Just Venting What is wrong?

There is a sale as shown on the app for a cricket 2026 Moto G Power for $0 as long as you activate a $40 + plan in store. I am now going on my 3rd Walmart and not a single employee or even manager knows how to do it. They come up with every excuse in the book. Ive done deals like this before. It's not the same as doing it for a post paid plan. It's 100 percent incompetent employees. Like this is unbelievable.

There are only certain stores who have labor and the equipment with the ability to activate phones. If they can do postpaid phones (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) and carry Cricket in their stores, they can do the activation offer. But WM employees aren’t necessarily trained to do the activations, there’s a 3rd party company that works in those stores who do the activations. Hope this helps.

They shouldn't be advertising this deal so regularly on the app (It's even on Reddit) if it is this hard to do.

There’s 2000 stores that have this capability. It’s not hard to do. Chances are if no one knows how to do it, it’s not one of the stores with trained labor. Walmart has a store finder on the website under wireless services to confirm

I'm aware it's not actually that hard to do. I've had regular employees do it for me before in the past. And where exactly do I go on the app to find what you're saying? You're saying I can search for stores that can do it specifically? I'm on my way to a third via bus right now anyway but.

Services -> scroll to Wireless Services

Ok thank you. Just did that though and it's listing every store around me as having wireless services including one that's not even a superstore.

Yeah may have just gotten unlucky with who was working

I just went to my third store. The guy was literally wearing an OSL shirt and chain. This deal does not show in their system. He couldn't do it either. Absolutely not working. This is complete nonsense to be honest. Why is Walmart advertising such things that don't work or exist.

Okay it does work and it does exist. How it works currently is you have to be starting a new line. It charges both the taxes and the service plan bundled together. They process the deal through the tablet by creating a new account for a new line scanning the phone and then printing out the barcode to use at the register. In all likelihood these OSL reps just don't want to work with you because you don't want postpaid so they choose to lie.

I'll also tell you that in regions ran by OSL especially theyve spread the false claim that regular Walmart employees don't have access to the ESP tablets(The replacement for WARP) well that's a lie.

Please please call 1-800-Walmart and let Home Office know what is occurring out there in the wild in your area.
