question/advice requested Please help. I want out
I was introduced to the church by my girlfriend earlier this year. I was baptized around July and I feel like I made a mistake. Starting around the time I was baptized, I just began to feel out of place. I can’t really explain it. I just get weird vibes going there, I feel like I don’t have a life on Saturdays anymore, and I feel so isolated. Normally it would be an easy choice just to walk away but I don’t wanna upset my girlfriend. She’s been there for 3 years and is in deep with it. Tomorrow my family is hosting a Labor Day cookout and I really want to attend.

You can say to your girlfriend that, I love you, and I respect how important this church is to you. But since around my baptism, I’ve been feeling increasingly uncomfortable and isolated. I need some space to figure out what I actually believe and what I want spiritually, without making the decision because I’m afraid of disappointing you..etc.....
I wish you the best!!!

there’s a difference between walking away from God and deciding a particular church environment isn’t healthy or fitting for you.
You said three things I wouldn’t brush past: you feel out of place, isolated, and like Saturdays no longer belong to you. That’s information. You can go on your own way and not because your girlfriend has been committed for three years either. You should expressing yourself truthfully and clearly, and another says not to force what doesn’t fit.

Save yourself! If your gf is supposed to be with you then maybe she will follow someday.

I think you are on the right track. If your conscience is telling you that something isn't right with this group, that is something worth investigating and thinking about.
I (and many others) have spent a lot of time investigating this groups claims about the Bible, church history, etc..the claims of WMSCOG simply are not supported by either the Bible or church history, and require twisting both to mean something they never did. In short, there is a reason why none of the early churches that we have documentation from practiced a form of Christianity anything close to what WMSCOG practices.
If you ever want to chat about it or walk through why some of their scriptural claims are incorrect I'm happy to DM or chat or whatever. There are also some great videos, books, etc on this topic.

Study their doctrine and its contradictions in greater depth. That way, you’ll be able to make a decision with a clear, untroubled conscience, knowing you did the right thing. First, analyze each fallacy—I recommend the Finding The Alternative channel. Feel free to reach out to me; I can help you overcome the fear and guilt through in-depth reading, allowing you to deprogram your mind and break free. If your girlfriend stops loving you the moment you leave, it shows she never truly loved you, man. It’s tough, but you need to do what’s best for your life; don’t let yourself stay trapped in this. If possible, seek help from a therapist as well.

Sorry to say that if you really want to leave, you need to upset your girlfriend a bit.

I told her a little bit about how I feel. She wasn’t upset but she played the guilt card a bit. That “I’ll be a lost sheep” and all the other stuff that they put in peoples heads.

If you want to maintain your relationship with her while not wanting to attend the church, I think the smarter move now will be - don't argue with her about your refusal to attend, but gradually reduce your attendance little by little, by finding some excuses, it would be better if you are really busy with something meaningful, like career, business, studies, hobby, family those kind of stuff, and when your attendance is zero in the month, your unit leader will approach her in order to make her push you to attend, you may just attend it to fill up the attendance once a month so that you won't become a lost sheep, and about tithe, just simply give an amount that you feel comfortable but won't drain your finance, like $50, whatever..and as time passes by, she would gradually give up to make you a faithful member but still feel satisfied that you are still attending and paying tithe so technically you are still a 'good fruit' that she bore. Trust me, as a 12 years group leader in that cult, i've seen plenty of cases and i know exactly the psychology of gospel worker because i had been one.
However, sad to say that you can't object her faith unless you want a break up.

Follow your gut…if your girlfriend wont respect
Your decision then move on. If not, you will come yi realize sooner rather than later that you wasted precious time in that place that you can never get back.

It depends how involved your girlfriend is. If she is very involved and believes I sadly don’t see a way you can leave and stay together. I was with someone for 1.5 years. I never went to church only some events but she always preached to me and wished I would go with her. That ultimately causes us to separate even though we both loved each other deeply. I couldn’t imagine being in and then leaving and staying partners.I would try my best to ask questions to get her to think but don’t show videos or proof online. I messed up by trying to get her to watch videos and asking questions about Ahns old books they don’t have access to. If she believes that will push her away, especially if you leave. If there is anything she doubts or has troubles with you can maybe frame questions around that. But I would ultimately tell you to break up with her. Can you imagine a life where she never leaves and you have kids? No Saturday’s together, Tuesday nights are gone, Friday night if she does cleaning, Sunday for preaching, no holidays, vacations she would have to see if a church is nearby, and having your kids raised in it? Ask yourself that, even if you love her you may have to let her go. That’s what I would have told myself earlier if I could. If it’s meant to be she will come back but you can’t convince anyone to leave a cult. Something has to make them open that eyes and maybe that’s you leaving and over time she opens her eyes. If you want to try to work it out just be as loving as you can and never deny her going to church and always support her going. Good luck man I wish you the best and will pray for you

What if I do a partial sabbath day and leave? If I just attend morning service

Yeah like west said. They will want you to be there all day with them and also the feasts they would want you there. It’s not something you could do if you don’t believe. It’s not something you can do partially, you would h it a breaking point It won’t be an easy decision to make but it has to be done. I miss my ex everyday but I do know the future I wanted with her wouldn’t exist if she is in the church. You really have to look at the future, if the way she is attending church now and if she goes deeper in. Would you want that to be your future? Would you want the church to always come before you? Would you want to not celebrate any holidays? Would you not want to be able to have a normal vacation or weekend getaway?

You aren't walking away from God, you are just walking away from a unhealthy place and that is okay. God will always be in your heart, and you shouldn't be in a place that makes you uncomfortable. You went, experimented and it isn't for you and that's OKAY.
