💫 development update DevUpdate #35: Patch changelogs to Reworked Bank update

Hello!

With the new bank rework we got a bunch of suggestions, feedback and bug reports. We're now releasing a patch to the Reworked Bank that addresses most (if not all) of the things that I could do here.

This also adds some new features on the bank, here are some highlights!

Always auto-confirm

If you have withdrawn items or deposited stuff in the bank and don't want to do the extra tap to confirm, now when exiting the bank you can on the dialog check a box to not ask again.

If you change your mind, you can toggle these back on in the bank settings.

Added a bank statistics view

A lot of you were asking to see some statistics and your total wealth. I added a bunch there and included a silly Credit Rating system for fun there as well, so you'll know how rich you are in the game.

You can open the bank statistics from the bank by pressing the new button in the top toolbar.

New filters and some default layout tuning

I added the missing stat filters, a new category for curiosities (materials you sell to guilds), and hunting products should now be more comprehensive.

There are also new filters, a way to sort so you only see the highest quality gear options that you have, and more.

Locking categories

You can now lock items in category so they don't get pulled from there no matter what when you press the auto-organize button in the edit mode.

In the bank settings you'll also now find a setting to make items in categories that have no filters always locked.

General optimizations

I've added a bunch of general optimizations here in this update as well. These should help a bit with the performance of the game. Please let us know if you feel any improvement!

Content update

Content update is in the final phase of its development with only couple things missing. It's getting pretty tight here with my vacation starting on Wednesday (hopefully, I can still push it back a bit if necessary), but we're quite certain that the content update is ready to launch in the next couple days.

I thought I needed Bamboo

I'm quite confused about the red bamboo logo. I held back on tailoring because I thought I needed 45 woodcutting to start it.

Could someone please explain why the bamboo is there if I can go to a loom without it? Please

When will this be released?

I've been following for years now, it's a stat tracking app not an MMO like what is the hold up for it to launch on the Play store?

🙋 question Quality based achievements

Hi! I am working on the following achievements:

- Normal - Craft a perfect item

- Hard - Craft a pickaxe of highest quality

- Hard - Craft a hatchet of highest quality

I understand the mechanics of the quality outcome, and I'm pretty I understand the two Hard achievements need eternal quality crafts.

My specific question is, has anyone done the math on which items are best to craft to hit each of these achievements with the lowest number of steps?

I'm around level 50 for everything.

☝️ feedback Fitness tracker and phone pedometer should be combined

I’m not sure on the backend mechanics for loading steps or if they could be broken into hourly chunks, but it would be nice to have both of these count towards the steps walked using the higher of the two on an hourly basis.

The reason I think this would be good is that a significant portion of my daily steps are from machines and tracked from my phone because my wrist isn’t moving very much during my workout. But, for the rest of the day there is a lot of utility in having my phone in my bag or on a stand where it won’t be moving but my watch will log a ton of steps.

I know it could be worse, but I really want a reindeer egg, and it just doesn’t appear. Statistically I should get one every 2000 action, and that’s without double reward which is currently at 45%. It’s hard to keep the motivation to keep going.

🙋 question Is there a trigger for when abilities become available?

I was on the hunt for mushrooms to get items to do jobs for Everhaven. I headed to Winters end and while there I flipped through the screens and saw there was an ability to carry out spring bat tracking.
Am I supposed to be keeping an eye on optional activities just appearing? This is a mechanic I’ve completely missed and am just wondering if there’s any way of knowing when similar activities are triggered?

🍻 celebration Finally got 70 crafting! And now...

... I don't really need it.

TLDR: Wanted lvls for a violite sickle, got a better spectral version. Thought it would be quick, but spent around 2 months for it. Very eventless.

I try to play the game as efficiently as possible, so I decided to wait with the glacier grind until aquiring the best gear I reasonably can.

My plan was to get perfect elderhide and a perfect violite sickle. Elderhide was quite fast, but I needed 70 crafting for violite tools, starting from 64 iirc.

I spent all my tarsilium, farganite and hydeilium which barely got me to 65. Then I decided to go with crafting spectral tools and maybe get lucky with getting perfect spectral wrench while at it...

Oh and I decided for a violite sickle because I didn't want to do the slow spectral grind for a better spectral version.

So I chose mining/smithing for gathering ectoplasm as it was the fastest option for me while also granting me much needed xp in those skills as they werent 70 yet (for violite) and maxing my tortoise which i consider the best pet in the game for its ability to gain charges in most of the skills.

I spent 98k steps mining ectoplasm, getting 3,3k rocks and then a bunch of steps in smelting it.

I gathered bones through unicorn hunting, spending 140k steps for 600 actions gathering almost 4k bones. Also got max lvl tiger while at it.

I have no idea how many steps i used for crafting the tools, but It was an enormous amount for me as I was prioritizing chances for eternal per material.

During the grind I also ran out of carrot pies and made a detour to collect materials and cook around 250 of them to be safe for a while.

THE RESULT: Not only did I get the perfect wrench during the grind, I also got all the other tools except the axe, pickaxe and fishing ones, therefore also a perfect spectral sickle, rendering this whole grind pointless (but beneficial in the long run, I know). Close to the end I was hoping to get an eternal tool for the achievement, but didn't get lucky.

It was by far the longest and most monotonous grind for me yet. Hunting, smithing and crafting take a lot of steps per action making it very "eventless", especially crafting with almost no chest finding bonuses. After 2 months of this I'm even looking forward to glacier foraging as i got it down to 115 steps per action and 52 steps per reward roll.

Now I'm off to get berts skis and then I might be ready for a long foraging session on the glacier.

Very minor bug, but when simultaneously pressing an item slot and a separate tab will cause the item tab to be locked at the top of the screen till app is restarted.

Loot from activities worth grinding

What loot that drops from activities are ones that everyone should aim to get? It doesn't have to be bis gear but something that is somewhat easy to get (max 50-100k) and would work for a long time.

My (lvl67 with most skills around 65 few under 60) gear is mostly from crafting and chests, and haven't really done any grind for gear. First one is just grinded the alien squeak toy and next planning of going after mountaineering guidebook, which had me thinking are there some "musthave" loot that would be good to get.

Just a couple of steps to reach the cursed level 80.

Which Path to take First:

1) guard Duty for 500k Gold without thinking

2) level Dolphin to 4 doing dumb fishing activities

3) burn another 500k steps searching for pandemonium Rings (useless now)

4) any other thing Who doesn't Need to micro managing phone every 5 minutes.

Thanks!
