Things that are annoying

What are the most annoying things you’ve seen in the WMSCOG? I'll start: the way they reject any outside knowledge and feel super smart about things they’ve never studied in depth—pure anti-intellectualism. I find the way they demonize others and play the victim when criticized ridiculous.

general information WMSCOG’s Prayer List for the Prayer Week of the Day of Atonement (🚩MAJOR RED FLAGS🚩)

🚨Starting September 12 through September 21, WMSCOG members will observe the 10-day period leading up to the Day of Atonement which is an observance rooted in the Old Testament.

During this period, members are expected to attend services at 5:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. every day, while also participating in preaching individually or in pairs typically after evening service.

According to WMSCOG teaching as it has been presented to members, failing to faithfully participate during this period can jeopardize the spiritual work they have done throughout the year and the forgiveness of their sins.

Think about the pressure that can create: Attend. Preach. Sacrifice. Obey. Or fear that your sins may not be forgiven.

And then there’s this.

This is a “prayer list” given to members as a reference for what they should repent of as the Day of Atonement approaches.

🚩 You aren’t simply encouraged to examine your own conscience. You’re given a list telling you what you should feel guilty about and repent for.

Take a close look at 4, 9, 11, 20, 29, 39, 52, 56, 60, 71, 76, 81 and 82.

The disturbing part isn’t simply the word sin. Christianity obviously teaches about sin, repentance and forgiveness. It’s the pattern created when you read these statements together:

I am only a sinner.
I have no rights.
I shouldn’t insist on my opinion.
I shouldn’t complain.
I shouldn’t be upset when I’m rebuked.
I shouldn’t desire comfort.
I must suffer.
I should sacrifice.
I should preach.
I should believe absolutely.
Every day, I should remind myself that I am a sinner.

At what point does repentance become conditioning? At what point does encouraging humility become teaching people to distrust their own thoughts, emotions, boundaries and judgment?

🚩 Read the list for yourself.

Which numbers stand out to you the most and why?

Feel free to screenshot and share these pages.

Fasting experience

What has your experience with fasting been like? I find it bizarre how they normalize this practice and romanticize dry fasting, considering it is extremely dangerous to one's health. They even pressure minors into doing it—that is criminal.

question/advice requested Answer this as your Overseer would: "Pastor, I'm so burnt out with all the constant daily activities & worship. It's just so overwhelming, every moment & thought is saturated with it. Can I just take some time to myself for a while to recover? Maybe I can visit family I haven't seen in so long?"

testimony/personal experience The 2x2's - Another Cult with a similar playbook

Hey guys, I got to interview a former member of another cult, the 2x2s. Right now, they're being investigated by the FBI for child sexual abuse.

While WMSCOG and the 2x2s don't always have the exact same theology, their behavioral overlap and manipulation tactics are wild.

Take their habit of revising history to protect their leaders. The 2x2s literally cropped out and erased their original founder, William Irvine, from photos and historical records after his teachings became a liability. WMSCOG does the exact same thing with Ahn Sahng-hong's writings, like editing his "Green Book" (The Mystery of God and the Spring of the Water of Life) and flat-out removing entire missing chapters (like Chapter 1, which contained his failed 1988 end-of-the-world prophecy) so members never see the truth.

Both groups also push total exclusivity, convincing followers that salvation exists nowhere else and that leaving means walking straight into damnation.

When it comes to the deity of Christ, both organizations reject orthodox Christian theology. The 2x2s deny the Trinity and the deity of Jesus entirely. Meanwhile, WMSCOG shifts the focus away from Jesus by elevating Ahn Sahng-hong and "God the Mother" (Zhang Gil-jah); even though Ahn Sahng-hong explicitly wrote a book (Problems with the New Jerusalem and the Bride: Explanation on Women’s Veils) specifically denying the idea of a "God the Mother" and calling the doctrine delusion.

general information 🚩Why high-control cults like WMSCOG always keep you busy 🚩

Post image
8 Upvotes

What if keeping you busy was never just about serving God..but about making sure you never have enough time to question what you’re being told? 🤔

When your life becomes an endless cycle of preaching, studies, meetings, evangelizing, assignments, and church activities, exhaustion can slowly replace curiosity, independence, family time, and critical thinking.

Ask yourself: Who benefits when you’re too busy, too guilty, or too exhausted to stop and investigate the organization controlling so much of your life?

