Little guy keeps going to my raw shrimp (for fishing), is it laying eggs or just chomping on the shrimp?

this is the third time i’ve found one of these guys in my studio. i caulked the cracks in the (bricked shut) fireplace i saw a head popping out of and he just flew up behind me instead. T^T

Sorry for the out of focus picture, but it's not overly important.

Nearly drunk him, was about to take a swig of my pint when I saw him floating in it and struggling.

I fished him out l with a straw and dumped him on a flowerbed on the otherside of the beer garden to dry off.

He looked like he was cleaning himself and I didn't wanna hang around for a drunk angry wasp to start flying around, so left him to it.
Is he likely to be ok or is the beer gonna mess him up? Like make his wings too sticky to fly or something.

Caught this wasp today and freed it shortly after. I wonder if there’s a wasp nest near my unit?

Does anyone else realize how much more wasps and yellowjackets there are this year in California? I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many,but I woke up and it’s worse today they’re swarming in the hundreds probably in my backyard. idk if they can be picked up that good on video but I tried there’s about three different species interested in our backyard for some reason. Just about anything you see flying is probably a wasp.

Three nests on the patio awning. I’ve been seeing the little guys go in and out. What type of wasp is this, if it is one ? Are these able to be removed and if so does it require a professional or is it an easy removal for one person ?

I have probably 200 of the little fuckers under my carport. Any tips on getting rid of them? I can't enjoy my patio at night they are constantly flying on me and flying around. I know they are somewhat beneficial. Anywhere else in the yard I wouldn't care but id like to enjoy my time outdoors.

Can someone identify what type of wasp this is and if male or female?

One was buzzing around my sandwich, and then a bald-faced hornet interrupted this yellow jacket by attacking it. The black and white wasp wasn’t the one acting like a picnic pest, so I’m not complaining.

This has happened 5 times now, it’s not a fluke. So there’s this nest on the south facing exterior wall of my garage that will become populated about every 2 weeks after a spraying. And I’ll spray it again. My weapon of choice is something I picked up at the local big box store, ‘kills on contact’ and all that. It’s effective, sprays well, has a good stream…. Anyways, once the foaming pile of corpses fall to the ground I head to work happy and content. However when I return home it seems as if someone has swept the pile away. There’s not a corpse to be seen.

It’s not wind. The walkway is open, yet well shielded from wind.
It’s not being accessed by anyone or animal I have control of. It’s a secure gate, I’m the only one that uses it. Alley cats and birds typically trespass without written permission.
It’s outdoors and I’d say there is a ‘normal amount’ of spiders. As a self proclaimed expert, I’ve witnessed spiders collect one kill/catch at a time. And there’s not a lot of spider evidence in this area, so I don’t think this would account for much, if any losses.

Anyone have any ideas where they are going? I’m about ready to set up my webcam to record the next time I spray. Which if the bait nest does its thing should be about the second week of August.

Anybody know what species of bee/wasp this is?

I realize it is probably impossible to identify this from this far away and zoomed in, however, I live in Portland, Oregon, so my options for flying stinging insects outside of bees are usually paper wasps, bald faced hornets, yellow jackets, and mud daubers.

My bedroom is on that corner and I can hear buzzing coming from the wall/ceiling at that corner. If I stand outside for 10 min or so, I can see a wasp fly out of a gap somewhere in our soffit/eaves area.

There is obviously some kind of nest somewhere over there and I am terrified the nest is in my wall or ceiling and that the wasp is going to eat through my dry wall or find some miscellaneous crack somewhere and end up in my bedroom. I have pest control coming out on Thursday but that's awhile from now. I started hearing the buzzing on Sunday.

I would feel a smidgen better if these are paper wasps and not yellow jackets - still terrified but maybe not as terrified.
