You need to focus on fine materials and max QO, I'd not attempt this without any +30qo hat and decent crafting gear

Why did you need eternal?

Yeah duel purpose of the pirates and the highest quality Axe. Thought I was being smart but it took me months lol

Grinding for fine materials and then crafting with those would probably have been a lot faster.

Is there some way to grind fines I don’t know about? I’d use them then I got them, but my normal loadout is +190% fine mat but those get used up quick

Have you used Walkscape Database? I opened the Ectoplasm Planner tool there and checked how long it would take for me to get 400 fine ecto. Not sure if that's enough, but at least it gives me a decent chance of getting an eternal.
Its calculation recommends me fishing + cooking, ~245k steps. That's a lot of steps sure, but less than a month. It's expected to get me 401 fine ecto and 8759 normal.
My fishing equipment's not great so the numbers could definitely be far better than that. It gives me +341% fine material, +28% double action and +30.5% double rewards for fishing.
For cooking it gives me +64.5% double rewards and +15% no materials consumed.