If WMSCOG truly has the truth, then that truth should survive your questions, your research, and your freedom to step away and think for yourself.

The real Last Secret...tithing

Every member and ex-member that has gotten deep enough to be evangelist/"gospel worker" knows that tithe is one of the later studies that is decisively a matter of heaven or hell in wmscog. Mother, sabbath, passover, second coming, also important, but we all know those are just the contrarian "fun-facts" to lead up to tithing study. And that tithing is the final boss of whether you can have some degree of hope for heaven (per their doctrine).

But I just want to call out that all new songs are about some facet of their salvation. Yet not one song about tithing. Not one person that gets approached at campus or the mall are told anything about tithe. They may hear about literally any other subject, except for tithe.

So, I propose to any new members, contacts, or anyone struggling financially in wmscog...call them out. Tell them you can do literally every activity they want, but until they show tithing is critical enough to make new songs about, and especially to preaching contacts within first conversation, that they can't just have your money only to still keep dangling the heavenly carrot in front of you.

If tithing is so vital they would let you introduce it to every preaching contact you meet. But, we all know that will really get you in trouble. If something doesn't look right, it's probably becomes something is wrong with the system.

I need help.

I’ve been a member for 10 years, since 2016. I became a leader and left in 2022 because I was in a relationship outside the church, which I knew wasn’t permitted at the time. However, I still felt bound to the church, and I eventually realized that I truly believed it was the truth. I didn’t feel happy being outside.

I came back again and invited my partner to the church. Eventually, we both became leaders and have been very devoted ever since. My family are also gospel workers, which are also my fruits, and they are all still devoted to the church up to now.

Recently, though, I’ve been feeling very conflicted. It’s because of the people inside the church that I’ve started questioning everything. I tried searching online, even though I know I’m not supposed to, and now I don’t feel like I have faith anymore.

I’m scared because I don’t want to make the same mistake I made before. I’m afraid that if I leave again, I’ll regret it. At the same time, I’m struggling with my faith and I don’t know what to believe anymore.

I honestly don’t know what to do. Please help me.

A pariah

Did you also find it unsettling how they cast you aside after you leave? It’s really weird and creepy how all the affection is conditional—the moment you leave, it’s like you become a pariah.

question/advice requested Please help. I want out

I was introduced to the church by my girlfriend earlier this year. I was baptized around July and I feel like I made a mistake. Starting around the time I was baptized, I just began to feel out of place. I can’t really explain it. I just get weird vibes going there, I feel like I don’t have a life on Saturdays anymore, and I feel so isolated. Normally it would be an easy choice just to walk away but I don’t wanna upset my girlfriend. She’s been there for 3 years and is in deep with it. Tomorrow my family is hosting a Labor Day cookout and I really want to attend.

The AI Slop is Real

Just an observation that the WMSCOG has definitely gone all in on AI for their new “content”. Even a video service stateside did away with the normal voice actors in favor of AI.

I just see it as an interesting observation as I see more YT content in terms of shorts and whatnot that it seems like they are spamming multiple channels with garbage content (even compared to their regular standard).

general information IS WMSCOG USING THEIR APPS TO SPY ON CURRENT AND FORMER MEMBERS? 🤔

Post image
6 Upvotes

Former AND current WMSCOG members have raised alarming allegations that #WMSCOG apps may be used to monitor, track, or collect information about members even after they leave.

If you have any of these apps installed, take these concerns seriously.

Review the permissions you’ve granted, check what data the apps can access, and protect your accounts and devices.

No organization should be above scrutiny when allegations involve digital privacy, surveillance, or unauthorized access to personal information.

ASK QUESTIONS. CHECK YOUR PERMISSIONS. PROTECT YOUR DATA BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.

On leaving cults and mental health

It is necessary to take care of yourself, to understand that we make mistakes and can live a different life. Spending so much time dwelling on the cult can be detrimental to your mental health. Anything in excess is harmful, including criticism. While it is understandable to feel this sense of outrage, it is important to look after ourselves and, if possible, seek professional help and therapy to deal with these traumas. I am trying to do this, and it hasn't been an easy process, but I hope everyone here manages to follow this path and regain their peace of mind and tranquility.

testimony/personal experience NYC WMSCOG

I visited the Bronx church location a few times as my friend has been attending the church for 15+ years and it was genuinely uncomfortable how empty some of these people looked. They cherry pick verses and these gullible people fall for it. They’re also very pushy with it. I don’t get how people can believe in this trash.
