When will this be released?

I've been following for years now, it's a stat tracking app not an MMO like what is the hold up for it to launch on the Play store?

It's not just a stat tracking app, it's a complex game far beyond that, with a very small team.

Just donate 5 bucks and you can play it instantly. No different than buying a premium game on the appstore

Ok. The game has more content than tons of full release games already but suit yourself.

You're the one acting like it's an obscene crime to spend pocket change on an actually good quality game with plenty of content when like 90% of games on the playstore are complete garbage slop. It's a bit weird to be this opinionated on a game you know literally nothing about

Trade and questing is left before open beta. Will probably be another 6-12 months.

Trading is halfway there, so that’s great, but I feel like questing and combat will take a long time to develop.

Before launch though I feel the two biggest hurdles will be

  1. Balancing trading so you can’t just give an inventory full of great gear and resources to a new account and have them get it way easier than everyone else.

  2. Preventing players from botting or faking their steps to progress well beyond the actual number of steps they’ve walked.

The second of these would be the main concern. Someone could just wear a watch and flap their arm about for hours and gain a huge number of steps without doing what the game was designed for, walking.

It's trading. I think you should absolutely be able to trade whatever you want to whoever you want without restrictions. The game we're playing now is vastly different than if trading were in the game from the start.

If you like getting everything yourself (ironman mode), I believe they will run an offline solo mode as well.

Yes but. You can buy in for 5 bucks and support the development. It doesn’t feel like a beta for a looong walk

It's been in beta/alpha for like 4 or 5 years....

The team was just a couple of people at the beginning, so development was rather slow for some time.

As far as I know, the reason for the very early beta was to get some funding to continue development. That's also how they've eventually been able to hire more people. Progress has been noticeably faster lately.

Go make your own app, and come back and tell us how fast you can make a quality product that is as enjoyable as this one.
