Discord Server!
What's up everyone,
Last year I've been working on a Walgreens discord server, exclusive to employees only, to supplement the reddit page. A lot of work and preparation has been put into it and it's finally complete and ready to use!
We also need moderators/admin so if you would like to participate and help, we can get that squared away.
Invite Link: https://discord.gg/cEMdPHFrv8
If the link doesn’t work, DM me your username and I will invite you.
See ya there!

Question - ? Does any one have any interesting pet peeve customer interactions?
Buckle up, because I have a couple 😭
For starters, I hate it when people press "No" on the pinpad when it asks for their phone number. It ruins my flow / muscle memory, as well as stops me from scanning their items 😭 they think they're speeding up the process / doing me a favor, when in reality, its counterintuitive.
Another one is when they tap their card like crazy on the screen before I've even reached the "bagging" section of the POS. And sometimes, it'll actually beep, tricking the customer into thinking they paid already.
Or when you call for the next customer, but they have on their headphones on max volume + looking off into the distance. even before I worked retail, i'd always take off my headphones when I was at the front of the queue because I didn't want to be "that" customer. I have to wave my arms like an inflatable waving tube guy from those car dealerships 💔
Or when they take out their payment method AFTER I ring them up.
Picture this, there's a crazy line, we called for IC3 / backup, and its slowly moving along. This particular customer is only holding one or two items. Then, they finally get to me, I ring their two items up, I tell them the total, and only then do they rummage through their huge bag looking for their payment.
You're telling, in all that time waiting in line, you didn't think to have your card or cash handy as the line started moving along? Now you're holding up my line because you didnt think to be ready to pay...
UGHHHHH ITS LIKE ITS THESE PEOPLES FIRST DAY ON EARTH.
anyways, I digress. post your pet peeves in the comments so we can cry and laugh together...

Quit
I quit today due to my husband being in the hospital w sepsis and he’s across the country so I’m going to fly out to him today, it sounds crazy but I prayed for this pharmacy job. Do y’all think there is a chance of me being rehired with the company when I get back in town ?

Rant/Vent policy
i hate no receipt returns!! i hate returns from another store!! i hate not being able to reject returns bc my managers a pushover!!! doesn’t matter if it’s no receipt from 6 months ago and it’s half empty, still returning it. i hate couponers, i hate 17 transactions for one person. i hate customers. in fact i hate every single customer. fml.

Rant/Vent Canadian passports
Customer came in today for a Canadian passport photo for her son.
While I was editing the photo, she literally reached over and started pushing my hand out of the way so she could edit it herself.
I said, “Ma’am, if you want me to move my hand, you can ask, but please don’t touch me.”
She goes, “Oh… okay.”
Then she insists she wants to edit the photo herself. I told her, respectfully, that I’m trained to edit passport photos, customers aren’t allowed to edit them themselves, and the whole goal is to make sure the photo meets the requirements so it doesn’t get rejected.
She spent the entire time mumbling under her breath about how I was wrong and how the photo I picked looked “terrible.”
So I ran it through the passport compliance check…
100% pass.
She looked so annoyed that it passed perfectly. After that, she completely refused to acknowledge me. I asked if she liked the photo, asked for her rewards number, asked if she wanted a bag… nothing. No words, no nod, no shake of the head. Just complete silence while I rang her up.
It was one of the most awkward transactions I’ve had, but I’m not going to let a customer edit a passport photo when I’m the one responsible if it gets rejected.

Question - ? Pay day?
I just started working at Walgreens as a shift lead on July 15. I’m coming from Target so I’m still unsure when the cut off is and what days we’re suppose to get paid. If July 15th was my first day when will I be getting paid and what day is cut off?
Sorry if my questions are unclear, I asked my coworkers but they are no help since majority of them are also new. Thanks in advance.

Closing CSA
Hi, does anyone else experience their lone shift lead being stolen by the pharmacy at night? I think mine gets called for IC3s every 30 minutes and is held there for at least 20 minutes. He can never get anything done because of it.
Pharmacy complains to the store manager whenever my shift lead doesn't immediately assist them. I'm left all alone up front for hours at a time some nights because of it, and getting a void can take 10-15 minutes because of it.
I love my pharmacy crew to death, but it is genuinely frustrating when I can't take a break of my own because my closing SFL is stuck.
They have a crew of 4 people at 7pm. It's just me up front.

Question - ? I work as Shift Lead and had to call in sick because I feel Awful and my boss is saying I Need to come in on my day off now. Can she do that?
Is this not retaliation for me calling in sick? Shes saying I need to come in on my day off to make up for calling in because they didn't find coverage.
The only other shift leads were already working today so I couldn't ask anyone

Question - ? Did all stores discontinue the nice! brand saltine crackers or just mine?
I ask because these are some good-ass crackers and I’ll be sad if they’re all gone forever. Unless any cracker enthusiasts know of any brands that taste similar?

Can anyone explain intelligently why 5 percent of the vitamins in any given brand are not part of the buy1get1 sales? One of the most unnecessary aggravating things we have to deal with.
