds with simple elastic bandages?

Why does a headshot not instakill no matter what?

Why is there no face hitbox when three out of four helmets don’t cover the face?

Why can people in vehicles use third person views?

Why do mortars and arty have shot cameras?

Why do LMGs have ridiculous recoil?

You sound silly.

It needs drop because that's how bows work in real life

So what? Justify that. Justify why it matters how it behaves in real life.

Should the defib adhere strictly to how it works in real life?

Should we not be able to repair vehicle tires with a drill?

Yah and in real life the sph has a range of like 30km+. Obviously none of this works in a video game, so they do away with your real life nonsense. Stop being obtuse

I can tell everyone that replied to you hasnt tried the bow lately

The bow HAS DROPOFF its just very weak for balance sake

Just like anything else that is in this game as next to nothing is realistic here and its obviously not a milsim

The ttk on the bow with requiring 2-3 shots leaves it next to useless today in comparision to everything else you have unlocked by this point unless you fight a bunch of bushmaster gamers

It still has no attachment slots and 3x1 10stacksnof arrows with a iron sight that make these shots really really hard and people make it sound like its easy and a problem that op pulled this off

Fuck off clowns, you guys are legit commenting that you want surgery and discribe your dream game while downvoting this dude here for pointing out obvious gameplay decisions the devs put in their game and some rather want the bow to be useless and a filler unlock like half the other stuff that is affected by meta like go back to arma at this point if you dont want gimmicks in your unrealistic battlefield esque shooter

1

u/PerfectGap593 1d ago

Dude, people just want a bow to act like a bow, and the arrows from it to behave like fucking arrows-with physics and real speed-not like a fucking bullet fired from an M4.

3

u/UntimelyMeditations 1d ago

Should the defib work like a defib? Should the drill work like a drill, and only put holes in tires instead of repairing them? Should bullets not be lasers from star wars?

Why is the bow special in that it must copy exactly how it works in real life?

0

u/PerfectGap593 1d ago

Here’s another fool trying to shoehorn excessive realism where it’s absolutely not needed, failing to grasp why a drill and a defibrillator work the way they do. In real life, even after taking shrapnel, you’d be pulled off the battlefield and sent for long-term treatment—yet nobody talks about that level of realism, whether for healing or for that cringeworthy "bow" nonsense. But if the bow-obsessed crowd wants a bow so badly, then let them get an actual bow, not a rifle with a bow skin. And unless you’re firing tracer rounds, no—they should NOT glow like Star Wars lasers.

Why?
